Hello fellow warriors!

I don't normally post in this forum, but I ran across this article today and I thought you might enjoy it as much as I did.

Cheers!

Anyone could start a business but only a select few will be entrepreneurs. These individuals aim to achieve a lot of things and other than earning a fortune, they dream of changing the world and changing the lives of many. They exist in the business to be of service to people and to extend a helping hand.

If you wish to be in business, endeavor to be an entrepreneur, and be more than what you could be; and if you want to be an entrepreneur, make sure that you are equipped with the following:

Self Confidence.

Confidence is very important in business because you will be surrounded by different forces that are bigger and more powerful than you, so you need to have the right confidence to move forward and push against the current.

You need to believe in the impossible and most importantly, you need to believe in yourself and your ability to achieve everything you put your heart and mind to.

Emotional Stability.

The journey that you take is not going to be a simple one. There will be roadblocks and struggles that you will encounter and if you aren’t careful, these things will keep you from achieving your goals.

People will put you down and they will attack you. If you are 'weak', you will falter to the point of not knowing how to move forward. Emotional stability is important because you have to know how to keep your emotions at bay.

Love for Challenges.

It is important for you to be some kind of risk taker because entrepreneurs should be ready to go out of their comfort zones and to take on new challenges. They should not be easily overcome by fear and more importantly, they should have a great affinity for challenges and risks.

Patience.

As the journey to the top is not easy and simple, patience is a very good trait to have. You should not be quick to give up and quick to get frustrated and angry. The journey is not going to be an easy one, so you have to be prepared for difficulties to arise.

Meticulous Taste.

Being meticulous is just a nice way of saying that you should be a perfectionist. You should not be easily content. You should demand more and demand for great things. You should set high standards for yourself and you should not be quick to fold and give up your ideals and principles.

Innovation.

You should be creative and have a creative mind. Instead of being someone who follows trends, you should be the one that starts trends. Entrepreneurs are regarded for their amazing ideas, and if you want to be good entrepreneur, you should have your own ideas, as well.

Flexibility and adaptability.

Change is inevitable. The world is evolving too fast and you should be prepared to handle change. You should be prepared not to be overwhelmed and be prepared to cope with all sorts of changes along the way.

These are just some of the many characteristics that help make you the entrepreneur that you ought to become. Before you could even dream of becoming successful, you should first seek to develop these qualities.
Fearlessness

"Big Stones". Having the self-confidence to take a calculated risk on yourself is another key trait shared by all entrepreneurs. This separates the people who have a lot of ideas and never take any action from the real entrepreneurs that make their own dreams come true.

Self-Discipline

There will be many days that you wake up and don't feel like taking on that big project waiting for you. Entrepreneurs don't waste time avoiding hard work or difficult tasks - they tackle them head on and with conviction.

You have some great tips here. However, I think self-discipline is a very important one and am surprised I didn't see that one on this list.

    Hi.

I will quote an excerpt distillation of 'Advanced Inner Technology' artifacts, which will possibly evidence a more fundamental expression of the human quality artifacts mentioned:

    • 'Clear Perspective Perception' - sympathetic environmental affinity acknowledgement and comprehension.........

    • Aspiration - psychological behavioral framework and tapestry geared toward the embrace of actual inner intrinsic value.........

    • Creativity - the harness of friction between at least two polar irregularities resulting in naturally occurring skeletal and cosmetic structural design.........

    • Desire - decision acceptance of emotionally generated energy from beyond the absolute of potential, that is correspondent with associated harmonic mental-physical behavioral sensitivities.........

    • Persistence - the mechanics of psycho-mental behavioral activity dynamics

From 'PFOSH' - Wealth Beyond Reality' - Tom Garris

These are a few artifacts that 'WILL CAUSE' the type of mentioned human surface deposits of, 'Entrepreneurial Qualities', to naturally harmonically and recursively occur.

So, ever wonder what happens to the entrepreneur after they entrepreneur themselves into a homogenized module of so-called success?

One might consider this totem pole of growth:

    • beyond the absolute
    • absolute
    • potential
    • chaos/order
    • revelation
    • awareness
    • aspiration
    • desire
    • will
    • value
    • health
    • success
    • wealth
    • riches
So what are the more fundamental Qualities of an Entrepreneur? What do you think?

Great list. Its quite true that an entrepreneur is different from a run-of-the-mill businessperson.

Possibly the single most important thing distinguishing them is that an entrepreneur has some sort of overarching vision. This need not be true of the businessperson.

This fact is implied in the first paragraph of the article, although I think it needs to be highlighted as a separate point of its own.

    Cheers,
    Sanjeev

All great. The biggest things I think that make an entrepreneur are their ability and willingness to take risks and their persistence to keep going after multiple failures and overcoming anything until they achieve their result.

Entrepreneur and business man or women are essentially the same thing but our perception of what they mean.

A entrepreneur though is a person who is more apt to risk. When we think of businessmen we think of people who follow standard trends that are already prevailent to create a new business. An example would be to open a bookstore. But then again some entrepreneurs open book stores.

The difference we might find is that the book store is suddenly taken online - an Amazon!

In true essence though the difference is our perception of these. The truth is that you still are a business man or woman but in a fancy business lingo new age talk - I am an entrepreneur - gives you a newer feeling than perhaps a dinosaur kind of business man/women mentality.

    Getting back onto the subject...

    Being a self starter,
    Taking risks,
3 parts brave, one part fool,
    Being smart,
    Being willing to learn,
Understanding failure is a process of all success,
    Confidence.

In truth though being an entrepreneur rather than stuck on the idea phase or even learning phase is all about character.

You will be what you will to be. I think those words are so true and if you want to become anything you should take a step towards it rather than considering conventions. You don't know how to move your arm, but you do. Likewise a entrepreneur is compelled to act on his vision for life.

Bring forth your vision. Many words may come but no true words are there such as a dream and a conviction to bring it to reality.

Another great trait of successful Entrepreneurs is never, ever, ever giving up.

As Mahomad Ali said "There's nothing wrong with getting knocked down, as long as you get right back up."

Take good care of those that you love.

I think Leadership is the essence of entrepreneurship. The great list provided is also a description of what it takes to be a leader.

I will add vision, strategic thinking (how to get there), and being able to make decisions quickly even without all the information.

The longer I do this, the more I realize my success is about developing leadership in myself, not learning more "how-to" tactics. If you're a true leader you will just fu&$%ing figure stuff out as you go.

    I love it.

If I may change the focus of the topic ever so slightly and maybe delve a bit deeper...

Which qualities do you feel are a double-edged sword, as it were?

Which qualities, do you think, can also result in the downfall of the entrepreneur?

    Cheers,

Loneliness.. Being an entrepreneur can be hard, it can be a long a lonely path, so unless you are strong enough or have enough support behind you your not going to make it.

Haha... That's true. Many people do give up before they've given success enough time to happen.

What I had really meant to ask, though, was wish strengths/qualities of an entrepreneur are also weaknesses?

        For instance...

You might be a head-strong, take-no-prisoners kind of person, and that might translate well for your business when it comes to taking action and getting things done....

But it might also lead to your downfall if you try to JV with another entrepreneur (who is probably also a bit head strong :-P).

        Cheers,
        -Adrian

I love being an entrepreneur and the biggest difference between entrepreneur and an employee is, entrepreneur work before there is a business while employee work only after the business is build..

Creativity is what makes entrepreneurship FUN!
