You hold the power to do anything you want to do with your life. Many think that it's all about luck, but realistically, the only reason certain people are where they are, is because they put forth the effort to be there.

Never let anyone tell you that you can't do something.

I personally believe in every person I meet. Even though some seem like they are completely lost, I know that I myself was once in that position.

Your life is your life.

Your choices are your choices.

And you.

I believe "You." can do anything.

Great way to start the day Justin. Thanks for sharing this. You are 150% correct. Many fails because they don't believe in themselves. They end up living other people's dream.

Here is a great quote to go with this:

"The only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven't found it yet, keep looking. Don't settle. As with all matters of the heart, you'll know when you find it." - Steve Jobs.

    Don't settle.

Justin - I am new to this forum but not to IM. I hope we can get to know each other as well.

Great little motivational piece there Justin!

You always seem to post something when I am feeling down to help me get back into the mindset I need to be in!

    Thank you!

I chose entrepreneurship over further education despite being laughed at by my friends and family..

I recently hit the "RESTART" button on my life, read my personal blog to find out how I did it :)

      A great quote for sure.

I almost settled at a trucking company because of the money, if they had never laid me off, who knows.. I may have still been there today.

Joe, you have the potential to go anywhere and you know it. I may not be the most intelligent person in the world, but I know from experience that we all have that spark in ourselves. Life can change in a matter of seconds, be that change.

I haven't read it and don't plan on reading it yet. Not because I think it's a bad book, but because I like to save motivational things for when I myself am feeling down. Right now I'm in a good place in my life and live off of my own motivation by watching others succeed from what I have to share.

    Justin, thanks.

It's so easy to forget that life is getting shorter one day at a time.
    Minute by minute.
    Hour by hour.
    It's just steadily evaporating.

So we need to live out our passions.
Many of us need to FIND a passion (hint, it's not to be found on TV)

Then, we need to infuse each and every moment with that passion and bring each moment to life.

And, of course, we need to share our enthusiasm and passion with others.

      I agree.

The passion inside of you is EXTREMELY important.

Our time is only but so long, so the more time we spend going after our passions/interests, the happier we'll be.

I mean seriously, will you be happy doing something you hate over something you love? Likely not.

Make your life as amazing as it can be, take opportunities, risks, chances, but don't abuse them. Use them as if tomorrow is your last day, but today is just the beginning.

    Good advice there Justin

The key is ensuring that not just you believe that they can do it...its that they believe they can do it and that they truly want to do it.

When you go through that and come out the other end you 'know' you can do it, and you know others can do it too if they have your motivation and reasons to do it.

    Many don't. Unfortunately...

But....like you, I always think on some level you can reach someone - no matter how small or seemingly insignificant.

      It's funny.

One of my most successful students is actually someone who just took a few things I said and put them into action.

I'm not saying that someone isn't going to be successful from following guidelines, but you have to be your own person and do your own thing at the same time. You have to use your own ideas sometimes too.

Do you think the companies that rule our world today followed a path that other companies took without any innovation? Nah, they went out and took their ideas and went with them. Maybe mixing a few things up along with way (https://vimeo.com/14912890)

the companies ahead in the world today microsoft ,google the oil companies .. didn't set out to rule the world they started in .. they created the world with them at the head ..

and the companies that once ruled but no longer exist .. had a world created over the one they ruled that they tried to stop from being created

I'd like to go against that.

      Not to be pessimistic.

But a failure is a failure. You should AIM for success and nothing less. If you start aiming for failures, you'll just keep hitting them one after another.

To be successful, you have to have success. The whole idea that the world is so comfortable with failure is confusing. We shouldn't look at our failures and hold them in the light, we should look at the success's that we achieve. Yes, you can acquire success from a failure, but that's not aiming for failure.

      Be successful, not "failureful".

You hold the key to everything you've ever wanted, but you are going to be able to get there if you keep looking for failures.

