How do you deal with pressure?

I've been studying internet marketing for over half a year now, and the struggles I had to endeavour were horrible at first (you can see a forum post I've made almost half a year here).

The only difference between then and now is that I've finally fully understood the structured formula of build a list --> over deliver to list --> promote to list.

See, I already know how to make money online now, so I'm not really posting here for more newb advice. I've built 3 different websites so far, with the first two mainly to establish my experience with SEO for the first website and list building with the second. I've also done a little offline marketing with a little success (there's hardly any small businesses to promote a mobile-optimized website to around here).

Well anywho, as you can imagine I'm not really a common noob; I know a lot by now. But what really bugs me is the pressure that is associated with trying to meet a deadline. Anyone who is trying to gather a set amount of money in a set amount of time knows exactly how I feel. I just KNOW I can get a decent amount of money (maybe not the set goal) before the deadline, but being constantly reminded about how the deadline is getting closer and closer never fails to put me under constant pressure. What's even weirder is here I am, no more than a few hours after updating my signature to link to my new squeeze page, yet I'm still constantly refreshing my google analytics page even though I shouldn't be expecting any visitors just by posting very little in the forums.

Human nature is weird!

Anywho this isn't a thread on how to generate traffic to your squeeze page or for asking any sort of advice at all. I would just like to know of any thing you would personally do to relieve yourself whenever you're under pressure.

And to avoid this post looking like a 'ask and only receive' sort of thing, I'll share one of my methods that do work every now and then: playing video games! Love 'em to bits, and can't get enough of them :p Really works wonders, especially if you're playing a very immersing game like Portal 2 or Journey. Mind it doesn't work ALL the time, especially when you know you have a lot of work that needs to be done.

So how do you deal with pressure, then?

Personally, I love pressure. I thrive under it. Having that deadline looming is what puts me into action because I don't think I could face myself if I failed.

Very few actually have that mindset though.

Now, I won't pretend to be some macho ultra businessman who pushes through everything. The stress gets to everyone, eventually. When I hit my boiling point, I go out for a long walk, take in some scenery and blast the Ipod. Then when I get home, I order a pizza. Best comfort food around.

There are a lot of people who use pressure to their advantage and some who just fall and stay down due to all the pressure that they are having when it comes to making money online.

Lack of money and being afraid of what will happen if they lose their money with no results is the kind of pressure that people stay dead on their tracks and never take the necessary actions to make things happen.

    Hi.

Think about it. Even rocket science requires that you know the fundamental basics.

Consider; pressure is a relative perception, however, a perception is only as significant as an individuals life experience enables it to be.

It might be wise to simply understand, that perceived pressure is relative to how well you know the face in the mirror. Any seemingly overwhelming issues confronted during the life span of your experience, will be due to you and you alone, which will be based on how well you know yourself and or your environment. This reference accounts for your understanding of the condition of time as well.

Dealing with the pressures of workload or effort, is much like mimicking the behavior of an actual pressure cooker with a steam release valve on top. Get one, put it on in the kitchen stove, and watch the top naturally, without effort other than that of the steam trying to escape from the heated pot, bob to and fro without any inducement from you.

The analogy in the case of human activity, is just that. Simply stop for a moment. Bob yourself away from the task-heated steam causing a perceived pressure. Do something else. Do something different (*whether you enjoy it or not), which will capture a bit of your emotional attention, and then return to the business of your prescribed task.

    Tom

p.s.: you'll also intimately discover how well you are able to direct the stimulation's of your emotion. You may or may not want to accept what you find.........

I don't think I handle pressure well. I try to mentally calm myself down and relax before I go into panic mode. I think 75 percent of the time this works. Usually I tell myself that everything is going to be alright. I visualize how I felt before feeling pressure and how happy I will once it subsides. It helps... most of the time.

Mmm.... How do i handle pressure? I usually take a break and start listening to RnB music to calm myself down. Then lie down and surf the net for inspirational stories. Or go on youtube and watch some kind of comedy. I love doing that because it really does take all the stress away especially watching Kevin Hart acting like a fool haha

I'm interested to hear what you do the other 25 percent of the time. I'd imagine the stress compounds at that point too since your normal method was not helpful. The fact that you are here posting lets us know you don't go over the edge though lol, so what's your secret?

Well, I do take breaks away from the computer to relieve the pressure sometimes. Offline, I take breaks, too! I like watching movies, but I'll usually watch only about half one on one day and the other half another day.

Another way I deal with pressure is to plan my days, make written lists and try to keep things as controlled and directed as possible. Then when pressure hits, at least I have a schedule to keep me focused and working through the pressure time.

The problem with having diversions such as games, is that they often usurp your work time. I find that I must be careful not to let a diversion take an excessive amount of time from my intended task.

Pressure is self-inflicted. Many times that deadline comes into play when I failed to focus on the intended task. Lately, I have been able to focus more, and my blog has gone from Alexa 17 million to 1.1 million. I am well aware that many in this forum have very low Alexa numbers, but I am elated that mine are going in the right direction.

So, how do you focus on your intended task? Having a clear plan for the day helps immensely; I use an old-fashioned to do list, has been vital to my efforts. Belief in what I am doing, focussing on my whys for doing it, and reminding myself that this is my passion have also helped.

I would wholeheartedly disagree. Pressure comes from the need to get something done. Pretending it isn't there equates to taking away the urgency needed to solve a problem.

A recipe for disaster in my opinion.

Basically, I perceive pressure as a chance to work more progressively on the things I need to get done.

Pressure is all about perception, and can be controlled at any stage.

We see pressure as a form of negative circumstance that puts high levels of stress on us. Yous till choose how you respond to pressure and how you deal with it.

Pressure is important. It lets us know that there is still something to be done, and that it should be done properly. It drives us to do the things we need to do. Too little pressure and we become lax. But too much pressure and we crack and perform poorly.

One way to deal with pressure, for me, is to relax by sitting down and figuring out how what to do. Ask help if it will make you feel better. Eat a banana and drink some tea. Just dont take too much time relaxing or you could end up more stressed than you were.

Demand is vital. This lets us learn that there's nevertheless anything to be completed, and this it should be completed correctly. This drives us all to do the things we should carry out. Not enough demand along with we all become lax. Although excessive demand along with we all fracture along with carry out improperly.

One fashion to take care of demand, for me personally, should be to take it easy through being seated along with working out how how to handle it. Ask help in the event it will allow you to feel better. Eat any banana along with drink a few herbal tea. Just do not acquire to much time comforting or even you can wind up much more harassed than you used to be. Take impose of your circumstances, never let a scenario acquire impose of a person. Always be intense and also have that will invasion manner with a person. An individual that will stacks up along with normally takes impose of what's taking place can easily control a whole lot. In the event you allows difficulty come to a person, as opposed to upgrading, it may at times broaden directly into bigger versions. And then that contributes much more pressure along with demand directly into your life. Certainly be a head out getter and also have that will mentality. Never steer clear of points, acquire impose just before conditions become nerve-racking problems.
