Rich, Poor, Happy, Sad

Imagine...

· A wealthy person
· A poor person
· A middle class person

Can you imagine the rich person being happy about something?
Sure, lots of things could make someone happy.

Can you also imagine the rich person being sad about something?
Sure, lots of things could make someone sad.

Can you imagine the poor person being sad about something?
Sure, lots of things could make someone sad.
Can you also imagine the poor person being happy about something? Sure, lots of things could make someone happy.

And what about the rest of us in the middle class; happy, sad?
Sure, lots of things could make anyone happy or sad.

Doesn't this prove that money
will not make you happy or sad?
If money had the power to make us feel happy or sad, we would all be happy (because we all have money), and we would all be sad (because we all have money). It just doesn't add up.

Money is not the key to happiness. But as we are about to discover, there are more important things than just being 'happy' in life. As Timothy Ferriss says "you can buy happiness in a bottle of wine"...

So, what is money good for?

Regular income has the power to bring relief. Having an income makes you feel that you can pay your bills but you have to keep working at it to keep it coming in (passive income being the exception), but there is only one thing that will bring you true financial security...CASH IN THE BANK!

Income is great but you have to keep doing something to bring it in. Having cash in the bank (enough to live at 2X for the rest of your life) is where true financial security will come from.
Income brings relief.
Savings brings security

So, at what point would we feel that relief? How much money do we need? Relief will arrive when you have enough money so the lack of money doesn't cause you worry. What this means is, that as long as you have no money problems you will feel relief.

The true measure of wealth is not how much money you have but how far you are from financial stress.

Yep, and there's a good reason for it. I call it "The Flop". The flop is what you do with your life when you're no longer chasing money. It's what you do to provide value to the world. We get a small taste of the flop after work on weekdays and during weekends. People who no longer have to work for money (if they have the right attitude) will spend time helping others and adding value.

^^Do you think if that was a person's focus from the outset they could attract financial abundance automatically?

money has no control of our happiness or sadness.

its not the key of happiness but a balanced and managed use of money can stay us cool from financial stress.

Agreed ! Money is important to live a happy life but at other end its equal to stress/problems/jealous and make a Long distance with blood relations.

A Big house without near and dear ones = waste
Bank balance = security but if you Dont have dear ones with you..then to whom you secure?
That is why, we say money can bring Bed but not a healthy and tension free sleep.
