How can you justify that money is not everything.
In a book 15 laws of success, I read a few examples where writer tries to prove that money is everything. But I believe money is not everything. Am I right?

Everybody knows that United States currency is issued with the declaration, In God We Trust.

So why do so many place their focus on the money itself?

Why do they concentrate more on the numbers located in the four corners rather than that declaration?

It seems to me that if the focus was more on that declaration, our world would be so different and a far better place.

I can't help but think how things would be so different in the internet marketing arena as well.

I imagine that internet marketers as a whole wouldn't have been given such a bad rap.

          Spamming wouldn't exist!

Google wouldn't have to spend so much time evaluating and re-evaluating their algorithms so often, and could have kept the Panda in its cage.

So many complaints from marketers having to clean up Panda poo from their sites wouldn't be cluttering up the forums and they could better invest their time in providing value and sharing positive information instead.

I have nothing against money at all. It is a necessity, a requirement to live even, and to save lives.

Money within itself is a neutral tool neither representing good or evil. But the motivating factor behind what we do to accumulate it and what we wish to accomplish with it does come from good or evil.

Do not be deceived because some have deceived their own selves.

When one decides to value money more than anything else, giving it more worth than human life, and begins to covet it doing anything to get more with total disregard to right or wrong, turning their backs on their conscience because they are blinded by greed, then the evil they create abounds and spreads.

It eats away at everything good just as leprosy eats away flesh.

People have enough sense to avoid coming in contact with fellow human beings infested with flesh eating diseases, but not those diseased with soul destroying greed which quickly spreads as fast as a plague. We have the intelligence to put those infested with such diseases in quarantine, to help protect the public, and impede its spreading and causing a killer epidemic. But do nothing of the kind to stop the silent spread and infestation of the very root of all things evil; the love of money.

My point is, if we took the time to read the inscription, before we read the numbers, if we took the time to focus on the value of giving God some trust, we wouldn't have to love the currency, putting all of our trust in it to gain what we really are seeking. We wouldn't breed with evil. We would merely see the money as a tool that can be used for great good or malignant evil and be better equipped to choose if we will rule the currency or let it rule us.

I don't believe for a minute that all believe they are doing good with money, I believe they lie to themselves and believe those lies to soothe their guilty consciences, and they do know deep down that what they are doing is evil. They ignore that still small voice within them revealing the truth to them just as they ignore that inscription. I think it was very wise to use that inscription on money as a way to instill checks and balances when handling it.

It's too bad that it is ignored. Did you ever notice that the word ignorance has "ignor" as its root?

Sorry, didn't mean to rant, but since I did, rant over!

Unfortunately, it does seem to appear so. It goes back to where I stated this in my previous post.

Of course money IS very important, but it's not everything.

What about your health, your relationships and any faith you may have.

I think the real question is "Just how important is money?"

In general, those who have little money tend to think it is more important than those who have plenty.

Once basic human needs are met, money can do many good things if it's in the right hands. You can buy products to educate and entertain yourself or take classes to enrich your life. You can add a little security to your life through investing and insurance.

You can also choose to share it.

Well you can buy a certain kind of love for money!

Do you speak of cash or money in your bank when you say money is everything? I'd rather have 100Kgs of Gold or SIlver than money as the financial Markets and 'money' will one day re-set itself and 'paper money' will be worthless.

The original question is pointless really - You ask anyone if they would like more money then the answer is yes! Anyone that tells you money is not an issue is either telling porkies or Mega-Rich and even then it's still an issue.

Is money everything? - No, but it certainly helps and along with religion, it rules the world

Money for me isn't everything. Yeah, people do need money to make a living but you can't bring you're money with you when you die. And you can't buy or purchase happiness and the love that you give or share to you're loved ones. Knowing that you live your life to the fullest with a very peaceful mind is very priceless.

I like to think that money is not everything but can't deny the reality.

The power of money comes simply from its main characteristic as a universal measure
of value for all other things.

People who have problems that money can't solve (mainly incurable health
conditions) know very well that money isn't everything. They would give all their
money just to get better, but to no avail.

