WHY Have You Chosen the Entrepreneurship Lifestyle?

Is it the money? The freedom? The chance to control your own destiny, not let some schmuck boss do that for you? I'm just interested to hear people's "WHY" statements.

    • After many years of working hard for someone elses business, there has been some gratification from the pats on the back and the broken records. Recognition is great, but at the end of the day, my back doesen't feel any better, and those trophies from years ago are just collecting dust in my closet.

Now that I run my own business, all of my efforts affect me and my family directly. The rewards for working hard now take shape in the form of the mighty dollar. Instead of being thanked by superiors or work associates, it's my wife, and my children who praise me.

Going on vacation, splurging on awesome birthday gifts, or random weekend celebrations ... these are the things that the entrepreneurship lifestyle have given me.

Because ever since I was little I've wanted to be my own business man, wear a suit, and carry a briefcase. Granted, my idea of being a business man that I had as a child has changed somewhat but the general ideas are still there. Its what I love and what I've always wanted to do.

All of the above reasons are pretty good. For me, I love living carefree. Not having to answer to anybody, not having to wake up at any specific time. While success doesen't go hand in hand with entrepeneurship, if you can connect the two of them together, the elimination of stress is probably the best bonus. =D

Definitely freedom - and for me in particular, it gives me the ability to continue to stay home with my kids so that I get to be the one who see's all of their firsts, hears all of their laughs, and engages in all that they do.

    Good for you Liz ^

Great that you have the time to spend with the kids! Life is too short to be at the office all day when you have a family.

Entrepreneurship to me is like having a pair of weekday wings. I get to decide how I wish to lead my own life, hang out at Starbucks to work on a weekday, spending time with my baby girl (soon to be born)

    Hi there,
My "why" is to have freedom to help others...in helping others & meeting their needs, I create opportunities, I teach, share & give. The reward for me is total freedom & financial blessings...that is how God works it!

It is the freedom because you choose your lifestyle for you to work. You can work without any restriction.

NOW it's time for me to ASK YOU one question
What's the story with the CAT?

I've chosen it because it is one of these "careers" where you can make a major companies' CEO salary without having to have degrees and letters following your name and without having to take charge of a major corporation to do so.

And for the lifestyle and all that other fun stuff too.
