How to make the internet marketing interesting?

Let's face it, the internet marketing is boring (at least to me). The money aren't a motivation for me right now, because I'm I student who doesn't work and who does and will get decent shelter and food very cheaply for the next 3 years. So I don't have to work and thus I don't have anything that boosts my motivation. I can force myself to work, but I am dying of boredom and I frequently lose focus. Consciously, I want to succeed, but my subconscious doesn't like the boring internet marketing. So, how do I make it interesting? How do I awake my interest?

    Hey There,

You need to find something in Internet Marketing that you do not find boring, try different things such as website design, graphic design, creating product (whether they be ebooks, audio, video guides...).

You also need to get of your own arse, metaphorically speaking. You need to tell yourself that if you want success, it is going to take work. I am sure some of the world richest people weren't too keen on spending most nights working till the early mornings but they could see the results that were heading their way.

Success takes action, and only you can make it happen. Although finding something that interests you might help, there will still be task that you must do which you also find boring. I noticed when I first starting out that the thought of work was boring, BUT today it is why I get up so early! What changed? I simply made the choice to get off my but and start working! I stopped my lazy ways and finally took control of my life, I can honestly say it was the best decision I have made so far in my life.

Just try working on something for five minutes, give it all your focus and attention and see if it grabs your interest slightly. You know deep down that if you truly wanted success, that it is going to take a lot of WORK.

    Best of luck!

    Have a great day!

I chose entrepreneurship over further education despite being laughed at by my friends and family..

I recently hit the "RESTART" button on my life, read my personal blog to find out how I did it :)

Thanks, Joe. I went through a deep brainstorming concerning what really interests me and what doesn't, what I am and will be doing with my life and what alternatives I have in front of me. I did a comparison chart of these alternatives. The results shocked me. The internet marketing is the winner in almost every aspect. The IM shines like a huge gold star compared to the other ways I can walk. So now motivation = recovered. I'll keep that chart nearby just in case that I ever forget why I do what I do and procrastinate.

Thanks to your tip, I remembered that once I studied HTML, CSS, PHP and MySQL. One of the things I hate a lot is writing (mainly because English isn't my native language and I don't know many words), but I like programming. So I decided to take small programming projects and the money I earn I shall invest in outsourcing the writing stuff. One article costs $5-6, but takes me 2 hours. When I was a programmer, I charged $5 for 5-10 minutes of work. I've been so stupid to not think of working as a freelancer in order to earn money for outsourcing, and thus raising my efficiency dramatically.

Usually I like exploring stuff (including the Internet) and experimenting, but the lack of fast results took my motivation away. The results of programming stuff comes up in a fraction of a second, sadly unlike the Internet Marketing. I'm not used to not see the results of my actions or inactions shortly after that. I must work a little on this, but I think I can cope with it.

    Thanks again!

Good advice from Joe, and I'm glad to se you are taking it to heart.

I admit there are certain tasks in Internet Marketing that are less than exciting and their repetitive nature sometimes makes us wonder why we're doing it. But one thought that sometimes motivates me is knowing that only a very small percentage of people will succeed at Internet Marketing. I want to be in the top 1% of those who do succeed, so I know that almost on a daily basis, I will have to do the things that other, less focused, less motivated marketers won't do, or won't do consistently, if I am going to become the best of the best.

In other words, convince yourself that your actions, no matter how boring they may be, serve to set you apart from and above the "average" marketer. If you do the necessary things consistently, you will be unique and you will succeed.

Life's too short to spend it doing something you don't love. Find something that excites you.

You need to have a big enough reason to succeed. Think about your goals and how internet marketing can help you achieve your goals. As soon as you get some good results in internet marketing they will be a motivation itself.