On the other hand, there are people who need expensive medical procedures and they
are able to afford it with money. Even health to certain extent can be bought with money.

Many people who don't have money are happy.

Many people who have lot of money are not happy.

Money is not everything and it can't bring happiness, but it helps.

Love the post and all the comments! Money is the answer to all things King Solomon said. Money is the number one misunderstood form of energy in human history. Federal reserve notes and coins as we know it is not real money, really like all forms of energy it is about your money consciousness along with your vibrationally essence and your alignment of your all your conscious levels. The purpose of money when it was invented by people was speed. So the key is to improve your personal relationship with money, learn the history of money (not as boring as you might think) and have money work for you instead of the other way. I love money! Money is a means to wonderful things (or horrible things if you choose) when I think of money I think of speed and generosity. So to answer the question it is not everything in less it is! Its all about you nothing outside of you controls you life in less you give it power.

I want to make an observation on one thing and ask three questions.
Human beings do not change. Our wants and needs remain constant. The feeling of importance, ability to take care of our families, good health care, peace and harmony are the same things we want today as our forefathers did.

    Now, here three questions...
    1. How were people living before we invented money?
    2. What would be everything to you if you found yourself in the middle of the amazon forest?
    3. How will your lifestyle change if you won a $125 million lottery?

If you evaluate those questions properly you are likely to see what is important in life and how it relates to money.

However, still I have not answered your question: is money everything. Money is just a piece of paper. What is important is what money does to us. The feeling of security, comfort, joy etc . That is what is important.

Very poorly. Life expectancy below 40 years. Diseases were rampant. Basic human needs were rarely met.

      2. What would be everything to you if you found yourself in the middle of the amazon forest?

A satellite phone. Which can be bought with ah... money.

      3. How will your lifestyle change if you won a $125 million lottery?

An increased feeling of security, comfort, joy etc .
      Let's talk Billions.

About 106 Billion people have ever lived.

      94% are dead.

      66% were or are Asian.

Money is a tool. It can be used for good or evil.

But, unlike other tools, if you do not have that tool--money; there is trouble. We need money to function in this society. Our necessities are met, not because of what great hunter/farmer/fishermen we are, but because we can pay for them.

The problem comes into play when people place money at the pinnacle of their lives. Money is not to be worshipped or glorified. It is to be used or saved to help us live good lives.

Money is not everything. Money was given to us by those that understand that with money as an exchange tool we can self determine what our level of comfort and enjoyment can be.

Those "I believe" that think money is everything will never find joy in their life because there will never be enough money to satisfy their own thirst for more.

Clean mind, clean spirit and clean motives toward others can not be purchased with money. These have to be developed from within and then shared with others free of charge

So my point is earn money, but spend some for others and live life happily. Have someone in your life who will be there for you. it might be a good friend, spouse, children somebody who at least shed a drop of tear.

Money is not everything, but it affords you the freedom to do a lot of things.

I was always very driven by money and still am. However, my wake up call came a few years ago, when I became very ill. It made me realize the importance of health, which I had always taken for granted.

Without good health, you can't do the things you enjoy, you can't see the people you love when you want, you might not be able to taste the foods you love, you can't look the way you are used to seeing yourself, you might not have the energy to be your normal charming self, you are not fun to be around.

    Hi,

I believe it is not everything but it IS the solution to most things. Before I started setting up my website for IM, I just wanted to make money and was ready to just put anything together, dish out and make quick quid. However, I realised after listening to advice from people like Nate Rivers, Mark Ling and those Wealth Affiliate guys that, value is first important. If I add value, the money WILL surely come and it'll be constant and not a flash in the pan.

Money isn't every thing as it can only attempt to bring back dying people but there is no guarantee that the attempt will be successful. Money can but you fame but it can't buy you class. It has it's limits.

"Money can't buy happiness" a bit cliche I know but I think thats is true but on the other hand poverty doesn't bring happiness either. I guess what I am trying to say is that money is your driving force or power to do whatever you wish to do in life, its like fuel to a car without it you cannot drive very far.

What if money is just paper?
What if everything you think about money is just one big lie?

