Are you ready to become successful?

I think there are at least 5 things you cannot do if you want to succeed online. There are for sure more reasons, but here are a couple of them:

1) Lack of a strong enough WHY. I know that some people don't believe in goals and don't set any, but those are usually the grinders. If your ego stands above you, you will never be able to take control of your own online marketing success.

If you don't have a goal, then you better set one right now. If you believe that you are only in business because of the money, you are. But if you chase money, you will never get money. Your focus should never be on earning money, but on contributing value to tasks that will lead towards making money.

2) Believing that you become successful overnight. Success is something that demands insane focus and obsessive work ethic. Most people expect results with very little till no effort. But that's the same thing as asking for something without being willing to take it!

You need to understand that success is perception and an objective. Aim to think about success as something that makes your life better. For a lot people success is money, but it should be more than that.

3) Lack of creativity. Being creative is not a choice but a must. You can't really outsource your creativity to other people. What you can do however, is get highly valuable advice from people that leads to the enrichment of your creativity.

People are saying all the time: "I'm just not a creative person, why am I not more creative"? Being creative is absolutely essential to success. If you have your own business, you need to be creative.

4) Lack of people skills. Even in the online world which is consistently changing, you need to learn how to communicate and connect with people. People find it easier to work by themselves than to work in a team. That's especially true when it comes to teaching someone.

The only way you can really create leverage is if you learn how to communicate, connect, benefit, learn, and teach people. Leverage is all based on mutual effort, not on your effort.

5) Giving up too early. That's something that everyone experiences or has experienced. If you are working on achieving your goal, there is no such thing as failure, only learning.

The reasons why you might be giving yup too early are:
• Unrealistic expectations
• Lack of self esteem
• Lack of skills
• Inability to deal with stress
• Lack of money
• Lack of resources
• Lack of planning

I hope this thread was helpful and that you can improve your mindset!

I would totally agree with this list. And yes, there's probably more don'ts to think of (I guess 'setting unrealistic expectations' and 'lacking planning' often result in giving up early, but are unproductive behaviours by themselves. And they are often the fruit of not knowing the 'why' I think.)
Also, I like how translating these don'ts into do's (hope you don't mind me taking the liberty here), ends up with a strong basic mindset for anyone who wants to become successful:

    -Determine the why
    -Work hard
    -Be creative
    -Communicate
    -Don't give up

There is a difference between wanting something...and really wanting something! If you eat, live, and breathe it...you will do what it takes!

It's what you do when no one is watching
that determines what you will be able to
    do when everyone is watching.

      Hey, good post Gerald.

We see a lot of this stuff, but that's WHY we come to the mind warriors section right?? Reading this makes me feel good about where I'm at, even though I still have a long road ahead of me. Good principles to keep in mind.

    Good stuff.

Here's a key point to remember though - You're never ready for success, you got to be Comfortable. The operative word if 'Comfort'

We can never be ready for success, no matter how many mentors we have, how many books we read or how many companies we start.. the more we do these it expands are comfort zone.

'Comfort Zone' was a term coined by James Newman.

Like when it's your first time asking a girl out - you're scared, second time it's easier, third fourth .. and by your tenth time - you're not even thinking about it - you're comfortable walking upto any girl and start a conversation.

One should consciously make an effort to expand your comfort zone, by intentionally throwing yourself into uncomfortable situations, pressures and new challenges.

This is a trait shared by all successful people.

Great post, interestingly enough, it was only after I started my own business that I realized there was so much creativity in me! I think having the knowledge that I was able to create my own ideas and opportunities..allows you open to daydreaming, creating ideas and then of course, most importantly, executing those ideas!

    Great read, thanks for sharing!

I believe that the most important thing for success, and it was stated by many successful
people, is knowing, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that you will succeed no matter what.

Whatever happens, whatever other people think and tell you, one person must always
believe in success, and that is you, if you believe and persist you will succeed for sure.
