Hey Folks,

Been a while since I posted in this forum but I've been stopping by and reading some of your stories and updates. Thanks for the inspiration.

Nice video - you make some very good points about developing GOOD habits. I have heard that if you do something for 21 days in a row than it will be a new habit.

Haabits, go or bad, are hard to break..... so develop good habits and that will help you a lot.

    Great video Justin!

You build momentum in business when you accumulate a series of successes, one quickly after the preceding one. If you're in sales, momentum might consist in closing rapid-fire deals. When you're rolling with good momentum, you're busy, but you're accomplishing a lot.

It can take time to build up solid momentum, to establish a steady rhythm of success. BUT patience and confidence in your system will result in having a solid momentum.

    Cheers,

Thanks Anthony... eh? Me too. It is pretty easy to pick a small task, get to it and get it done as quickly as possible. It is not easy to say "I'm going to complete this entire project this afternoon" if you have never handled a massive amount of work in 1 sitting before. Baby steps

Very nice video! I'm actually a little jealous.

I can vouch for the power of momentum. I train at a pretty well known Mixed Martial Arts gym here in Las Vegas. It's been my morning routine now for about 4 years.

Getting beat up by UFC fighters to start my day, makes the rest of the day seem like a gentle cruise downhill. No matter what goes on.

Good info, and more power to ya!

        Haha!

Yeah, there's no way that's happening Anthony. I get slaughtered more than I actually win.

        I'm more of a hobbiest.

If you watch The Ultimate Fighter Fridays series (on Fox or FX, depending on where you're at) that started this past Friday, you'll see my coach - Cameron Diffley - competing.

Yes, you're right. Thanks for posting your vid here. Momentum.... You can start small and you'll gain momentum from there. I read somewhere that "28 days makes a habit," can't really remember where. If you lose momentum, don't lose heart. yes, it could be discouraging but what's important is that you rise up again and get back to the race. Many people would also be willing to help you.
Love your momentum JustinP. l wish I could speak like that - straight, clear and precise.. so I can make a video too. I stutter a lot so simply prefer to write.

      Hey Elamros

Yes I heard abotu the 26 days to a habit. Well the study I heard about was where Nasa took some volunteer astronauts and had them wear convex eye glasses. It made everything in their world appear upside down. After an average of 26 days, the astronauts began seeing the world "right side up" because their brains "rewired" the world so they could operate normally. Suggesting that it takes about 26 days for the actual structure of the brain to change to the new "habit".

I have no idea how valid this research is but it makes a great story for motivational speakers LOL. I have to admit I've used that story in some of my youth workshops but I have since stopped because I don't know how true the study is. If anyone knows if the study is real I'd love to hear from you.

Regarding speaking to the cam, thanks for your comments. I have literally shot hundreds (and maybe 1000s by now) of videos and it is always a work in progress. You should give it a try. Just make the videos for yourself and practice speaking. You might be suprised how quickly you can improve your skills.

      Thanks for your comment

        Interesting NASA study.

I now remember the "28 days makes a habit" is a workshop in Ramit Sethi's earn1K private list. Not really promoting him. But I do recommend because he teaches really good stuff.

About speaking to the cam, made recordings which I just keep in my pc. Will try more and practice more so I can publish some online or show to close friends. LOL!

    Hey Justin!

Great video! I am going to set my self the challenge of getting up at 5am tomorrow! I tried it today but I did not succeed! Tomorrow is a new day though and I know I am going to do it! Do you have any tips for when you first started getting up early or did it just come natural to you?

Great video! Thanks for sharing! It has definitely got me motivated to making a change for the better and continuing to improve my lifestyle!

Hey Joe thanks for your comments

Part of my motivation to get up early was watching videos from Eric Thomas. He gets up at 3am every day ... that's where I got the inspiration.

The way I started the habit was to link it in my mind to be something I HAD to do if I wanted to achieve my goals. I would dwell on getting a huge jump start on the world and gaining a competitive edge. I also make sure that the first few hours are spent doing my most enjoyable work... for me that is reading and studying mindset and motivation... so I'm literally excited to get out of bed anyways.

Once I did it for a few days I just didn't want to break the streak... momentum. Then I started telling people about it so now its kind of an identity for me and we humans are pretty driven to maintain our social identities. So I have that force driving me out of bed early even on the days I don;'t want to.

      Hope that helps
