As Crazy As It Sounds, You Can Have A Conversation With Your Higher Self to Unleash Your Creative Ge

[If you're one of those TLDR guys. (Deadbeats. Lol!) Here's the video I did explaining the whole process: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UCgpo...ature=youtu.be]

Hey what’s up guys.

Here’s how you can have a conversation with your higher intelligence to be more explosively creative and solve virtually any problem.

I got this particular technique from Mark Levy’s book, The Accidental Genius.

I truly believe that we are all connected to a higher, all knowing, and all powerful being. Some call this source energy or infinite intelligence.

But before I get too deep into the whole spiritual mumbo jumbo, I’ll just start with the technique.

This technique is a modified version of free writing.

Here it goes:

Step 1: Get a kitchen timer and set it for 20 minutes.

Step 2: Get in front of your computer and open up your word processor. Or if you prefer, get a pen and pad ready.

Step 3: Prompt yourself with what you want to accomplish with this writing session. Simply do this by stating your goal at the top of the page.

For example, let’s say that you are having problems not making enough money. Write at the top of the page, “I can make more money if…”

Step 4: Start the timer and start writing.

Write non-stop until the timer buzzes. Don’t worry about things like grammar, punctuation, and spelling. Just keep writing.

Write everything that crosses your mind. Don’t filter anything out.

If you don’t know what to write, just write whatever is on your mind. You can even write, “I don’t know what to write.”

Heck, sometimes I end up writing, “I I I I I….” for a solid minute or two.

The trick here is just to have an easy going attitude about this process. If you do that, your mind will gently guide itself back to the topic at hand.

And because you aren’t filtering your thoughts, you will be directly tapping into a pure stream of consciousness.

After the timer beeps, take a look at what you’ve written. I guarantee that you will be amazed with the results.

Also if you’re a writer, this works like gangbusters for creating loads of content. Use this free writing technique to create your first draft, then simply edit and refine afterwards.

Have a spectacular day!

Jeff

Great advice. I am recently learning how to just allow myself to write freely in a notebook. But I have yet to try timing it and to stay focused in a single topic like that. Usually I end up writing all over the place about a variety of things. Somewhat focused on self improvement issues though. I love the suggestion to write on the topic "I can make more money if...". Thanks!

      No Problem.

Journaling is great! It's a good way to really flesh out your thoughts and see your progress with anything. However, it is very different from a free writing experience. Try it, you'll see.

During free writing you are totally in the moment. Because of the restrictions of the timer and the prompt, you can be nothing but totally present and experience the now. It's sort of an active meditation, if you will.

It may be counter intuitive, but creativity thrives best when there is actually less freedom. At least, that's my personal experience. But there have been studies to find this true as well.

Wish I could do it. I'm too sensitive for this kind of writing, unfortunately. I tried it so many times but I just blacked out by all the subjects coming into mind.

Then just write whatever comes up. If during this process you suddenly think about what you want to eat for dinner, then write down what you are thinking about eating.

Again, if you can't think of anything to write. Just write, "I can't think of anything to write." over and over until something else pops up.

Remember it is really important to not put too much strain on staying on topic. You will create more resistance this way. If your mind wanders, Simply let it wander. Welcome the wandering fully and whole heartedly.

The wandering might actually lead you to your answer or idea. Just trust your higher knowledge to take you by the hand and lead you there.

Here's an example of a few lines from one of my free writing sessions:

This sucks... my ideas are just not flowing today... 20 minutes is way to long. My wrist is hurting. Maybe I neeed an ergonomic keyboard... I'm kind of hungry... I think I had too much coffee... can't wait until the timer goes off so I can go to the restroom iiiiiii blah, blah, blah...

I actually go on like this for a good five minutes.

      What was my prompt?

"I will write an engaging post that will help people by..."

The result of this particular session is the post you're reading now.

It's actually pretty hard to go through the whole 20 minutes without coming up with any sort of insight. You almost, have to put effort into stopping ideas coming at you.

If you actually do end up with jibberish at the end of 20 minutes. Look at this as a good thing. You are clearing your mind of all the blockages that are occurring.

Try it again the next day. And remember have a playful attitude about it. Light and easy is the key.

I really appreciate the explanation, but for me it's a no-no. My mind is always active, picking up everything around me, creating all kinds of idea's I could use. If I use this method, it becomes to much for me. I once tried this and was cursed with a writers block for a week. Which was quite a refresher for my mind and I felt much less stress on my brain capacity, so it had some benefit.

I do recommend this to others through, as I know that it works. Through, if your senses are very sensitive like mine, I would avoid this one. Otherwise, I cannot state how much this can help for others just by typing.
