Anxiety is your enemy!

Do not allow anxiety to affect the decisions you make, the way you work, or the mood you're in. If you feel anxious about something, go write it down or talk to somebody, do some meditation and clear your mind of distractions. The only thing you have to fear, is fear itself.

I agree, fear comes from going beyond what we are comfortable with, going into the unknown..

But when you go into the unknown, you start to learn and grow..
The unknown is where progress is made..

One way to negate fear is to "chunk down" a task into smaller manageable, daily parts/tasks..

Then write those parts down on a list and cross them off as you complete them..

This way you see your progress and you begin to feel empowered in the face of fear..

If you do this long enough you will re-condition yourself, so that you turn your fear around from something that used to immobilize you, into a trigger to getting things done..

And if that doesn't work consider this,
Fear is just an acronym for:

    False
    Evidence
    Appearing
    Real..

A useful tool to use when feeling anxiety is to say "not useful" to that fear. the fear/anxiety is in your head, and this little technique puts you in control so to speak

Anxiety is the easiest way to chase away the sale too. When you come across as anxious, nervous or even desperate it will chase away the deal

It is also wise to consider that the reality is never as bad as what fear made you imagine.Remember when you were in trouble at school and had to wait outside the head teachers office , once you went it it was never as bad as you were expecting. But anxiety and fear will exhaust you and divert your energies and concentrations from the very thing that will make you successful, thereby creating your own vicious circle

Take control of your destiny , dont let anxiety take control of you

Thanks everyone for your replies. I think a lot of people will benefit from reading the suggestions and tips here. I know a lot of the things suggested here have helped me long ago in the past when I used to struggle with anxiety after a nasty car accident, and have provided some of these suggestions to people I've done peer counselling for. I'm sure reading them will help ensure I continue my life and work anxiety free as well.

Another tip I learned in the past, is to keep cold water on hand. Drinking cold water can help with that, and if you find yourself in an anxiety attack, or fending one off, simply place some really cold water on the back of your neck, something to do with the nerve endings there and the temperature shock creates a natural physiological response that helps.

    Good luck everyone!
