Let me just admit that it is often rare that I shower in the morning (I'm hoping stay@home parents to young children can relate...lol). I'm not typically in the best of moods either, and often feel as though I could sleep for another 5 hours. Usually I fiddle around the house, and then the kids are up and about. Before I even realize it, the day has escaped me, and I feel as though I've accomplished very little because I've had to play "catch up" all day.
My husband later sent me an email telling me that he loved how positive I started my day. It then hit me that I've been such a downer in recent days, and much of it is because of how I start my day. How you start your day often sets the tone of how the rest of your day will go.
So... what's changed?
Well, most recently I've committed myself to really truly acknowledging everything that I am grateful for in life.
I've also committed myself to going to bed a little earlier so I can get more hours of sleep. I've committed myself to waking up earlier so that I can get a shower in first thing - which wakes me up, starts my engine, AND helps me get into the right frame of mind for a productive morning.
Plain and simple: I have committed myself to starting my day on a more positive note.
My kids are happier, because I'm much more engaged, thus making me happier.
Something as simple as changing the way you start your day can do wonders for your success - both personal and business.
How do YOU start your day to ensure a more positive outcome by the time you lay down to sleep?
