A little bit discouraged. Need some words of encouragement.

I just love this challenge.

Man, I can understand where you're coming from...
My family is from the US and they all have a 97%er's
mindset, still.

I've had to deal with the "Why don't you just get a...
job...?" type questions billions of times!

Especially when spurts of money would come and go,
my mom was always quick advise going to work for
someone to get a "steady paycheck."

NO FIGGIN WAY MOM!! I CAN DO THIS!!!!!!!

The only thing we can do as go-getters and independent
thinkers is to keep going for what we want.

Put the blinders on.

Have a narrow-minded, pig-headed attitude that you
will do the things you set out to do.. it's the way of the
warrior! You just HAVE to conquer that thing you're
challenged by.

In this case, it's a young business...

Just getting going... Your fighting all this resistance...
Resistance is coming at you from all angles...

- Shoe-string budgets [Needing profits for overdue bills]
- Naysayers [the crabs]
- Learning Curves [mistakes/trial and error]

You just have to keep pushing, man... like, for me...
it's this burning desire to prove that I can do something
that 9/10 people [who swear it can't or shouldn't be done]
could never actually do.

The key for you is to keep your momentum.

Keep going, keep fighting the resistance... If you do, you
will have a breakthrough moment where things seem
like they're a whole lot easier. When that happens, make
sure and take a moment to wave hi to all the naysayers
and thank them for the motivation to WIN at this financial
independence thing!

Push on, Warrior! Claim victory for yourself!

Its the best challenge of a life of IM'ers whenever somebody don't believe in you specially when it come from your parents. Prove to them its worth spending time and energy. Through IM, you can achieve financial freedom.

Yeah. I just got to prove them wrong. Get faster results. But at the same time, it has to be stabilized. People build their businesses so fast that it falls fast too.

Sorry that your family is not supporting you in your entrepreneurial line of work.
I understand their concern, but as I wrote in my blog post, "most people do not know and understand how much is involved in building a Business from the ground up. They may believe that you can simply create a website or insert an advertisement into the newspaper and the potential customers will immediately contact you to get Your Business.
Obviously WE know that this is not true. If you are in a situation, where you feel pressured by Friends or Family, refer them to this blog, so they can learn what all it takes to build a Business. Do not let them do their own research and get overwhelmed with the vast amounts of information there is on the internet, but let them have a quick view of the most important stages and actions in implementing a Business which you can find in many places on the internet, including my blog”.
And due to this lack of knowledge they begin to worry or doubt that you can build a sustainable income building your business (especially when it comes to the internet).
Are they willing to sit down and have you show and explain a bit more to them or do they simply reject the whole thought of your pursuing it and are persistent to get a 9 to 5 job?

My parents were like that when I spent hours and hours in my room while growing up, playing my guitar and writing songs. ...I ended up with a very successful music career. Perseverance.

My wife was like that after I retired from the music and started a Web design career. ...I ended up making a very comfortable income. Perseverance.

Whenever someone bugs me about getting a job instead of doing "that", I think of this...

Persevere!

If you are making some money from your efforts you can offer to help with the bills around the house. This will show your parents that you are able to hold your own with what you are doing.

I'm American but part Filipino. So I've been in the exact situation. I simply state, proudly, that when the profit comes in, you will all be singing a different tune. Imagine what my money can buy for myself. Now imagine what my money can do for you.

Then get up on the coffee table (or a soap box) and put your hands on your hips. This is when I start borrowing phrases from strange places like the internet. Just say stuff like. "Is a man not entitled to the sweat of his brow?"

Now they will either look at you like you've gone mad or laugh at you. So brush them off and keep pushing. Ouright ignore them.

You went to an American High School too. So you know they don't teach critical thinking in schools these days. They don't teach you how to be independent. They teach you how to obey.

Crank up the Linkin Park and tune them out! Tone it down though when they threaten to kick you out of the house. But keep pushing until you achieve a self-sustaining system.

Once you have your own money. You can just move out of the house if you want.

don't take this the wrong way, but just be a man and do what you want.

U gotta have that BOSS mentality. You get shit done, you do it your way, because it's your life and it's what you want to do.

If your parents can't agree with what you do then they can't agree. Nothing you can do about it. Some people can't change.

You gotta run your own life. All this adversity, your parents and your business failures will gonna help you grow into a bawwsssss.

Just keep stepping up and going for what you want in life. Full intent!

If you cannot convince your parents that you can continue to make a stable income from
your online business, then it is better to agree to look for a job to please them . While job-hunting, you can still work on your business and try to impress your parents with
more income proof. But if you fail to provide the proof to win them over to your side,
then you will have to get a job to get a stable income . You can still build your business
on a part-time basis.

who cares what your parents think lol. in general, you should get a part time job and work on IM when your free.

I am in the same situation as you. The best way to deal with it is to do what you love doing and the results will prove them wrong.

hey bro....damn I can so relate...and I think alot of other warriors can relate too.

The problem that you're experiencing is that your mind set is one of the 3% ers who are business owners and entrepreneurs...which is awesome. However, those that are in your sphere of influence..the nay-sayers....well they're in the 97% ers club.

Most average people think in terms of getting a job, and working 40 hours a week and getting a steady paycheck. It's how 97% of people live. They were taught to do that and think that way since day one....it's been programmed into their psyche. So whenever you do something that goes against that type of thought process...well they want to try and bring you back down to their level.

Don't let em do it. You're on the right path my friend and if you stay focused and move forward keeping that mid set intact...you will surpass any income goals that you have and those nay sayers will do a 180....and now they will be asking you for advice instead of giving it.
