There is no "right" or "wrong" way. It is YOUR business and you know how much time you have and can or want to devote to the business. Some do it 16 hours a day and some do it 16 hours a week. It's your choice.

This. To put it simply, just put out 110% effort every day. Whether it takes you 8 hours to do that or 18 doesn't matter. Just figure out how much time you need to put in for your specific goals, and go by that.

I totally agree. There's no right or wrong. Having a business especially when it's still new, you have this trial and error method. If something works good for your business then go for it. If working 14 hours a day works for you then do it. It all depends on you.

You've got to love what you do to make the real money. If you find yourself able to do 14+ hours per day with a smile on your face, then you are on the right track. If you dread your work it will be hard for you to add value.

Agree completely. There are many ways to make money, but only so many
things that we do enjoy doing AND make money in the process.

When I work sometimes I forget the time, I don't feel hunger, I don't feel tired.

When you immerse yourself in what you love doing, wonderful things happen.

They say if you love what you do you don't work a day in your life. Even if you spend 12 hours a day doing your work if you like what you do you it should not matter how many hours you spend on it.

I ask the question because i hear some business mentor said that its not good to work more than 8-9 hours a day - BUT - 8-9 hours a day is not enough for me.

From a perspective of physical health, I can see the thinking behind it. That's why I work 8 hours per day myself. Putting that much stress on your body and mind for extended periods of time can be bad for you. Like I said before though, no two people are exactly the same. Some are able to go for longer periods of time before seeing averse effects .It's all about how much risk you are willing to take to get the necessary work in.

The most important thing is that you HAVE to enjoy what you are doing. Life is way to short to be working 14 hour days and not enjoy the time that you are working. Starting a business is tough (I've done it 4 times). It always takes longer than what you think. There are going to be some days that you have the energy and motivation to put in 14 hour days. For me, when I can't find the motivation, I let myself leave it alone for a bit.

I know some people can charge through it but unless you're enjoying your day, you've lost something more precious than the money you might make in the future.

Further to what I said and what others agreed on, it also depends on the day and what tasks you have to do. I find some days I have lots to do and other days I have very little to do and can have more rest. Take it as it comes and maintain control and you'll be fine. Don't listen to mentors because they will do what they need to do for THEIR business. YOU need to do what is NEEDED for yours.

If you look at the percentage of small businesses that succeed the owners will tell you that in many cases their long hours what got them through the beginning. While I've reached a point where I can keep a better balance, there were many years where balance was sacrificed. If you are not willing to give 150% atleast initially then you may be better off being an employee rather than an employer. - Just my two cents.

The right way is whatever works best for your schedule, budget, skill level, etc. There's no one-size fits all answer.
