I don't know how many of you have seen this before, but it's the first time for me, and I wanted to share it. It's accurate, concise, and makes it easy to see where I can make improvements in my life - both personally and in business.

i take some idea back home and apply it in personally and biz.

instead of kick people ass if I mad, I would rather spend more time to get idea or learn new thing in all aspect of life.

    That's a great list, Joel.

Obviously, I couldn't agree more with it. Success begins from within.

Those who continue to struggle, day in and day out, never try to change the common denominator... themselves!

Thanks for posting the list, Joel. I don't think I've seen it in that format before. Extremely inspirational for those who truly take it to heart. I have seen people on both sides of the list. . . . And I have to admit that I see myself at different spots on both sides of the list!

I will try to do better in the weak areas.

Excellent list Joel! Thanks for sharing it with other Warriors.

I definitely agree. Especially the following 3 successful statements:
    1. Talks about ideas.
When you talk about your ideas, you express knowledge and show others that you have a sense of what's going on. You're also more creative. Idea-generation is something that's learned in my opinion.
    2. Share information and data.
Sharing is one of the best ways to be successful. If you hide everything, you're letting others take the opportunity of beating you to the punch. Plus almost everything you can share has already been said or done before.
    3. Embrace change.
If you can't adapt to the markets, to the world, to life in general, you'll end up being eaten in a sea of confusion. So why not enjoy it.

Without these three character traits, it's very difficult to relate to others.

How very well composed! Thank you for sharing this!

I'm taking that chart, by the way. It's going to be an excellent resource to give to others who need to understand the different qualities between successful people and the unsuccessful. The thing I've found is that unsuccessful people usually don't "think" too much, but perhaps when I show some of my associates this direct comparison, they'll be able to draw conclusions on the cold hard fact that they fit more into the unsuccessful category, and that they could definitely use a good deal of self-improvement.

    Thanks again.

It would be great to see this chart get circulated to as many people as possible, Even if it helps them become successful in their lives rather than business. The more who learn from it, the better for all!

I like the list, but, as a natural contrarian I must throw a curveball into the mix.
2,3,and, 5 is not a prerequisite as I know of a couple of people who skew that rule

The contrast is sharp...but I'd have to disagree on several points:
    1. Successful people Must Criticize if a subject needs adequate criticism.
    2. They must watch TV (News Talk shows, travelogue etc.)
    3. Must Exude anger when needed (above all, bottling up emotions lead to several health consequences).

Hey man awesome post and so true. It seems so easy when you see the list like that juxtaposed showing successful vs unsuccessful traits of people. It also boils down to, successful people think in abundance and increase, they believe that there is so much wealth out there waiting to be had. Versus the unsuccessful people think in the scarcity mindset, thinking that there is only so much to go around. This thinking leads to negative thoughts and failure.

  • Joel -

Thanks for the post. I find myself to be on both sides of the list quite often. I am going to print out this list and use it as follows -

    1. If I am getting what I want and am feeling happy, I will check in to see how I am operating based on the list on the right side.

    2. If I am not getting what I want and am not feeling happy, I will see how I am operating from the left side and what I need to do to move to the right side.

Thanks for the eye opening share.

An aspiring list to bear in mind - Joel. Thanks for brightening up my day...

Things may not be as black and white as the list suggests at first glance though... but I accept successful people are not ruled or tyrannised by that second list.

..I love the wordage... it makes you think...

EXUDE ANGER... To 'not exude anger' can't mean you never get angry?

'To exude' is to vibrate 24/7 in a particular way - so perhaps 'To Exude Anger' is like living in a fire ball of anger all the time burning everyone who comes near. Now I can see that's never going to make anyone successful, no one would ever want to do business or have a relationship with them.

And I agree with Mousumi #33 that we do need to be critical and discriminate and not be a pussy - but at the same time I guess to criticize can also be an attitude of mind - always looking for the bad rather than simply being aware and responsive being critical and correcting mistaken behaviour when needed. The one sounds like being locked in a prison and the other is having the freedom to drop it once used for it's served it's purpose.

...am I flying by the seat of my pants again... I suppose it's time to get my 'to do list' done to make ammends

    Great thread. Thanks guys
