4 years ago I was living on the streets!

Wow.

It's been a journey for sure.

Only 4 years ago I was living on the streets and today I'm living in a 4 bedroom house, with a pool, hot tub, and in a very nice neighborhood.

I never would have thought I'd be in this position when I started working online. I thought things like this were fake and only dreams.

Don't ever let your thoughts take over. You can do anything you want to do, you have the potential to be anyone that you want to be. You can strive to do better, and you will do better if you push yourself. Just because things suck right now, it doesn't mean they will always suck.

It's just like how high school was. I hated it. I was bullied constantly, I felt like life would never get better. Guess what, it did. My 2 brothers passed away, I thought I'd never be happy again, guess what, I am (although I think about them everyday). I was broke and living on the streets, I figured my life was worthless, guess what it wasn't.

Where were you 4 years ago? And are you doing better, worse, the same?

Hi Justin, your post always inspired me. I believe your past is part of your motivation tool, especially your brothers.

Everyone is admiring your current situation, but all these result came from your hard work, and you deserved it.

4 years ago and now (should say before August 2012) is almost the same, but I will keep moving up and make it different/much much more better 4 years later or even 1 year later.

    Cheers

4 years ago, I graduated college and had big dreams of becoming a Hollywood filmmaker. I landed my first gig almost 4 years ago to this day and thought things would go up from there when it was over.

Sadly, the harsh reality of working for the film industry forced me to resort to finding other methods of income and 2 years ago, I discovered IM, but didn't make money with it until earlier this year. I was forced to settle for a corporate job to make ends meet. It wasn't the worst job in the world, but I knew deep inside, it wasn't where I wanted to be.

Now I make my full time living off IM and once my current expenses are paid off by the end of this year, I plan to start my own production company, get an actual studio, and make some cool stuff. I've already started a web show about my geeky passions (in sig) and that's only the beginning.

So yeah, I'm much better off now than I was 4 years ago.

Wow man this is my story almost to the tee, only thing different is I graduated college 11 years ago.
But I'm into filmmaking myself, and as soon as I have enough money, I plan to do the same

So very proud of the person you are Justin!

Ha... I think back and 4 years ago I was pregnant. VERY pregnant (only 2 months from delivery). Little did I know that my world was about to be turned upside down (in a wonderful way) by twins! Well, I knew I was having twins, but I don't think I understood the magnitude of that until they actually arrived.

I was also working full time still and even though I was making a great income, nothing compares to the happiness I feel today where I get to actually hug and kiss my babies (instead of feeling them kick me in the gut) as well as the liberation of working from home (much thanks to you). The possibilities are that much greater both in personal growth and financial growth, and I look forward to the day when I can say that I've surpassed my previous income.

Very inspiring and motivating. I am still at the same damn job where I was 4 years ago. It's not that they don't pay me well. But I really want to do something on my own. Do some internet marketing and see how it feels like to be your own boss. I started doing IM part-time now and I hope to learn and achieve great success in near future.

I don't think I've ever been in this section of the warrior forum before. If I have I can't remember. At any rate I think I'm going to hang out here a bit more often. I love hearing these stories of success. It is so inspiring to realize that good things can happen so quickly if you apply yourself.

Having the right mindset is probably the most important aspect of success in anything in life. You have to be mentally and subconsciously ready for success or it will continue to elude you. Congratulations on your success and may it long continue.

Small world. I was the same four years ago. Homeless from the day I turned 18 (April 3rd) to June 30th. Not a fun experience, especially as a stupid kid trying to graduate and close McDonalds 5 nights a week at the same time.

It's always satisfying to look back and see what you survived. People would be amazed at the crap they've already handled and realize that current problems really aren't that bad.

That's truly inspiring for everybody, Justin!

My desire is for more people to realize that most people who are achieving their dreams and making the income they desire have often come from a rougher life. They don't see the struggles and the trials, all too many people see is "Hey, that person has a bigger bank account than I do, so they must've gotten 'lucky' or been born with a silver spoon in their mouth."

I hope people will see what you've done and let it add to the fuel that drives them each onward toward their own individual goals.

Anybody and everybody can be successful. Everybody has it in them to monetize what they love. I make this statement with full conviction, and can disprove anybody who disagrees.

You deserve your success and I'm happy that you have something truly substantial to show for it. Keep going, keep driving, earn more, live more, and help others do the same like I know you will.

I am happy to share the same vision with you HolyWarrior.

Usually it takes suffering to help us see & realize it.

I lost my focus a bit about 4 years ago. Starting dabbling in other businesses i wasn't really interested in. Took my focus off the business I lover and am good at. So 2012 it was about re-building again getting the focus back. Much clearer plan now.

I was lucky to start when it was easier to rank in Google for hard keywords so I did well but I made a H-U-G-E mistake, I wasn't building my list, so when the hard G times came all I had build was gone, my sites penalized, no list and also no money to invest.

Again hard times... but I didn't quit!!

