Yes. I quit. My job was a horrible, low-paying nightmare.

I jumped in with both feet.

I didn't just quit straight up. I built a cash flow by working till 2AM every night then heading to my day job the next day. 5 months later, I quit my job. If you're doing it as a "hobby" you'll never get out of your situation. Create vision, set a goal, and execute.

Great advice, make sure you have cash flow as previous warriors have said. Then quit that job & live the dream, one thing I love about working online. Their are so many places with open wireless, so having a new scenery every now & then is great!

nice one slackoff now im doing this too,
wake at 7 work at 9 to 5, go home at 6 and be my own boss at 7 to 2am. its a very interesting experience. I feel every sweat and tears come to my skin is worth every penny of my bank account

Im trying to raise the courage to quit my job and work full-time online. I need to make about $2000 a month to cover what I make in my current job, which I feel is doable. I also need to convince my wife!
I also feel that while someone has another job a lot of the time it stops them really from going for it online, because they have that safety net.

I waited until I was making enough to comfortably cover my bills before leaving my day job. Sure quitting can be a great motivator; but the stakes (homelessness/starvation) are a lot higher than I was willing to gamble on.

I haven't worked as an employee or traded time for money in years, and I highly doubt there will be a time that I would do it again. My experience has been that the farther I get from the standard, expected way of life in our over-taxed rat race of a failing consumer-driven economy, the happier I am. I'm the trustee of a couple private, not-for-profit foundations, and everything new that I do in commerce is set up as a private express trust under the common law. In other words, I've not only left the workforce, I've left the system. There's a learning curve to what I'm talking about, and it's not for everyone, but it's worth looking into.

Hey Kulale, I am more in a similar boat like you. LOL! I am also a software professional working for a corporate. But my goal is to quit my job by end of 2012!

As far as I know, most of the people out here are not doing this IM full time although most of theirs goal is to get rid of their job and do this full time. Almost all the successfull marketers, gurus here are doing this full time (which is the one main reason why they are successful). Everybody wants to quit their job and make this their main income stream. Also, that this has great potential for earnings, everybody are trying. But success comes to those who stay persistant and take ACTION, rather than endless learning and looking for the next shiny object.

When you're on your own and have no family (especially kids) to depend on your financial support, I think taking the leap can be a hard step but a great motivator. You can wait till you make enough money, but will you ever be motivated to try hard enough and get out of the comfort zone?

If you do have family depending on you financially, then it's more complicated I think.

I quit my job two years ago to become a freelance writer. It's hard and it takes a lot of self-discipline. But you know the freedoms that come with it

I haven't quit my job. You just need to have time management. But if your not happy with what you're doing, then you may consider quitting. Your performance may be affected if your not contented and enjoying with what you do.

Started building my list and doing a pretty big project with a friend. Right now, all of my list building money is going back into making the list bigger.

People often find that they work better when they have a goal--to quit their job. Once that goal is reached, it can be dangerous. When you quit that job, your IM work becomes far more important. But, the human tendency is to kick back and relax. One needs to learn a whole new skill, going to work when you don't absolutely have to. ...So, don't quit until you are very sure you are on firm financial footing for an extended period of time without the job! ...And, when you do quit, discipline yourself to continue with your IM work.

Yes, I quit my job and took on online/offline marketing full-time.

It was scary at first, but exciting!!! It's funny for the first couple of days, I didn't know what to do with my time lol Not that I didn't know what action to take but it was just so bizarre to have my time back, and own it, since I've been in corporate in a couple of years.

So make sure you have a solid schedule and treat it as a job. Schedule your work time, breaks, lunch, etc. Keep focused and NEVER give up on your goals..they're all achievable!

Yes, I did quit a day job specifically to pursue my home business interests, but those interests included a developing freelance writing career in addition to Internet Marketing as it is known here in the Warrior Forum.

So, my Internet Marketing interests have been supported by my freelance writing income. The good news is, month by month the IM income is improving.

I would not recommend quitting your day job unless or until you have sufficient IM income ... or you have a solid marketing plan and a whole lot of confidence in your ability to focus and work hard, hard, hard at it.

I've been thinking about quitting my job seriously throughout the past week. I know I'm not making enough yet online to do this, but there are too many negative things happening recently that has forced me consider this option soon. I would like to focus on my new website all day, every day. I am very scared to take this leap though. Despite my confidence, it's a huge risk.

You could consider Internet Marketing on a part time basis and once you make some income replacing your job income (I'm assuming you are working) then consider quitting.

I knew I had to quit my job as it was destroying my body. Then as I was pulling off of the highway onto the job site I got side-swiped but some chick doing over 100k while talking on her phone.

I got a tiny settlement. Very small, but enough (along with a student loan) so I could go back to school. I got my "C" ticket in welding and then realized that was the last thing in the world I wanted to do. So I went back to school again, but this time I took something that was more related to what I really wanted to do with my life - Computer graphic design.

I didn't want to be a graphic designer, and the fact is I suck at it. What I wanted to do was work online.

Once I finished the CGD course I couldn't find a job so I started my own business offering website design and seo services to local businesses. Working with clients was a pain, but I lucked out because I started a membership site and it made it possible for me to go back to school (once again). I love school and I also just recently discovered my passion which is programming.

Life is good.

