5 minutes is bull****?

Come on people. Consistency is the most vital thing in creating a business, if you aren't staying consistent, you'll fall off the cliff and get hurt.

I see a new motivated person come in every single day, but consistency is the only way that person is going to stay motivated. You have to put in a little bit of effort at the very least, otherwise you'll just get lost in the tangle.

Want to reach your goals? Put 5 minutes each day towards your main goal. That's like 35 minutes in a week.. come on, you have that much time, turn off the TV, put down your smart phone, limit your lunch break, do something. You have the time, you just aren't using it. You're goofing off and not getting anywhere because of it.

So.

5 minutes is bull**** right? Nope. This post was written in less than 5 minutes and now I want you to take 5 minutes out of your day and respond to this post. Tell me what you're going to do in order to take action, what will you do each day to reach your goal?

Just spend a measly 5 minutes, even if that means 4 minutes of thinking and 1 minute of responding. You have the time.. heck, you just read this right? How long did that take you?

Prove to yourself that you can take action.

Here's a thought.

You are given 1 year to make $1,000 or you will lose your house? Be honest with yourself, in knowing that are you going to be productive? Are you going to try hard to make that $1,000? Or are you just going to sit around and not think about it until it comes close.

And in another scenario, you are given 1 week to make $1,000, same situation, less time. You're going to be more motivated to push to make that $1,000 sooner, right?

Okay one last one, I know a lot of people who take college courses, I myself didn't go to college, but they get homework and I can relate to that from high school. When they are given homework assignments, almost every one of them wait till the last minute. But either way, they get it done.

Wouldn't you rather get things done now? Enjoy living stress free now, versus waiting until you can't enjoy life as much? Take 5 minutes right now and do what you can to reach your goals. Even if it's just 5 minutes, it's still progression.

I think people can be motivated and may even stick to something new for a week or so but then something happens in their life and they feel stressed out or angry and they quit doing the positive change they had been doing.

You're right, you must be consistent or you'll fall off a cliff, but in reality many find it very difficult to stick at something.

The reason because at the time of crisis, it's more easier and perhaps more painless to go back to their previous habit/life style to mask their pain, but of course in the long run it's keeps them in a rut.

Nice way to provoke someone to respond.
But you didn't write what you are going to do Just saying, people
    like example.

When you do things on a consistent basis it becomes a part of your
daily routine, a habit and it becomes as easy as brushing your teeth.

If I had five minutes a day to add to my business and be consistent I would create a video and upload it to Youtube. Of course I would link it back to my website because the traffic I get from there converts great!

After a year I would have a massive Youtube channel and have 365 videos all bringing the traffic in for years to come..

In my other spare time I would write articles and embed this video with the content on different sites..

Having content ready to go is like having stock in your shop to sell.. cool.

      Okay now here's my question.

You state "If I had five minutes a day" and "would".

      Why?

You're saying you don't have 5 minutes? I bet you do. And when are you going to start? Are you going to start tomorrow? Why not stat right now? Take 5 minutes after reading this response and do it, don't just talk about it.

Note: You might already be doing this or have thought of this, but the idea here is that so many people talk about things but never really DO. If you don't take action you aren't going to get anywhere and 1 year down the road you'll wish you had 365 videos to look back onto.

Man, you are totally right. Right now I'm investing in a high-quality sales letter writer, graphic design artist, and more for my new upcoming service.

I've tested this online promotion/SEO platform out for months now, and invested hundreds of dollars into it, so really hoping that it takes off.

Tons of hard work = large reward, right?

        I hope so haha.

Hey if the hard work is going towards a good idea, then all for it! But just remember at the same time you can invest 5 minutes a day into outside projects as well, doesn't have to be a lot, maybe even limit yourself to a max of 5 minutes a day on those projects, it'll also keep your ideas flowing.

But dude, if you're putting your effort towards something that you believe will help people and it really does, then keep it up

    Consistency is very important.
You should not work 10 hours today, and then do nothing tomorrow and next, next, next day.
And next Friday, you work 23.5 hours.
You maybe can do it in other industry, but not IM.

