Why 99% Internet Marketers Fail ?

There are those who get in to internet marketing with all excitement. They have an idea, a proper plan. They get started with all excitement. Dreaming about those gold and diamonds that awaits them at the other side.

They start working hard. They keep on working hard and continue the hard work for 1 month.. 2 months... 3months.... 3.5months.... 4months.... 4.5months...

When there is a delay in seeing the expected result...

- By the end of 3 months, they start doubting if it still works,
- By the end of 3.5 months they start skipping work days,
- By the end of 3.5 months they start buying new e-courses that teaches the newest make money strategy,
- By the end of 3.7 months they lose focus on the original plan they were working on,
- By the 4th month - they just don't care about the original plan, but just want to try out this new strategy,
- By 4.5months they Quit...

And start working on the new strategy...

Not realizing that the gold and diamonds they were dreaming about when they started working their original plan is just one step ahead, waiting for them at the end of 5th month's work...

Then the cycle continues...
One strategy after another...
And never patient enough to see the gold at the end...

Result... Another success story, that never gets written...

Wasted many years... Never seen success... They start thinking nothing works for them...

Stop... Stop... Stop...

It's a lie...I know it, because I've been there and done that. If I am right, this is what happens with 99% of people that get in to internet marketing. This is why they fail...

Who will take a bold decision today to -

1. Stick to your plan
2. Stay focused &
3. Never give up until the gold and diamonds show up at the end...

I've made that decision. How many wants to join me today ? If you do...

Welcome to the 1% that will survive to see the light at the end of the tunnel...

Wishing You All success...

True that! Nothing is more important in IM than sticking to what you have chosen. All the thinking needs to be done prior to venturing into a particular area. Once you're in it - swim with the force. Atleast that is what got me the little success I got.

      I agree completely.

This is why: if someone is already making money in your niche, then you're not making money because you're not doing it right.

If you aren't, keep trying until it works.

Move onto something else and take your problems with you.

There is a nice Chinese fable which goes something like this:

A farmer once planted a bamboo seed on to the ground and then the watered
and fertilizers on to it took care of it for the whole growing season. At
the end of the season the farmer noticed that the seed did not
germinate and did not show up any signs of a sprout so much as an
    inch off the ground.

Without losing hope he kept on watering it for the second season and
took care of it. Still nothing happened. This went on for the next two
seasons and on the fifth season the farmer noticed that the seed
germinated and grew into a bamboo tree as high as ninety feet in
    about six weeks.

The moral of the story is that no matter how worse you think your
predicament is, don’t give up hope. Keep at your work, you may never
know you are actually on the path for success and that might just be
around the corner. Had the farmer lost hope and picked the seed out
of the ground he would have lost the tree but he did not and he kept
his patience and got his reward for it at the end of the firth year.

Haha this post reminds me of how I started this journey about 2 years ago. The lifestyle I dreamt of venturing into IM was not what I saw, and my hard drive literally had up to 50G of different infoproducts.

I really thought hard and long before I decided to take the bull by the horn and build a list. That gave me my huge break, otherwise it would have been the picture you painted above for me.

Guys, build a list. It cuts the whole journey by 90%.

Great advice. If I could turn back the clock to day one of working online for a living, I most certainly would have started with building a list.

Couldn't agree more many people just quit in first few months. They don't realize not everyone succeeds with same speed. Some succeed fast some succeed slow.

People loose faith very soon and hence they end up with nothing

Create a plan, focus, follow through, and if aWSO helps accelerate it significantly get it, otherwise..get back to work!

True... Among those 50,000, I wish there is a way to figure out how many are buying new make money strategies, while already working on a solid plan.

It would have been lot easier to prevent them from buying more strategies, which then prolongs their success...

Great post and I love the picture!

I finally started making money on-line after sticking to one thing until it worked for me. I don't like the business model so I'm learning new things now, but I see why people go through this cycle. I was browsing WF for the longest time before I seriously got started in IM and what resonated with me was "...stick with one thing until it works and don't fall victim to the shiny objects syndrome (SOS)".

SOS is dangerous and I try my hardest to stay away from all the shiny stuff out there (I can't help it sometimes though).

So true. It all starts with mindset. Then action follows naturally.

Most people want to have something so they do something to have it. The order that works is be-do-have, not have-do-be (or do-be-have or any other order). First, focus on being the one you want to be, then do the things that are true to that, then you will have all you need to be how and what you choose. None of these works reliably without the other, and be-do-have is the only order that reliably works.

I have SO much love for this post! That picture says a thousand words..

