I Finally Found the True Key to Massive Success.

It can be summed up in one sentence-

"MASTER YOUR EMOTIONS"

Yes that's the true key to success in every area of life...May it be money making, relationships or achieving your dreams. Humans are driven by emotions and we do everything according to the way we feel.

Therefore if you can train yourself to do the right thing and feel good doing it...Life becomes a lot easier.

Some people are lazy, poor, procrastinators, have addictions etc etc but why is that? Well simply because they haven't mastered their emotions and are more or less being driven by their emotions instead of driving it.

Imagine how your life would be if-

- You fail and not feel bad about it?
- You face massive criticism and still laugh about it?
- You stop caring about what others think of you?
- You are surrounded by negative people but you don't get affected?

In fact people smoke, drink, take meds or even do drugs to deal with negative emotions but they don't realize that it's only a temporary solution.

All one needs to do is master his/her emotions and life will become real easy. Now you might be thinking well if it was that easy why isn't every other guy/girl running around with pure joy 24/7?

Well this is the thing. It's not an overnight thing...It should be something one should study in the long term. I have been working on this since the last 2 yrs and all I know now is that I have only grown not only in terms of money but almost every area of my life.

It truly sums up to this...And if you feel this isn't the real key to success then I must tell you that it's not you talking rather negative emotions talking through you. I would love some feedback on this. Thanks a lot.

My wife and I often talk about how emotions are actually evil.

Every dysfuncional person on this planet is a victim of their emotions.

They are victims because they choose to be and at the same time our society programs us that way. We mainly follow the mainstream which tells us that life is just black and white.

Put it this way...What if emotional mastery was a subject in schools and kids were given regular classes on it? That by itself eliminate majority of the issues our society faces right now.

Almost every successful person has trained himself/herself emotional mastery and they use it to their best advantage.

I totally agree too. Mind controls almost everything that's why it's how you think things -- the way you think a movie is bad is also how you taught your mind to think like that.

While I agree with you and your wife to some degree, I don't think emotions are necessarily evil, they just blind out judgment.

      Nope. Emotions fuel us.

You need to set boundaries to channel and contain them.

You are so right. Honestly it wasn't until I learned to get past all of my fears and other emotional garbage that I found success. Fear and other negative emotions are extremely powerful. The worst part is that a lot of people don't even know they're afraid, or what they're afraid of. Until you figure that out, it's really tough to get anywhere.

Money does not buy happiness. You have to be happy with yourself and where you are at and where you want to go. If you are waiting for money to make you happy it won't.
If your emotions are always focused on when I get some money I can do this or that, you will continue to wait. Or worse off, if you do stumble upon some money in worry, you will only worry about how long the money will last.

To be truly successful, you have to realize that money is just money. Money doesn't rule your life, you rule your life. If you want to be happy and you want money, you have to learn to be happy first.

I really don't want to be too off key here. I just want to say that, If you want to be successful, you have to learn to control your emotional well being. I am not saying that you will be happy 24/7, but rather, control your negative thoughts and emotions.

If you are off to a bad start in your day, take a step back and focus on what makes you happy. Think about what you are grateful for in life, think about what kind of future you want to have, or where you want to go.

Emotions do not have to control your life, let them be a guide and a reminder of what is going on in the present, and what you want to happen in the future.

Long term happiness can not be bought with money. Your 540i will get old pretty soon and then you will want something else.

    Brilliant subject and very important.

First of all I'll keep it short as this could get horribly deep.

I don't think emotions are evil at all, in fact I think they're an absolute blessing (it depends on your perspective). If you have felt sad, ill treated or hurt it enables you to understand how others feel (imagine if you did not understand). Also, some fear is absolutely needed, our body through fear alerts us that we might be entering into a dangerous situation (fright - flight response), it also can act as a energizer etc etc.
Through our emotions we interact in our relationships richly...humor, laughter, smiles, jokes, tricks, cuddles, crying, caring, joy, lamenting and even protecting and caring for absolute strangers...this is mainly done with emotion...not logic (axiomatic reasoning).
Try and be an entrepreneur without emotion...try negotiating, networking, selling etc etc.
(it's about managing your emotions not losing them)

At the same time there are bad emotions like... rage, extreme envy, greed etc. and should be identified and starved at the root THOUGHTS.