My membership site pays the bills and allows me a lot of freedom with how I spend my time. I have been creating products, but after I get the ones I have in queue out of the way I am focusing on software development.

if enough of you financially for the next 3 to 5 months is sufficient, I think you can get out of work to dedicate themselves fully to be the boss

but my experience as an IM, I am working offline to leave work early morning and evening for IM Online. It would not hurt if our sales conversion sales rate declined in IM

Do no quit your job yet.

If you want to run a business, do it part-time first. Keep the full-time job and quit when your business have given more revenue than your full-time job.

Running a business, while you have no sources of income will just make you become stressful. This stressful will make you less productive. It will be more fun doing the business part-time.

Look at it this way....

If you wait for the perfect time to quit....it might not happen....

Let's say you wait until you have enough money to quit....months could go by....even years....and your in the same place as you are right now....

Worse yet...after 3 years they fire you...and you are left with no money no job....

You need to do whats in your heart and destiny....

Most people don't have a lot of motivation to make money online...so they don't...

Imagine if your fired or you quit your job...and only have $100 left...you'll find plenty of motivation then wont you?

Let's say you do quit...you get extremely motivated...in fact you make $100,000 by the end of the year...

If you would have stayed at your job...you would never have been motivated...and still barley making enough money to pay all the bills...

I remember when I quit my job...I was making about $60k a year in the US...little over average..nothing big....they said I was crazy....that I was stupid....

I went at this full time...and have make as much as I made an entire year in a month now...

If I never took that leap...I doubt I would be where I am at today...

Don't wait around until the perfect time...it will never come....

I don't know if quiting your job will lead towards more motivation to succeed in internet marketing. You should feel a strong desire to become successful in internet marketing. If you're not 100% committed with or without a job you will never succeed.

If I were you, I'll definitely do something about it. LEVERAGE IT.
Sharpen it till it bears 'FRUIT'.
You can only quit your current job once your passive income surpasses you your LIABILITIES - The BILLS you have to PAY month to month.

Once you're already on that level, you may invest the money in property.
So you will get passive ( without working the traditional way ) income every month .- RENTAL INCOME.

With the RENTAL INCOME, you may build your ONLINE team

I'm sure within two years or more you could resign your current job.

I just graduated from college and had been working online while I was studying for about 4 years. And now, I'm under-employed, but I happy and I earn really well, I also get to manage my time - though I would still, if ever given a chance to work accordingly to my degree.

I think its just about which do you give importance to, earning more or doing what you love. So, which one do you prefer?

I quit my full time job around a year ago and I did it by working endless hours on top of a day job. I think with anything if you dedicate yourself and believe in yourself you can achieve anything.

You should use your coding knowledge to build your own products. You will be able to ditch the day job quick. Team up with someone who knows how to market the products and you do the coding.

I just quit being a dentist one year after starting IM (earlier than planned), I have no savings, just finished paying off the student loan (after 11 years) and was driven to succeed online because I hated my job! I was able to work part time as a locum for a year which got me used to lower income, but gave me those wide open days to work 16 hours a day online.

Right now I earn in a month, online, what used to take a week (when I worked) but I am happy and my bills are paid. Or were til my engineering hubby just got laid off (actually he has 2 more weeks to work) but he is taking the plunge with me, he's not looking for another job. He is taking a crash course in IM and is going to project manage my business and make it more efficient, while starting his own projects. He doesn't want big business to be in control of his fate again.

We'll no longer trading time for money, just using our own native wit to feed, clothe and house ourselves. We are getting costs down, selling our big hobby farm and moving to a smaller place where we can still grow our own food, we are selling the new vehicles with payments, getting an old truck and will be happy to live on less and be free and off that treadmill for ever.

We know we will be fine, we have been working and earning profit for other people all our lives, I think it's time to keep the profit for ourselves now we have figured out how to make it!

I say, if you can find a way to wean yourself off your whole income and all the things you think you need (or that you only need to feel better about doing a job you loathe) you can be free much faster. Once you are free, the sky is the limit and you can have it all back if you ever want it, and more.

I believe that follow your heart and do the things/job that you are enjoying will be the greatest achievement in your life....

i've done the whole quit your day job before having a thriving business gig before, I crashed and burned, suffered. Could not pay rent, didn't have enough money for food, I really learned life lessons (including internet marketing lessons) the hard way. The second time around I got a job, I saved money, used the job to fund my online business. I wasn't going to quit until I make more money online than at my job for 6 consecutive months, once that happened I quit the day job and was a free man.

Always remember, if this is what u want to do, look at the job as a means to an end. It is their to sustain you and your business. It is nothing more than a start up tool you will use to pay for the expenses of your business.

I only worked part-time in a retail chain (though I was getting almost full-time hours..) and decided it was more trouble than it's worth. Seriously, retail is horrible and employees are underpaid for the crap they have to deal with. Anyway, quit months ago before I even had a good IM plan. I realized how idiotic that was and needed to find a way to make an equivalent income as soon as possible. Realized I could make more than the part-time job just by writing articles. It's tedious sometimes and I do work long if not longer hours depending in my attention span, BUT those hours are whenever I want! I can go eat when I'm hungry, make coffee every hour of the day, and I don't have to deal with anyone's demands.

You still should have a plan before quitting though.
