Success Secrets, Dan Kennedy

Just finished reading The Ultimate Success Secret by Dan Kennedy. From every book I read I always try and extract the few core ideas that the author wants to impart, as every book only has a handful of them and here are 3 that were most useful to me, nothing revolutionary, or new, but I need reminding, and when understood and applied impacts everything;

There are self imposed limits you force on yourself within actual real limits. The real limits are things like, you're not going to be doing business on Mars and other outlandish things that just isn't going to happen. Once you truly realize this, you'll understand that you can really be all you want to be within the real limits. You are who you limit yourself to be. Pretend to stand across yourself as a complete stranger, just looking at "You". "You" can be whoever you want to be to that stranger. I'm not saying fake it, but it's been proven over and over again that self imposed limits aren't binding.

Success entails massive action. Not just action. Massive action creates momentum, action and opportunity. Most people don't take massive action and that's why most people don't enjoy massive results.

There's a last time for everything. Everything. There will be a last time that you'll speak with your closest friend, a last time that you'll be able to take another step, to tell someone how much you love them, to blink. So embody that understanding and do the best you can with everything, whether it be spending time with friends, make it the best, or writing an ad, creating a product, writing an article etc, remembering there will no doubt, come a last time.

That last point was the most important to me.

    I totally agree with the comment about self-imposed limits.

    I'm a big fan of Tony Robbins and his philosophies, as he tends to combine a lot of principles from various life coaching professionals.

    The reason I bring up Robbins is because I was listening to some of his stuff the other day and he mentioned how people tend to limit their ability to succeed by creating unreasonable limits -- specifically killing progress by demanding perfection before taking action: IE., paralysis by analysis.

      I'd also add that massive action creates adventure. It's one of the reasons why so many people are drawn to the many iconic "Action Jackson" figures that grace the movies and series on our screens. Most people lead mediocre lives, but have an innate longing for a life of constant action, and so are drawn to these figures who represent their deep desired avatar. Of course, most people will only ever "watch" unfortunately...