However, I do believe that a lack of understanding regarding emotions can promote irrational behavior and knee jerk thinking. For example, if you didn't understand the root to why you always lost your temper quickly and became violent at the slightest feeling of being disrespected...you may believe you were just born a 'Nutter' and believe it so much that you build upon that behavior...but a little digging may suggest that it is fear-based and that it developed from an incident in your childhood were you were bullied...and subconciously you vowed to never let that happen again. - 'Not a Nutter'...just emotionally unbalanced.

Understanding brings knowledge...Wisdom is the application of that knowledge.

In other words understanding yourself and the world around you arms you with great knowledge but it is then Wisdom ((choices) - thought and behavior applied to the right situations that is key))

Our Emotions are an excellent indicator of what we are focused on in thought whether it be the front or back of our minds...if you want to change your emotion > change your thoughts

Primarily your thoughts influence you emotions, your emotions influences your behavior, your behavior influences your habits, your habits create your lifestyle.

That's why the KEY is 'THOUGHT'...to manage your emotions, you have to manage and vet your thinking...

Trying to manage emotion without dealing with your thinking will lead to long term frustration...

I agree with OP. I disagree with the notion that all emotions are evil.

IMO, there are emotions that drive you towards your dreams (i.e. enthusiasm, hope,...) and emotions that keep you from driving towards them (i.e. fear, overwhelm,...). The key to mastery starts with better awareness.

Great post Ryanman. My father taught me a long time ago that it was "attitude not aptitude that determines altitude"... corny but on the money. He also used to tell me that I was "the author of my own misfortunes".

We always have a choice in how we respond to anything and we will always be the sum total of our choices to any given point in time.

I have come to adopt the position that what other people think of me is none of my business...lol

    Much success to everyone.

    emotions are a wonderful thing!

external stimuli such as good and bad situations and circumstances as well as bodily chemical imbalance all go together to produce an array of interesting emotional responses...daily, hourly and even minute by minute...

Your emotion, your indicator of vibration, is indicating the ratio between your currently focused desire and any other belief or thought that you hold about same. When you feel negative emotion, anger about something, or fear... the name of the emotion does not matter, it always means that there is a desire within you that, in this moment, you are contradicting with some other thought. Your emotions are always about your relationship with your own desire, and nothing else.

'Humans are driven by emotions and we do everything according to the way we feel. "

I got to agree with this. If you have observed how we speak, you will find that we use a lot of words that links to feeling.

    Exp: I feel tired.

If we can master our emotions to do the right thing and do it consistently, success is just around the corner.

I agree that mastering your emotions really helps with success. Mastering them does not mean totally blocking them - just keeping them in check. You can sometimes use your emotions to help motivate and inspire you - a pinch of passion in your work can be a good thing!

Emotion=passion + action = change = an adjustment or alteration to life experience so...
without emotion, can there be change? Can there be progress?

Greetings and thank your for the food for thought in your post. I AM fascinated with concepts and conceptualizing these concepts. I looked up emotions and the above was the result. It has always seemed to me that there is really no such thing as good and evil...but more, perception of situations. If your team wins it is a good thing in your eyes. If it does win the opposing team sees it as a bad thing. Good and bad...good and evil...all pretty fuzzy concepts. Murder is wrong yet if a man murders and is pronounced guilty he is put to death by the death penalty and killing him is then a good thing? Fuzzy concept. I wonder about these things.

As per Napoleon Hill in his book "think and Grow Rich" - Before success comes in any man's life, he is sure to meet with much temporary defeat, and, perhaps, some failure. When defeat overtakes a man, the easiest and most logical thing to do is to QUIT. That is exactly what the majority of men do.

More than five hundred of the most successful men this country has ever known, told the author their greatest success came just one step beyond the point at which defeat had overtaken them. Failure is a trickster with a keen sense of irony and cunning. It takes great delight in tripping one when success is almost within reach.
