"Success is doing what you want to do, when you want, where you want, with whom you want, as much as you want". What's your definition?

People define success differently, as for me, success is the ability to dream and actualize.

Enough to sustain my current living expenses + enough discretionary income would be very successful start - that's the point of going from being 9 to 5 to financially independent

Success is recognition, status quo, power, influence, regular loyal customers, admirers, and followers.

I created a lens about becoming successful in life two years ago. It’s a nice topic.

The decent principles by which you live, the clarity and consistency of your actions, the ethical and moral values you create for life, and the virtue you practice bring the possibility of being successful. To me success is just a realization felt from deep within :-)

    You summed it up perfectly.

Success is basically living life on your own terms.

Success is relative to desire. But desire, just like every other aspect of our psyches, is in a constant state of change, so success, again just like everything else, can only exist momentarily. Everyone wants something more, or "something else", regardless of what they have or what they've "achieved", it's human nature. The key to happiness is to learn to be content with the way things are.

Success to me is just not having to break my back for someone else for the rest of my life, determine how much I make, when I make it, to do whatever I want, with whoever I want, whenever I want and better yet - help my REAL family to do the same and benefit and impact other peoples lives who grew up on the streets like me and need direction

I think success is a bit independent of income.

I once was caught up with acquiring, beating competition, and so forth.
Not that there's anything wrong with that.

And what people want or need is their business.

But as I've gotten older, my needs as well as my definitions have changed.

For me, it's now more about self satisfaction and lifestyle.

As and example, today.. I went to the beach. When I came home, I saw that I earned money.

That's what I call success. And today was a successful day.

For me success means doing what I love to do, helping other people and making money at the same time. I truly believe this is the right order! The most successful people and businesses built their success on something what was useful and helpful for others. They became successful focusing on people's needs.

Money is not a reward, money is only an addition to make you succeed.

i like this thread it is real interesting but I have a question for all of those who posted in this thread. Is what you guys have stated really what success is or simply an achievement that you all have reached or will reach and perceive as success? Should success be one thing and one thing only? kinda like how a rock is a rock. Any person who knows what a stone is can identify it because it has one particular state of being. Is success the same way? Can it be identified and associated by one singular definition?

No sir, it can't have a singular definition, that's precisely what I was trying to say

Exactly. Nothing more, nothing less. The question is how much money do you need, how much time, how many babes (or dudes), and how much time. LOL

We were all made to conquer challenges, without challenges life would have no meaning. This may not feel the case for many of you struggling to get the IM lifestyle but it is absolutely true.

Success is the feeling of having accomplished something you thought you couldn't or thought to be hard. Whatever it may be, in terms of finance, health, family and relationships.

No one can define success but yourself, your definition of success may not be the same as someone else's, but that doesn't mean you aren't successful in your own right.

  • I really want to live a healthy life. I don't want to live my last years fighting against diseases. I will feel my self successful if I will live a healthy life. My first priority is HEALTH.

After health, I want prosperity. I am a very greedy person but I want to earn money because I want to do social work in my life.