I just knew that it was possible to make good money online, so I started from scratch, with all the knowledge that failure brings, now I'm building a real google proof long term business that will be my legacy for my future generations.
I'm sorry to hear that both of you are/were going through a divorce. My dad is actually considered my "adoptive" father and I've never met my real father, but I still consider my adopted dad, dad. My parents however split up when I was 4 years old, and since my mom at the time had a drinking problem (she's an absolutely AMAZING and INSPIRING person now) I wasn't living anywhere close to the dream.

I hope that both of your lives turn out the way you want them too and I understand that without knowing your entire life, I can't tell why the situation is taking place, but no matter, good luck on your journey and never give up on your dreams!

I'll dive into your post tomorrow, but to give you some advice.

The biggest thing I see as a fault is consistency.

And almost every person I talk to believes they are consistent, they believe they are trying, when honestly they are just bulls***ing all day.

If you want to build a real business online, especially with little investment, you need to do what a real company would do in the real world. Do you think a real company sits around all day and somehow gain success from that? No, they go out and do real company stuff, they work.

BUT does that mean you have to slave away at this? Heck no.

You just need to truly try every single day, even if it's only for 5 minutes.

I suggest you checking out the 5 minute challenge over anything else because it's what has changed my entire perspective of how things work.

Set a time right now for 5 minutes.. see, I said now. Most people won't do it now, they'll say oh I'll do it later. They'll be unsuccessful because of that mindset (of course I'm exaggerating success). But at the end of the day if you don't just DO stuff, then you aren't going to get anywhere.

Right NOW take 5 minutes and record a video, or write a blog post, or just write a dang tweet, dedicated to your niche, it'll go a long way.

As many have said before me, very inspiring story and it just goes to show many of the skeptics (the foolish ones that quickly leave Warrior) that it is more than possible to make good of a bad situation.

As regards me, 4 years ago I had 30 sites top on Google and earned a reasonable living, now I have 300 and I am making a dash for the top. I personally don't find Google such a problem (because I am a geek who reads code and algorithms like others read their native language) I have teamed up with a great programmer whom I trust implicitly and I have so many ideas I need extra hands. Anyway that's me.

    Best regards

Thanks a lot. It's a totally different lifestlye for sure.

I have to cut the grass, tend to the flower bed, work on the garden, clean the pool, destroy the weeds, etc. on a regular basis right now haha. Coming from an apartment to this is definitely a big change but I'm loving it.

I've got a slight tear in my eye and I hate it. But gosh man, you're a Serious Champion! Life has completely failed to keep you down.

For those who give up and say 'life happened", well I guess we can throw that one out the window too. YOU happened to life.

    Continue succeeding man!

Never forget where you came from boss.

Don't let anyone let you forget.

It makes your success all the more meaningful, and will encourage you to become even greater.

Don't become successful for the money, become successful for what it will make of you.

Even though I wear a tshirt that says "Like a Boss" I will never allow myself to be what many expect a "boss" to be.

I want to be a leader, I want to help people solve their problems not by telling them what to do, but by doing it with them.

And I have no intention of ever doing it just for the money.

My goal has and always will be to strive to become a better person, to help those around me become better, and to succeed at the things that I love.

I love motorcycles, gaming, motivation, and teaching. So I will push to continue going in those directions

But one great thing is to also be open to new ideas. Good luck and thanks for the response

Congratulations for not giving up and not letting life's obstacles get in the way.

I've noticed throughout my life that every obstacle or fear of unknowning can lead to a new opportunity. It all depends on how you handle it and turn it into something positive.

Life is short, don't spend it stressing, worrying, or hiding away. Do the things that make you happy and help others around you, it's as simple as that.

Thank you for great words of encouragement! I was geared up to be a great and successful chef but certain factors out of my control stopped that dream. I lost my license and was "forced" to attempt a living from home. I have spent 9 months learning a completely different trade. I have just launched my first product today and I hope all of my work pays off. your words give empowerment! keep it up!

Wow! Awesome indeed, glad to see you were able to accomplish so much in 4 years, really encouraging indeed. The following is one of my favorite quotes that keeps me going when thoughts come in my head regarding what I still have not been able to accomplish.

"I am not as good as I ought to be. I am not as good as I want to be. I am not as good as I am going to be. But I am thankful that I am better than I used to be." John Wooden

I want to share for those of you who are really not comfortable with their lifestyle.

There is this amazing movie called "I'm Fine, Thanks" which was by Crank Tank Studios.

I just watched it the other night and have already seen it 3 times since then (well twice in the background while I work).

It's really inspiring and definitely made me think of where I was and where I am today and how thankful I am for everything.

But remember, even with all the goodies, life isn't going to be perfect unless you are comfortable and don't regret anything.

I'll be honest, sometimes I feel like I have been blessed with too much, but at the same time, I'm very thankful for everything that I've received from my hard work and I want to continue to push even further to help others out.

Lastly, it's REALLY important you focus on your dreams, rather than everyone else's dream.

      Everyone has their own story

My life is what I've dealt with, but I know there are others out there that have been through WAY worse.

I'm glad I have overcome those obstacles, but now my goal is to keep myself away from ever returning to those issues I once had and I hope anyone out there reading this will do their best to keep themselves from falling off their path as well.
