Success ultimately boils down to productivity.
Productivity boils down to maximizing your time.
Maximizing your time requires an intense focus on getting the MOST out of every minute, every hour, every day.

Any moment spent complaining robs you from making a real change in your life. Try this mental diet today...

SWEET! Glad to hear it man. Let me know how it goes.

Right now I have a huge opportunity to "complain" about my 3 year old's behavior and this new mental shift has actually made me a lot more focused on dealing with it the "right" way... so it works in ALL areas of life

More JP gold. This may be more difficult than one initially imagines. Even trying it for the last hour has been tricky. Complaining is often justified as self investigation. By examining what's wrong (we think) we can move towards a solution and this can be a good thing. But (if I read your undertone correctly) your point is to not let the medicinal value of examination become a toxic poison of defeat...and it's a good one. Thanks for this vid.

Thanks Bill. Yeah you nailed it.

I was especially thinking about those times where many of us get into weakened thought patters when, for example, projects don't go as planned in business. It is very easy to complain about bad clients, bad conversions, frustration software, payment processors, etc... but at the end of the day, you need to maximize EACH moment if you really want to reach your goals. So this little "diet" keeps you moving forward rather than dwelling.

      Thanks for the input

"toxic poison of defeat". Great way of putting it and so true. Many people, including myself, sometimes get so wrapped up in things they cannot control. I work in IT for a college and have a lot of negative energy around me, "complainers". It is tough to NOT get wrapped up in it. This will be a good challenge for me. If I succeed, the guy that has a desk near me will probably think I dislike him now as I will have to ignore everything that comes out of his mouth

        Hey JustinP,

Nice post... and neat idea too.

I'd also like a 'no excuses' policy.

I firmly believe the whole world would take a massive step forward if we went allowed to make excuses...

          Hey Joe,

Awesome point. I've been applying the "no excuses" mantra with my workouts recently and I've been more successful than ever. It works well with the no complaint diet LOL.

IF you can't make excuses, all you have left is results!

I've experimented with this one many times. In one of my wealth attraction affirmations I even had a line that said "I attract money because I refine and innovate instead of criticizing and complaining." It works great. Night and day difference in your relationships with other people and in your happiness and productivity. I'm guessing the people trying this out will report the same results.

In many ways, this relates to one of the best pieces of advice I've ever received, and ironically, from someone who is active in a niche I am not too fond of personally, namely Tony Robbins (though as far as the man himself goes, I have tremendous respect for what he does).

That advice went as follows: "Raise your standards". If you are wasting too much time, if you aren't giving your projects 400% of your whole being, if you are d*cking around instead of training, or just sitting watching YouTube 24/7 (believe me, nearly all of us have been there at some point, so in no way is this intended as judgement) then that means one thing: You haven't raised your standards of what you want and expect for yourself in life.

Ironically, that's when complains start pouring, blaming everyone but ourselves.

As a follow-up to Justin's post, what do folks here do to raise their standards for what they expect of themselves and (reciprocally) life? I'd love to hear your thoughts.

    Steve

      This is one rough diet...

I guess it creates a lot of self-awareness though about how much I complain and how it seems almost automatic or a part of daily life.

    I'd try this!

It's so true especially when your head is full of a lot of stuff and you can't silence it.

    Simple but tough diet!