In the past, I was a perfect example of an "opportunity seeker," I would jump from opportunity to opportunity constantly telling myself.. right.. this is it now, give it everything and succeed! Only to be drawn away by another well written sales letter with fancy cars and financial promises.

I've learnt SO much from these experiences so I really don't regret them, although if you're reading posts such as this and continue to do so, then you will end up regretting it because you're being given free information and if you choose not to use it and get burnt, on your head be it..

Perseverance really is so important in this industry, many people don't see internet marketing as a "REAL" business, they think that just because it's all online and is all done on a computer, that it's easy and not hard work.. these people couldn't be further from the truth!

Truth is, all businesses, on or offline should be approached in the same way, with a system in place that will guide you along the way, and with the right ATTITUDE! That attitude is never give up!

All the best and to our success,

This is the very reason why no matter how tough and difficult things can get in IM, being persistent is very likely to pay off. Plus even if you keep failing and failing, at least you'll learn about what doesn't work. Just think about the story of Thomas Edison and his experience with the invention of the lightbulb

That's really true and actually happen to me at first as well. The very first course I bought was Bring the Fresh, many of you might know about it, so I started building websites using BTF method but I constantly kept stumbling upon other internet marketing products and eventually that completely shifted me off original tracks. I still got extra knowledge from those products but then again did it worth that much money?

    Here is what I think:

Find a coaching program that has very high reputation. Follow that program exactly then see the results. For many coaching programs there is some space for improvement, so as you go and the see results look for things that can be improved. Maybe certain tasks can be automated? - get a software or outsource it
Maybe you found that doing something in different sequence gives more results? - go for it

SO my point is to follow what you have learned and don't go too far from that but always look for things that you can improve on

    Just my opinion!

Spencer your graphic is definitely worth 1000 words. My cousin used to sell a book called "Baby Sleep Tips", and he broke even on it, and thought it was a failure. I told him this was a great achievement, and that he should put the customer into his backend funnel. Yet he was convinced that he failed and that it wasn't for him. So he quit the site that very same day.

This is basically the first step to succeeding online. Newbies if you get a sale and you break even on it.. do not look at it as a failure. That one customer could be worth hundreds or thousands of dollars for you in the long run.

There are natural laws that govern your success.

The biggest is sowing and reaping. You need to sow to reap a harvest. Meaning you need to work to succeed. if you don't sow, you can't expect a harvest.

Also you can't sow and expect to reap at the same time. There is a time before you can expect a harvest. The way most people do is they sow a seed (do a work) and don't wait until the harvest season...

    This is a biblical principle...

Genesis 8:22 - While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.

When I was a newbie, unsuccessful, and suffering from information overload, there is this IM guru who mailed :

"People who fails IM are those who don't make any money within 1 year since they started"

That "definition" made me mad as hell. Damn, who the hell are you judging me I'm a freaking failure -- just because I don't make $$ within 1 year span? I'm not failing, I'm just not finding the right path yet! I only fail when I quit! -- this is the mindset that saved me from actually quitting. But actually I'm grateful that guru "mocked" me and ignited my anger that time, he had motivated me

One of the main key to success is perseverance. To achieve success you should go on and on, even if you don't see results. If you quit one project, you will most probably quit the next one too.

Success might be sometimes instantaneous, but most often it is a product of planning, working and persevering.

If you have faith in what you do, have motivation and ambition, an open mind to make changes and improve, and the self discipline to continue, sooner or later you will achieve success.

Never ever give up! It seems so many beginners I talk to tell me the same stories. How they put in days, weeks of long days building a project (website, landing pages, sales funnels, campaigns...) and once release their hard work, if it does not perform well right out of the gates they give up and move on..

**RULE** Put in (at least) 2x the work following through with your idea/venture as you did planning/creating.

As Spencer said you create your own luck. If you have an idea and follow it with a burning DESIRE and absolute FAITH then no obstacle is going to stop you getting what you want. Make a plan, set goals, work your your ass off everyday until what you are trying to achieve is realised, that's persistence. Forget about jumping from one idea to the next make one thing work and make you money then move on.

We all have the same opportunity to become what we want in life despite being from poor background or having disability or what ever excuses people (harsh I know) make to say its not for them. That what ever they are given in life that is there lot. Why do you want to settle for less...? Believe it or not but a lot of people are unsuccessful in realising their goals because they are scared of having a lot of wealth, scared of success.

