After sitting on my butt for a year and a high paying, soul sucking job...I've finally set a goal of running a full time authority, modestly profitable site by next September. I'm running a small business that generates recurring monthly revenue, and will be scaling that up aggressively with the goal of replacing my salary. So far I'm adding anywhere from 600-3000 word count high quality, original content every day and it seems to be working in terms of traffic. I'm getting anywhere from 250-400 unique visitors and a day and am excited to see exactly how high I can get that number by September. So far I've only messed with EMDs/aggregate type sites and to be honest, there's no better feeling than knowing you are generating quality content and solving a real problem. So, here's how I'm going to prepare myself to go full time:

1.) Savings. After this month I can really start socking away the paychecks, and am planning to save a minimum of $2,000 a month. I want to have at least an extra $25,000 in my account by then to cushion me going full time.

2.) Relocating. I've moved around a bit and am feeling the itch again. I'm looking at a smaller metropolitan area in the NE as the cost of living is extremely low.

3.) Content. I'm going to continue pumping out high quality content every day and network with other industry specific bloggers/webmasters to get my name and website out there.

4.) Business. Need to focus on scaling this out and attracting enough customers to replace my current salary.

So, this is something I've been thinking about for awhile now but literally decided to do this morning. Sundays have always been rough as I'm trying to ramp up for another work week, but something was very different about yesterday. Finally it dawned on me - I am tired of the 9-5 and can do better for myself!

While there's a good amount of BS here on the Warrior Forums, the people that are producing quality content/services have been my inspiration to cut the cord from the corporate world.

    That's the conclusion I've come to as well. I have the skills, knowledge, and passion to succeed but I have to get out there and keep trying!

    Congrats!! The fact that you set a time frame alone is going to help you attain that goal!

    Not to sound too cliche, but you can do it!! Seriously, stay focused and keep at it even when times get a little tough.

    Also, another piece of advice is to build your email list!!! Everyone single online marketer will tell you that same thing and it's true.

    I agree with you 100% on setting actionable goals and giving yourself just enough time to meet your goal, it's always worked for me and I know it will work for this new challenge I've set for myself.

    I've been through tough times before and that's exactly why I am focusing on building up an offline business tandem to the web side. There were times in NY when I didn't eat for a day, two days etc and it sucked...I never want to be there again.

    Regarding the comment about the email list...would this be a way to keep my audience focused, returning to the site etc? Or would you suggest using it for pure marketing purposes?

    Edit - I'll be posting my AdSense earnings month by month along with article & keyword count, just to keep myself accountable. Plus it should be fun to see if there's any hard correlations that can be made between content and earnings
