Law Of Attraction - Leverage it?

Warriors,

I do believe in the premise of Law Of Attraction - Controlling your thoughts etc.

I recently noticed LOA working randomly in little aspects of recent events - Only random things, nothing significant or life-changing. (eg. Outcome of a football match.)

I've noticed that if I give a quick thought to something, that it's seemingly happening at the moment. However, if I think about something significant (or something I really want) it doesn't happen.

In LOA can you want it "too much" by thinking about the end-goal too much?
And can you leverage the power of LOA positively to your advantage?

Maybe I'm over-thinking, or maybe I'm not understanding the LOA correctly...What do we think warriors?

I'm 100% with you my man. I think the LOA is absolutely a real thing. Thoughts become things!

Almost everything in life can be controlled by your mindset. You can either decide to be a happy person and be successful. OR you can think everything is against you and you'll never amount to anything. Either way you'll be right.

I've read the Secret 3 times now and I can attribute a lot of my success to the LOA principle. Even if it's "all in my head" it's still worked for me. So I guess it is real! haha

    Keep on keepin on!

LoA is just a really great mindset to have on your journey to create a successful life.

      It's not a tool, it's a platform.

Tools for success include stuff like productivity, efficiency, education, application, etc.

That's not for LoA is, and most people think of it that way. LoA is just a group of beliefs, a mindset, which serves as a platform for attracting and implementing the tools necessary to succeed in life.

I try to be a positive person anyway, but I've seen LOA working in *specific* situations.
How, if you can, can you leverage LOA to work in a positive manner?

So if LOA is a mindset, I just got to stay positive and results/opportunities will follow, yes?

i believe that you should be positive in life, thinking positive thoughts etc...
but i don't think that imagining things makes it come true, i will tell you why, if you imagined that your team will win the match, and a fan of the other team thought that his team will win, so what will be the result? will both teams win? see my point??

Yes, I see what you mean. It's the differentiation between coincidence and LOA I need to decipher. Because, honestly a few specific events recently in my life have lead me to create this thread, as they seem much more than coincidence!

All you need to know about LoA is that, by some weird way, you'll always attract the people and means necessary to attract the things you dwell upon daily.

What you do with those people and means is up to you.

      Hey Mal

It is the real thing...I won a prize of the EuroMillions lottery as a result of my work in this area.

At the moment, you are in the Consciously Incompetent part...just just have to figure out a way to get what you want... when you want.

Its important to do the right things because we tend to get either what you want or more likely, what you don't want. It's in your thoughts...

If you are interested I wrote about this in my blog joefizz.com | Internet Marketing Coach. It might help you. There is a ebook/book if you want, but no worries.

      Llwyddiant!

You've described there my exact query. How to Consciously get LOA working in a positive manner.

I'd like to hear more how you got LOA to enable you to win a EuroMillions prize!

LOA really only works when fear isn't present about what you want. If you're wanting something positive to happen in your life, and you're thinking about the possible negative outcome in the back of your mind, (even a little bit), your mind may be pulled towards that negative thought. Remember, you can only think about ONE thought at a time. The trick is, to only focus on what you want. Forget about what you don't want, or chances are, you might get a negative outcome.

The reason "simple" things come easy, like the outcome of a football match, is because they aren't as important to you, so you aren't as fearful of a negative outcome, and you end up getting a positive result. Fear isn't in control as much.

Conversely, your finances instead might be a bigger thing to worry about, so, you're trying to think positively, while at the same time, juggling that fearful thought in your mind too. "I want this to happen, so I make a lot of money...but what if it doesn't??! Maybe I'll have wasted a bunch of time, and I won't be able to pay my bills!"...Fear may be more in control at that point.

If fear is the stronger emotion...and it usually is, then your mind is going to seek out, and find for you, and give you what it is you were fearful about all along ("See? I knew it wasn't going to work out!") Remember, your mind is just doing it's job.

One of my favorite books after the wonderful "The science of getting rich" is this: "Total Law of Attraction: Unleash Your Secret Creative Power To Get What You Want!" Which is only 99cents for Kindle.

It mentions that you have to "detach" from your desire once you have spent some time visualizing it. It's one of the few books that mentions this detachment. And it definitely rings true with me.

I highly recommend it and it's an easy quick read.

Great thread. Thank you for creating it.

      Some background on myself.

I like to think of the Law of Attraction (LOA) as something I've implemented into my way of life. As some have said, a mentality.

I've watched The Secret (by Rhonda Byrne) well over 30 times, and I learn something new every time (my mind tends to wander, constantly).

