When was the last time you stepped out of your comfort zone?

When you stop challenging yourself, you stop growing as a person.

Whether you're talking about fitness, public speaking, writing, automobile repair, whatever- if you keep doing what you've always done, you'll never acquire new skills AND knowledge will come slower.

When was the last time you got out of your comfort zone?

For me, it was last night. I held my second webinar, and it... went okay, but couldve gone much, much better.

But ya know what? I wrote down 10 lessons immediately afterwards that I'd learned, so next time I don't make the same mistakes.

So again- when was the last time you stepped out of your comfort zone? Are you glad that you did?

I stepped out of my comfort zone on last Thu. I was desperate, surviving financially on a "small as heck 3X3 inch little plastic white survival kit for wilderness, so to speak. The survival kit is figurative speech.

There was only a small wire "saw" and all condition strike matches in it, virtually, financially, so to speak. I was desperate as these matches, I only had "one" left.

A friend of mine told me about buying at Fiverr VERY low and selling high. I also learned further from Marketplace Bully that a WSO was. These were BIG lifesavers. In the wilderness, a real treat to "find a big town and a job" I think.

I stepped out of my comfort zone by shutting my big mouth for once and listening intently on someone and what they had to say.

    Hey Justin great post.
The last time I had to come out of my comfort zone was many years ago..

I had started this job with the impression I was going to clean carpets. Next thing you know the owner had us outside selling vacuums door to door.. talk about being really nervous and uncomfortable ..

But after I knocked a few doors and talk to some people I became comfortable which in return made me lots of vacuum sales.. But that was a long time ago.

I am glad I had to do that, because now I can sell pretty much anything face to face. But before then I was this shy hermit crab...

So yea it great to step out of your comfort zone. because usually great thing happen

p.s I am actually stepping out of my comfort zone now. because I am not that good at writing... but I liked the post you wrote and had to leave a reply

That's definitely a great skill you picked up.

A great example of why we should be stepping out of our comfort zone more often...

I stepped out of my comfort zone last may, I was volunteered to give a talk at a local group on the negative impact on one of our local rivers.

Stomach churning the whole way through the talk

That's AWESOME. I've never really had to sell face to face, so that's definitely a skill I don't have.

And congrats on your writing! Practice makes perfect

That's great George- I've heard that public speaking is one of the most common fears that people have.

Which means most people won't do it. I've even met higher level managers and leaders who wouldn't speak in public.

But I think it's one of the best skills you can develop.
