The Secret is BS!

The secret tells you what to do but it doesn't tell you how to do it. You can't control your thoughts until the time you program your sub-conscious mind. And that only happens with repetition and constant affirmations.

Hi Ryanman. You're right, The Secret doesn't give you all the answers. But if you have all the answers laid on there would be no discovery left to be had.

PaulWSutherland, you make a good point: "The brain or mind does not have the capacity to always distinguish between truth and falsehood." But, conrary to thought, this is the exact reason The Secret does work. The brain can't tell the difference between imagined and real events. This information is pretty mind blowing and I have seen the effects myself.

I could go on to explain it but I won't. Like I said, 'if you have all the answers laid on there would be no discovery left to be had', and discovery is the juice of life.
There are some great books, 'Mind Maps' and 'Psycho-Cybernetics'. These books will give the information needed to try out the idea of 'imagined events' to create your future. I loved them and they have helped me heaps.

You may say that 'The Secret' is bs, but as the others have already said this book only gives you a push. It tells you what you should do in order to acheive what you want, but it doesn't give you a step by step tutorial of how to do it. Everything depends on you and on your motivation. The book is great for those who have lost faith and who need to see that there is still hope and there can still be made something that will enhance their lives, their belief.

as someone who is rapidly going through the ascension process ..and who noticed the flaws in the secret rather early ..the secret served a purpose in giving millions of people a taste of spiritual principles ..but it left out the core elements..and also got molded into a prescription for defining your happyness and joy according to stuff ..or to get stuff ..

I am a full believer in the law of attraction.. and i have been really good with attracting hurricain of grief torment and absolute darkness .. it has all been to lead to my personal growth and what i am going through now .. still some pain and torment but ..well soon it will shift dramatically ..

the law off attraction works to draw thing into your life that will lead to your growth.. if you refuse to grow .. the intensity of the negative parts of these events with increase untill it either kills you or you grow ..

it is not about the stuff ..get on a path where you chose to grow and attract that which help you grow joyfully .. and even if your car breaks down far from home .. look for the growth and learning opportunity in that ..

in my path of growth i will have concepts form and within hours i find myself with no real effort put in.. reading someones explination of that concept listening to an audio recording for something unrelated that veers off for a minute and describes the concept ..

My highest values have been learning ,synthisizing information , spiritual growth.. and teaching .. physical stuff has been far down the list ..so i basically attract a lot of information and events that lead to spiritual growth or greater learning in general.

but my values have or are changing.. as my more spiritual self insists that the key to more spiritual growth is to have a much more enjoyable time phyisically ..so i am working to have more fun ..and tuning my ability to attract oportuntities

I believe in the law of action - it serves me well.

whether you believe it's bs, or you don't, either way you are right.

The Secret is for wishful thinkers

If you really want to understand the law of attraction then Think & Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill is your best bet

The mind cannot stand as a detriment to the principle of The Secret.

The mind is the entire actuator of forming 'reality' as we know it.

It is the first link in the chain. It is the 'seer'. It is the seed. It is the fundamental essence of the proposed theory for this very reason.

It would be seemingly impossible to ever appreciate the outlined principles unless you posses a reasonable degree of appreciation for the metaphysical.

Talk of heart and science is mere matter and material law.

LOA is closely related to the Biblical principal of sowing and reaping- it works, if you believe in it or not, no matter if you want it to or not.

You have to be inclined to LOA to harness its effects. How will you know if what is happening and if the universe is responding? Basically, it is going to feel correct. It is going to feel fantastic. You will have to act, and acquire what the universe is giving and realize what it has in store for you.

I believe that the law of attraction is true! I've followed a few simple steps to achieve all my dreams.

What The Secret does really well, is market itself, and make profit.

What it doesn't do well is give real information.

Positive affirmations can't work if you really need them . . . this is obvious to anyone who knows anything about acupuncture, Kinesiology (not sure if I spelled that right), EFT, or spiritual reality . . . there is a specific scale down which any goal will decay, and at a certain point on that scale, there is REVERSAL.

So, below that point on the decay-scale, the more you want something, the more you'll get the opposite. So for someone who is in that condition on a particular subject, the more positive affirmations they do, the more negative results they will get in that subject.

This is not difficult to change (even something as shallow as EFT can often make such changes), but what most people do is to have a few areas of life that they do well, and avoid some other things. This is due to the fundamental nature of personalities and goals, which are basically limitations, the way they are almost always used (this too, can be handled, but it is advanced stuff).

You can see what people really want (subconsciously), not by what they say, but what they do, and by what results they get.

The people involved in The Secret, wanted fame and money, and they did a good job. Really helping people is not what they are doing, and also not what most people want, most people want "easy answers", so that's what they get (rather than truth, for example).
