Is there a limit to the depth of your personal success gems?

What do you think about Derek Sivers?

He's got another one on failure but I won't post it here .

    Thanks again Justin!

Your Welcome Everyone! Man, TED Talks are always a profitable investment of time.

@Anthony - Thanks for the share! I don't agree with Derek or find the experimental results to be accurate in my view.

My perspective is - the more we feel the feeling we want that comes with the completion of our goal - the more we want it. It's like a sample dose of a drug that creates obsession with committing to the goal itself.

When I tell others of my goals - I feel like i'm being held accountable and I also love the enjoyment of getting a "preview" of the feeling I will soon experience after following through.

So - keeping goals to yourself is a lot LESS useful then telling everybody.

When the thing feels "real" in are minds - the actions that lead to the result make themselves less complicated and easier to apply in my experiences.

      Great explanation!

I just thought it was interesting, I always really enjoyed keeping my little goals to myself, so it's interesting to hear you talk about the other side of the coin. I'm getting more like that now but it's definitely different. The more I think about, it probably had something to do with me not wanting other people's expectations to get involved in fears that I may disappoint them, experience ridicule etc. It must have been all tied in to a previously flawed self-image.

Justin, thanks for posting. Admittedly I enjoyed the first three minutes and the rest of the time I began to think, "Uhhhh...no." But the last minute really caught my attention. So to those who have continued to show up and do your job--who continued to work whether they gained massive attention or not--thank you. The warrior forum wouldn't exist without you.
