YOU SHOULD QUIT !!!!

I'm a big believer in quitting. I think it's a good thing. You should do more of it.

Yes, I did say quitting and -- yes -- I did say you should do more of it!
Sound odd? I'm not surprised. Maybe it's that neat-o 'survival instinct' of yours kicking in.

Or maybe after years and years of hearing the old saw "A winner never quits and a quitter never wins" bull**** you came to believe it.

After all, from the time, when we were very young children we've been taught that quitting is something negative that "losers do". Real life, however, shows us that quitting is very often a positive force in our lives.

Don't believe me? Try a few of these "quits" and see how much your life improves:

  • Quit doing the things that aren't bringing you the results you want.
  • Quit procrastinating
  • Quit rushing
  • Quit being a "Victim"
  • Quit feeling miserable for yourself (and being miserable about stuff beyond your control).
  • Quit trying to be everything, to do everything, and to have everything.
  • Quit giving less than 100% all the time.
  • Quit blaming others for your lack of success
  • Quit making excuses.
  • Quit listening to excuses.
  • Quit saying "should've... could've... would've"
  • Quit saying “Yes…but”
  • Quit expecting more from others than from yourself.
  • Quit trying to be like everyone else.
  • Quit working overtime.
  • Quit talking when you should be listening.

If you can quit just one of these things, you'll be creating positive action in your life. But you have to quit first!

It's a simple idea most of us overlook: To really be a winner, you have to be able to stop doing stuff that's not good for you!

So quit waiting... and take action!

Hope this helps a few people out on their IM Journey.

cheers

    Anton,

I cannot agree with you enough. Early in my life I heard a phrase that has stuck with to this day:

"If you always do what you have always done, you will always get what you always got"

I challenge everyone to quit just as Anton suggests, you will be happier for it, I guarantee it.

Interesting perspective! I prefer to use the phrase 'let go' instead of 'quitting', but they accomplish the same thing.

I realize in order to strive forward, sacrifice really is necessary, as in putting an end to excuses, complaints, delayed action, etc. There really is a price to pay for success, and it involved putting an end to all that negativity described above.

I agree with a comment above that it should be "letting go off" more than "quitting" because "quitting" has such a negative connotation to it. But then we give words meaning and power so whatever works for us I guess.

The message is important and for most of us it comes at the right time. We're done with 3 months of this new year and we should only look ahead rather than ponder on the resolutions that we didnt meet.

Make new ones and move on with it!

      Thanks peerless2acme,

Yes, most people cover it with a veil as you say and try and give it another label or make it sound less "negative" but hey lets all get over ourselves and face facts....sometimes you simply need to call it "quits".

The label we/you (or society) give this decision/action in irrelevant, the true genius lies in the outcome of chosing to QUIT

Those actions/behaviors/decisions you have chosen to quit you change your destiny in some small way and guide it (hopefully) on a more fulfilling and abundant course.

      Stay Strong & Propser.

    Thank you Anton,

Came just at the right time. I've been having a poor sales week and last night I even blamed my dog for my failings.

I must get back to the habit of asking myself regularly, "Is what I'm doing now helping me achieve my GOALS?" If it isn't I will immediately drop it and go and do something that will.

Must go now inspired again and make some sales.

    - Quit spending so much time in this bloody forum and go and do something productive to move your business forward!

There are a lot of things we can Quit that will make our lives better. I choose to use the start method instead of the quit method.

As in start doing something productive the first thing in the morning before you do anything else. I am now doing something productive on my websites before i check my email which usually sidetracks me.

Something that has been helping is I downloaded a clock that chimes every hour. When it chimes i ask myself if what i am doing is something that i should be doing or is there something i could be doing that is better than what i am doing.

    It works.

Whilst quitting negative habits is to be aplauded, it is far from "BS" the adage re "a winner never quits..." or "quitter never wins". Both make logical sense.

What doesn't make logical sense to me is to use one set of quotes as basis for an argument about something totally unrelated.

The two are entirely different scenarios.

Great Post! I initially thought it was going to be about quitting IM, lol. I always thought that quitting is sign of weakness when you're trying to get what you want from life, but you do have to quit the negative aspects to gain anything positive. I couldn't agree more when it comes to quitting doing all those things which are ultimately unproductive. One of the things I've quit doing is spending too much time on the WF. Nothing against the platform at all, except that hours can be lost in browsing, idle chatting etc...

      David,

I think it is a matter of whether time spent on here is at the sacrifice of actaully getting on with the various aspects or your IM business that are truly urgent and important.

Many newbies spend hours on the WF looking for the "magic pill" or silver bullet whereas the money is being made by the action takers out there launching products/websites/ideas/networking etc.

Whilst there is a mountain of very good advice contained in the WF it should be treated with care as if you are not careful it can swallow you up and spit you out days later....well hours anyway

      Stay Strong & Prosper