Please don't confuse it with "The Secret" with David Duchovny from X-files fame.

I've also read three books that I always recommend others read:
      1. The Science of Getting Rich (Wallace Wattles)
      2. As a Man Thinketh (James Allen)
      3. Think and Grow Rich (Napoleon Hill)

These three books can all be found for free online as ebooks. And they are powerful reads. Many, including myself, could "feel" the difference within 3 days of reading The Science of Getting Rich. It's as if it awakens an awareness in you.

I know, I know...sounds hokey, but it was indeed my factual experience.

The three books were all written in the early to mid 1900's, and have all been marketed many times over. They all contain great wisdom.

I also have the audio versions of the above, as well as Anthony (Tony) Robbins sets that I listen to often.

Another great read (listen) is the Master Key System (Charles Hanaal), which at one time was sold as a course.

My further study of the Law of Attraction involved listening extensively to the teachings of:

      1. Bob Proctor (from The Secret)
      2. Joe Vitale (from The Secret)
      3. and Abaraham Hicks (from the ORIGINAL version of The Secret)

Bob Proctor has been teaching the Law of Attraction philosophies for many years, long before the movie came out. Much of his teachings are from the books mentioned above. He is quite amazing, and one can't help but feel a great love for him.

Joe Vitale expects to be the world's first Trillionaire. Listening to him is quite interesting.

Abraham, well, Abraham I won't try to explain. You just have to listen to the wisdom with an open mind, and deep wisdom it is.

So, all these speak of the Law of Attraction. I think the movie does it best, and is a must see.

How does this all relate to the OP's original thoughts here?

Well, another speaker from the movie, namely Neale Donald Walsch, wrote a series of books called "Conversations with God". I am not a real big reader, so I prefer audiobooks, and since this was a three volume set, I really had to listen, rather than read.

What I experienced while listening to the wisdom of that audiobook was no less than mind blowing. It was so much, that I had to put it to rest, to revisit again someday when I am not so focused on marketing and earning money...lol.

What I most remember is the following words (from God):

"You cannot have what you want".

I thought about that over and over, and it was only through a combination of watching The Secret multiple times and listening to the speakers above that I "kinda" get it now and more importantly, accept it.

Wanting comes from a position of lack. By the "rules" of LOA, thoughts of lack only bring about more lack. It's not so easy to digest, so you have to look at the other aspects taught within the philosophies.

The way we continue get what we desire, is to constantly be thankful and grateful for what we have first. As we express this gratitude, in words and in actions, the Universe (God, your Higher Self, the Ether, the Source, etc.) continues to deliver to us more things to be grateful for.

It is our thought that is the creation, we are the creators of our life experiences.

      The study follows:
      1. Ask (for what you want)
      2. Believe (it is coming to you)
      3. Receive (be prepared for it to come to you)

Your main task is to "let it go" at the asking, then just have faith/belief that it is coming to you. Let the Universe do it's work...your will. People tend to miss that.

This teaching has been repeated time and time again, both in philosophy and religion, over the centuries, basically "ask and you shall receive".

If you are going to revisit it in thought, bring it as a thought or spoken word (prayer) from a position of gratitude, as if you ALREADY have it. There is no want (lack), only gratitude for what is already yours.

Some suggests when asking to state something along the likes of "...this, or something better" or "thy will be done".

I think that would only be necessary if you do not yet fully believe that YOU are the creator of your own life experience. You create it as you go.

We get to decide what path we take, what choices we make, at any given moment.

If you know what you "want", ask for it, put the desire "out there", make your choices towards it, and expect it to come. The greater you can define what you want, in your mind and/or on paper, or by what ever means works best for you. The more you FEEL you already have it, the sooner it manifests into your life experience.

That's the next level, understanding how powerful EMOTIONS are to it all, as an "afterthought".

The thought is the creation, the feeling, the desire, the passion, (and in my belief, our actions), that is what brings about the manifestation.

If this is all new to you, or even if you have been following this "stuff", it is still a lot to absorb. Learn more from those listed above. A lot of it can probably be found in your local library at no cost.

I am constantly aware that I am thankful and grateful for everything around me. When I wake, when I bed down, and throughout each day.

      Think, Feel, Live,
      JS

P.S. I also expect to learn more from Michael Beckwith in time, and I recommend Lisa Nichols, especially to all the ladies. Both of them were also in The Secret, which I suspect may be the greatest movies ever made. Thank you Rhonda Byrne!