If you truly want to have that which you desire, start with the most powerful and priceless thing you have YOUR MIND. Work on your mindset everyday and things will change for you if you have that burning desire to change and mixed with faith its very potent stuff. Keep up with positive influences in your life and stay away from people who say you cant do something. Believe in yourself first before anyone else can. Live life the way you want and not for anyone else period.

I hope that help you guys out, Im no perfect person nor am I saying this to preach to anyone. Just some things that's working for me, past experiences and books that I have read. Just ask if you want to know what they are.

        That's a good post.

I believe Internet Marketing is one niche where majority of people have to endure hardships and face challenges, especially in form of family members, friends, relatives etc who don't believe Internet Marketing can create wealth. Majority of the people entering internet marketing are young and still doing their college... (Disclaimer: I may be wrong)

For anyone in that stage, reading this post... I want to say...

Never Give Up... You have mountains to climb...

I think that after entering in the internet marketing business with a lot of capital in your hand, you shouldn't have a problem with traffic generation. You can check out programs such as Google Adwords, Facebook Ads, Bidvertiser, and Adbrite to simplify the task of traffic generation.

I read about a story that reminds me of this somewhere... A man goes out west during the gold rush, buys some land and strikes gold (a small amount to start).

He goes back to his home on the east coast and convinces his family to move out west and spend their savings on excavation machinery to dig up the rest of the gold.

After mining out the rest of the gold the man had originally found, the family searched long and hard but did not find more gold. They decided to quit and sold their expensive equipment for cheap to a local.

The local had the smarts to ask an expert about how best to proceed in his search for gold, and the expert to him that the previous owners had depleted the original vein of gold and were only three feet from another enormous one!

The point is, had the original family kept digging for only three more feet, they would have succeed in their quest to find gold and would have become rich beyond their wildest dreams had they not quit.

Many of you probably already know this story, and it is true, but the main idea remains - don't quit, you never know how close you are to striking gold.

because people get bored on the old things and want to try something new because it looks exciting, but it is a crap, a lie, and a side track.

Success just means doing some simple and right things repeatedly. It's that simple.

Welcome to the 1%, that won't quit...

It's really true that Internet marketing involves a big amount of faith. May be more that any other business. It's all a faith game - building websites thinking they will make you money, expecting visitors, then expecting that the visitors will buy or take action. Faith is indeed one big factor...

    Agree on everything.. but

I tried for 2 years ... and I did nothing.

Now I became clever. I admit I can't do it, but want to work with people who CAN do it !

Don't fail to see the thing you are not good at.

You see you may try beating mike tyson at boxing but you will probably never manage.

Mathematically how many of you can make any significant amount of money ? Not sure if there are any real statistics.

It seems it is mostly people saying ... I got millions , thousands.

In reality all he was doing was tell you "I made millions" and people seemed to wonder how did he do that and then paid for information ... but the real money maker is making them pay for that alleged information.

Here's my take on why most people fail in a similar thread:

    http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ml#post6245080

In summary, I believe these are the most important reasons:

    1. By default, the great majority will always fail, and only minority will succeed

    2. People are unwilling to make the effort and do what needs to be done

    3. People are not taking action

      Hello To All,

I think one major reason people still fail to take action is that they are afraid of stepping out of their comfort zones. Yes they might take action only up to the point where they are still comfortable. But when they are asked to do something they are not familiar with or felt uneasy, their usual reactions are usually hesitations and procrastinations...And before they know it, the focus and interest in pursuing such action is no longer there.

      Robert Kiyosaki said it best...

"People are not rich because they want to be comfortable."

We agree that we should not give up, but let me point out something.

There is no reward for pounding your head against a brick wall. That would be something you would want to quit doing, immediately!

I have, from time to time, had to step back and analyze my work and the results. Am I beating my head against a brick wall? Do I need to make adjustments?

Quit, NO!!! But, make adjustments when my plan isn't working...absolutely!!!

    excellent advice...

I've also found that it's vital to be aware of your thoughts, emotions and your actions. Your thoughts create your world, so make sure your working on your mindset at the same time as taking actions.

Working in the outside world without working on the mind is a deadly mistake and can cost you a lot of time, energy and money.

You are very true Robbiex, Thoughts really create your future as it says in Proverbs 23:7 - As a man thinks in his heart, so is he. So never think defeated thoughts. Always dream big. And make proclamations everyday, I do it by talking out loud the promises of God for my life. Because "life and death are in the power of your tongue".

Whatever wrong thought patterns you may be having. Once you start speaking out loud the word of God regularly. Those words will go out like soldiers in a battle and will not return empty handed. I believe that the word of God that created heaven and earth, has the same creative power in it even today.
