If you're anywhere like me, your mind is probably over flowing with random ideas and new ways to make money online. I have had this problem for some time now.
I learned quick to not exceed my limits anymore and only work on about 3 projects at a time. A couple years ago I had so many ideas and had fragmented execution nothing was really ever fully completed.
I took a step back and looked at what I was doing and understood at the time I needed to work on only one project and get it profitable. So I did. I worked on just one project for 3 months and proved to myself I can see a project through into sustained profitability. It was a site generating only a low $x,xxx per month but it was better than nothing.
Along the way I picked up some great tools I wanted to share with everybody (which are all free). To help with ideas I use software called Evernote.
Any idea that's ever popped into my head has been written in my affiliate notebook. I have plenty of ideas sitting waiting to be executed. The list is long but that's good.
Evernote also has an iPhone and Android app. I have sat in bed restless thinking about new creative ways to make money online. Once I thought something was good enough to log I roll over and punch it in my phone to log it.
The next thing I learned to do was manage my tasks. Without a clear path I found myself on forums all day, facebook, twitter, blogs an the like. I found that if I lay the groundwork the night before I would be very productive the next day. I guess it's something about seeing the list and marking off the stuff you did. You can see the progress which I think helps tremendously.
I use some free online software called Trello which is also free. The have things called boards which allow you to organize everything. There's three sections To Do, Doing and Done.
The best thing about Trello is its ability to add other people by email address. You can assign tasks to other people and even attach documents to the tasks if needed.
And last but not least, I totally agree with this thread about not telling people about your goals.
I used to share my goals with lots of friends. I was so amped about new stuff and its ability to generate lots of revenue etc. Anyways, for some reason something would always fall through.
I learned to keep my mouth shut and plug away at what I"m doing. The only person I tell my ideas and goals to are my wife anymore. I also found that most friends and family don't have a clue as to what you're even talking about.
My father in law, for example, thinks the whole industry is some sort of pyramid scheme and that I'm wasting my time. I used to get so excited about our projects I'd spill the beans over dinner and always get comments like "Hey, I heard a few companies are hiring around the area" blah blah blah.
I used to let it totally wreck my mood for some reason. I'm sure many of you can relate very well to that. So when somebody asks me what I do anymore I just tell them I build websites . I hope this information will help you in your journey to make money online.
