Why Watching CSI Will Make You Broke....

CSI Miami like most crime drama's focuses on murder, kidnapping,
blackmail and robberies.

However, an interesting thing that I have observed is that most
of the victims of these crimes are wealthy individuals.

What's interesting about this phenomenon is the effect of
repeatedly watching hundreds of hours of wealthy people being
murdered in a variety of gruesome ways

What most people don't realise is that our unconscious mind
takes all information in via the senses quite literally, so when
you decide that you're going to become wealthy with your very
own online business, your mind hears this and decides that what
you're doing isn't safe and therefore does everything it can to
sabotage you.

Think about this for a moment, why is the failure rate with most
people who get into IM, Forex Trading, Property Investing and
MLM well over 95%?

Simple, you live in a society where most people have an aversion
to wealth.

Your thoughts...

I just think sitting in front of the idiot box for hours and hours instead of working on your IM business is a recipe for failure. I'm not sure about my mind telling me not to succeed because I will be killed if I become wealthy. I consider myself wealthy now and I'm still here. I don't watch very much television so maybe that's why.

I generally watch something while I'm working on my homework or on freelancing.

2 shows come to mind and their effects.

Duck Tales (yes, I'm serious). Very awesome thing to watch for making money. The hero is the wealthiest guy (duck?) on Earth, he's old, and he kicks complete and total ass.

X Files. I got watching that right before I was supposed to give a speech about making money and it screwed my entire speech up because X Files has that 'government is out to destroy everything you do just because it's in the mood to do so'.

      So... careful what you watch!

Actually I watch very little TV as I'm way too busy with my business, however In my coaching practice I've found that when people dramatically cut the amount of TV they watch things begin to improve more rapidly especially in their finances.

What I've also noticed from the research that I have done is that there is actually a pattern in the media that regularly gets you to associate "pain" with wealth.

Don't accept my word for it, check it out for yourself...but that would mean watching a lot of TV.

      Just my 2 cents

Just to add onto this, English TV is a lot better than American. We have the BBC, which does produce good TV now and then. Besides, I watch most things in Netflix.

As much as I would love to agree with a fellow Brit I couldn't disagree with you more.

Although on the surface, they may seem different they both seemingly fulfil the same function, just in different ways.

US TV projects the glamour and aspirations of the american dream whilst at the same time attaching a lot of pain to the actual experience.

British TV from my experience has no such illusions it doesn't even attempt to be aspirational as it just focuses on giving you just enough mindless entertainment and misery to make you get up in the morning and go to work.

I don't watch TV and would advise you to do the same.

But I see your point. And it's not just CSI that does that. The government, media and other outlets are fond of bashing the rich. It makes people happy to hurt those that have more than them.

People fail because they would rather watch CSI, than work hard and be successful.

I dont find this statement true at all. I love watching CSI, and yes most of them are wealthy men who get killed. These do not just get killed because they are rich men sitting in their office. They end up becoming part of a much bigger picture and their power and money has influenced them to do something they should not have done and commit some kind of crime and it comes back to haunt them and they get killed. The majority is retaliation and the minority is just bad luck

I think watching television in general or just wasting your time will make a person broke. If you do not take action you will not go anywhere.

I think TV influences the concepts which we have about money in our mind. There are many myths about money such as:A common myth about money is that there is not enough to go around -- that the more you have, the less there is for everyone else, so that it is better to be poor and righteous than rich and evil. People with this idea usually resent rich people. I am quoting this from a book I am reading right now that talks about money and how we change the current mindmaps that we have regarding money. The book is called Money is My Friend by Phil Laut. I recommend to anyone who would like to have more money.