I've learned that my concepts about money - making it good, bad, right, and wrong - have kept me from experiencing my true potential.

Instead I look to creating wealth. And wealth is simply income + money management activities. When I manage my income properly, my wealth grows and expands. As my wealth expands, I am happier, more peaceful, and more joyful.

So, if you begin to look at money as just paper, it's impossible for it to be everything.

Of course money is not everything. If fact money is pretty worthless if you compare it to the grand scheme of things. Do you really think the federal reserve cares about that paper money that they tell us to use for debts? No the care about controlling ppl and being the lender. Money only has value because everyone else is using it. And people are so idiotic to think that the reason people exist is just to work to make money to buy stuff that other people make. That's the furthest from the truth and if people were smart they would get away from this industrialized society that we live in. If people were more self sufficient like back before they used money to buy the stupidest things, then they would realize how you really don't need money to live or be happy.

I would love to say that money isn't everything but recently I realized that not only is it everything but without enough money, life can literally crumble. Everything revolves around money. If you don't have money to pay debts then those debts will hunt you down and take everything. I don't know if this sounds bitter but I'm really starting to hate money in general. Maybe if I was rich, I would have a completely different perspective.

Yes, but what am I supposed to do to get rich. Some people say you have to have dreams. But I have always analyzed that most of the time when I have plans, they go wrong and I get nothing. But sometimes I get or earn money from the sources I've never thought about. It makes me believe there's some hidden force which is working behind all this.

Money is not everything, there are still a lot of things that money can't buy. Love, the air that we breathe and not even our life, not even peace of mind. We only need money to get all the things that we want in life, such house, cars, travel and others.

It is if we rely it to live on this earth. I mean think about it. Do we even barter stuff anymore like the old days? We don't trade rocks for food. We now have this universal money system, that we rely on so much to live.

There are other aspects in life that are much more important than money, namely your health and family

Seeing some of the comments on this thread give me a headache...

"Money doesn't buy you peace of mind"

Yes it does. Simply HAVING a surplus of money tremendously impacts how you perceive so many different aspects and situations of your life.

If you're driving a run-down car back and forth from work every day, and you're afraid it might break down, you're not afraid because it would be inconvenient, you're afraid because you're thinking "Oh, God, if my car breaks down I have no way of paying for repairs! How will I get to my job?"

Having an abundance of money reduces stress tremendously, it allows you to provide amply for the people you love, and it serves as a security blanket if you or anybody you love gets sick or injured. With money you can buy the best doctors, the best treatments, the best medication, and know that you're doing everything in your power to help that sick or injured person.

There are people who HATE themselves for not having the money to take care of the people they love, who feel embarrassed, sick, and humiliated for having to ask to "borrow" some cash from their family just to get by.

No, money isn't everything, not by any means, but in my years as a personal development expert I can tell that there are people who've posted on this thread that will NEVER experience financial abundance because of how they currently think about money. What's even more ironic is plenty of them have promotions in their signatures that are trying to sell things to you!

The things people have to say about money here is very strange indeed, considering that this is the Warrior Forum, the place where people gather to learn how to MAKE MONEY.

It's expected that most people would say money isn't everything, which is true, because it's simply a means to an end in a life which is ultimately temporary... but it's everything else that's said along with it that tells volumes about them, and even whether or not they have a prayer of achieving financial independence, other than the lottery.

Money is not everything. That sentence in itself calls for a million interpretation. It is a very relative concept. For those who have it all, money isn't everything as there are other intangible things money can't buy like peace of mind, love, contentment, and happiness.

On the other hand, for those who have less in life, they want money and for them money is everything! It is their passport to success, getting whatever that makes them happy, and will give them prestige.

Well, to sum it all up, I think I want to be someone who's in the middle. Someone acknowledging that I need money and must work hard to be financially stable, but at the same time I have my set values I adhere to which puts money aside and all the tangible things in the backseat to give way to my top priorities like family, friendship, love, happiness, and contentment. Need I say more?

Money is not everything. It cannot bring happiness always. It gives us solvency but solvency doesn't mean happiness. Solvency doesn't mean to get all the things you want.