I'd like to jump in too and take that just a little further What I feel is totally in harmony with your thoughts Justin, and I think maybe this is what Affiguy was getting at, that it is how you VIEW failure that is key. If you're aiming for success and nothing less, then when failures crop up you shouldn't view them negatively, simply as failures. Rather, you should view them as lessons. You can always find something positive from a negative experience and there is always something to learn, no matter how obscure it may seem. We are the creators of our world and it is how we view, feel and believe that determines the direction we will take.

So no, of course we shouldn't be content with failure, but we can certainly learn from it and take something positive from it

          And I definitely agree Glenn

Learning from your experiences is great.

There just seems to be this whole "failure is great" attitude in the world which I think is the wrong mindset.

I failed at some many things in life and it sucked..

Do you think someone who has one chance to jump out of the way of a moving car is going to be happy about his failure? Hopefully not and if that person is, it's likely because they have some type of brain injury.

I'm not saying all failures are like being hit by a car, but it's much nicer getting out of the way and living another day

For sure, that's definitely the wrong mindset. I'm not sure I'd say that there's a "failure is great" attitude pervading the world though. I think it's more of a "be content with failure" type thing, which is equally as bad. There is so much social conditioning that tells us who/what/where/how/when, etc to be and oftentimes we forget to take a step back and say "Hold on a moment, I can make the choices that are best for me!" Now that's not to say we should be selfish to the detriment of others, but we certainly have so much power available to us in our own minds, we just need to be aware and open to the concept of it actually being okay to tap into it!

It's great that you have been able to progress and do such much in a positive way, Justin, after your bad experiences. I certainly can relate to some of them, especially having suffered from depression myself too. But you did exactly the right thing and you're awesome

It was pretty hard for me.

Primarily because I have lived with depression and what I consider extreme ADHD since I was a kid.

I constantly have to be doing something, even if that means chewing on a toothpick, eating food, or drinking water. And when I'm not, I get to a point where I get pretty down about things. I don't know why though. And honestly.. I like who I am lol.

But it wasn't always that way. I used to hate myself, I was so down about everything, hated everyone around me, thought the world was full of cruel people and nothing more, and felt like I was worthless.

When my first brother passed away with cancer, I was starting to come out of my shell, but still wasn't there. And once my second brother passed, I just said screw it.. why live in depression? Why not enjoy life for what it is. Even though I don't like the way society is run, that doesn't mean I have to be down all the time. Why not try to make a change in society as a whole.

Even though I'm only one person, I believe I can change lives, I can change the ways of those that are lost and I know that just having someone believe in you, is a HUGE thing.

      Here's my list of believers.
      • Girlfriend - Jocelyn
      • Best Friend - Will
      • Teacher - Mr. Mahl
      • Michael Brown - The first guy I trusted online
      • My Mom

Now these are just the people that were there from the beginning and believed in me. They helped me open my eyes to the possibilities. I'm excluding other people that later came into my life, but this is where it all began.

If you can surround yourself with people that believe in you, "You." can do anything

          It definitely is.

But you wouldn't imagine how many people in the beginning didn't believe in what I had to say. They thought I was a lunatic.

To be honest, I'm not friends with many of them now.

Everyone told me I had to quit and get a job, do something that made real money, and stop living a false reality, when in fact, they were the ones living a false reality thinking that they were right about everything.

You gotta believe in people, it's important.

Don't bash someone for what they want to do in life.

Heck, you could want to clean garbage off the streets for all I care, if you're happy doing it, then go for it. And I'll support you until the end of the world for it!

        Ha.

Glad you caught onto that, I felt that everyone should see this post that watch my regular postings on the forum. So I tossed it in my signature in order to see if they'd find any value in it. Hopefully it's also helping people out there that don't believe so much in themselves.

As per the success/self improvement niche, I wouldn't say I directly go into that field, but I do have videos and other things on the web where I just share my thoughts on how people can succeed. If you'd like I'll talk to you more privately about it because I don't like promoting anything directly on the forum, that's not what I feel the forum should be used for.

Also thanks a lot for saying that you enjoy what I have to share.

It definitely feels good to know that I'm giving people something to read that isn't junk and I never want it to be that way.

My posts are all legit and when I say I really do believe in anyone, I mean it.