Consistency is definitely important, but your health is more important.

In this industry, you can literally get by with less than 1 hour of work each day, heck I know certain niche's where I get by with less than 5 minutes a day and make good money.

If you put 23 hours into working in a day, I get it, but honestly you probably weren't working that entire 23 hours. And if you don't take consistent breaks you could have a heart attack. So your health is way important.

Consistency doesn't just help you to be successful in IM, it can help you become successful in anything really.

You want to lose weight? Work out 5 minutes a day. You want to relieve stress? Relax every once in a while. You want to become the worlds best motorcycle stunt rider? Get on the bike first. It doesn't mean you have to ride 24/7, it just means you need to stay consistent and always progressing, even if that means 5 minutes a day.

I agree that 5 minutes can be a big difference. I help people place ads in Gumtree and Ebay and earn money from it. It takes me less than 5 mins and I have money in my pocket for doing so.

Justin, how I love your posts. I am going back and read them all for a boost.

The 5 minutes is great when you are wanting to try out something new. I am going to practice my guitar for 5 minutes. I am going to try these Chinese phrases for 5 minutes. I am going to dance to some fun music for 5 minutes.

I think some of those throw in during the day when you are working hard on your business can be like a little treat/reward.

The 5 minutes really help me get going when I am sagging down from a bought of depression.

I would love to work consistently 8-10 hours per day but I do what I can for now and keep trying.

This applies for people with health issues who would like to accomplish some things. Those 5 minute boosts of accomplishment can mean a lot.

Ha that's awesome I really hope you get some inspiration from the posts I share on the forum as I really do want to only share good ideas and content.

It's crazy because what you just expressed is only 15 minutes of your time each day, imagine if you took that 15 minutes and dedicated it to those 3 things every single day, eventually you'd become an expert at guitar, you'd understand basic chinese, and you would be more relaxed because of dancing

If you ever fall into depression, let me know I'll do what I can to get you out of it because we all can achieve anything we want to in our lives. I myself have had depressive moments even when working online, but that's just a human quality that makes us real. We're sad, we want more, we need things, we desire, we are scared, all types of things cause depression.

Good luck and never give up!

Those are some great 5 minute challenges and at the end of the day, that's still less than 45 minutes, and yet you got a lot done.

Just remember, thinking can be a great thing, but taking actual action is what gets you places. So you might say 5 minutes brainstorming, but you should want to dedicate 5 minutes to actually doing as well.

You have what you value most in your life, everyone single one of us has the thing we value most in our life right now at this instant.

The only reason why people aren't making money online is because they don't really value money as much as you think you do. You may value your family, your friends, your social life, heck you may even value the time you spend brain-dead just sitting infront of the television MORE than money right now.

Find out how you can change having money from something that is a "good to have" to something you "must have".

I've always had a problem with procrastination, and your post really stuck in my head so I'm actually going to write a response without switching tabs, getting up, or changing Pandora.
    1. I really want to spend 5 minutes when I wake up just sitting down and putting my priorities in order to help me gain an idea of just what I wish to accomplish for that day.
    2. I want to spend another 5 minutes on each social site I visit for leads, checking for new notifications and posts.
    3. I want to spend 5 minutes gathering a list of cold calls for our services.

I'm interested to see if spending each of those five minutes only focusing on one task will improve me in any way. Great post.

Tip. Don't want, just do. I know you can do it, and you know it too.

I'd like to add that I almost failed, and I didn't realize how actually HARD it was not to switch tabs! I felt like I wasted less time and accomplished something though, so you know, your post really is legit.

          Keep it up

Putting real focus on something for such a short period of time can get you really far, especially in your scenario where you have multiple tabs open.

At times I even have 50 - 60 tabs open at once in multiple windows. It gets pretty hectic, but I just tell myself to stay focused in 1 tab for a minimum of 5 minutes to get as much as I can done with the project I'm working on.

          Works every time
