Basic questions I'm having trouble finding answers to

I'm not sure if this is where I should be posting this, but for what I'm looking for it seemed like the best place.

I currently have 8 places that I have my adsense ads on. My wife and I each have a HubPages, I have 4 blogs that I write on, she has 1, plus I have a micro niche site that I haven't posted any articles on yet. With the exception of my micro niche site that I'm basically using as a test site, I'm not looking for a get rich quick scheme, I'm looking to build up my blogs and sites to make a living off of them.

My first question is, in the most generic sense possible, for a decent ranked site, what on average can I expect per day from adsense? I've seen $20 a day thrown around, but I'm not sure how accurate that is. With decent rank, decent traffic, and keywords that get between $.30 and $1.00 per click, is that about right, or a little more or less than what I could expect?

All of my sites are between a day and 5 weeks old, so at this point, how often should I be updating my blog? I've seen everything from everyday, to once a month. My daily visitors range from 5 a day to 80, so I don't have that good of traffic, and what I'm wondering is if adding more content would help more, or if I should just focus on ranking what I have already.

Being that I'm looking to make money from my blogging, instead of blogging to make money, what is the best approach to SEO? I've read that both on page and off is important, just on page, just off page, and that you can ignore it completely and just have great content. So far I've been focusing on on page, with a little off page mixed in, but not much.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It would be better off in the SEO section. Just go to the WarriorForum.com home page to find it.

Keep doing both. Google likes to see that your blog is constantly getting updated and in tern helps you rank well. I would recommend doing 10-30 articles - written yourself or outsourced - and schedule them to get released on your blog throughout the month. Then you can concentrate on 'off page' while your content is getting released automatically

I don't think a small website should do that much.

      1. Be consistent with the amount of content you put in, and equally spaced out as well.

      2. 3-5 pages of content a week is good enough for most people. More is probably overkill for most. And of course not more than one in a day if you limit to 5 a week.

Hi, my best advice for you in terms of blogging frequency, is to only blog when you've got great content for your readers. It's all good and well blogging daily but, if the content is not good and not well prepared, then you lose out. Not just to your readers but with the search engines too. So I would recommend only posting an article when it's completely ready.

    I hope this helps

One good tactic to help your situation would be to get a list of ping services, perhaps use PushPress the wordpress plugin (haven't used it myself in a long time would have to check up on it again) or just paste the list of ping sites into the wordpress publishing settings so that when you post new content many other sites are updated about it and syndicate your content and links around, and list your site in their rss feeds and whatnot.

    Hi.

Just a word of caucious - it may time a while with your strategy to see the 20 dollars per day BUT don't give up. Persistent you must be!

Here are some tips to guide you both for SEO and to attract visitors. Keeping in mind that google is in the business of making money BY referring people to the BEST content possible so people WILL continue to use their search engine. If they don't refer to relevant results, google will lose money.

    1) Do not write for the sake of writing. Frequency does not matter when your content is of high quality and actially adds value. Take your time and write detailed blog on the topic of your choice. Make sure to provide enough content, non repeatitive, per article so the user will find it useful. When users find it useful, you will eventually move up the search engine rankings.

    2) Make sure on site SEO is fully checked when posting content - keyword ratio, image tags, meta tags, etc, etc. Must check all of this before publishing. There are plugins in wordpress that will check these attributes for you before you publish.

    3) Offsite SEO - seems like you and your wife love to write. Write similar good content and post it on other websites such as web 2.0, article directory, guest posting, etc. If you love writing, I would keep up with this similar ratio to your onsite content to keep building fresh links.

I could go on forever but I would also encourage you to consider making your own products if you want to make a living off of the internet or consider moving off of adsense and promote affiliate products for your niche. That is where the real money is. One sale a day could easily give you more than what you are looking for.

Happy to review your site if required and provide further feedback.

    Good luck.

You can get Adsense revenue for your hubpages but the problem is that sharing is 60 - 40 on revenue earned i.e hubpages take 60% of your earnings while you take the rest. You really need to get many hubpages that rank well in Google for you to start earning a decent income.

With the blogs, traffic is key. You will need to optimize them regularly by building quality links. Regular content update is also crucial as it is very favorable by the SE's.
