"Carpe diem" is popularly translated from the Latin as "seize the day".

I've been guilty in the past of allowing Shiny Object Syndrome to get the best of me. I'd buy a product, and go through the entire system. Studying and getting organized are strong suits for me, so I'd go through the system thoroughly, taking notes on each facet along the way. I'd get just to the point of taking action, and then think of some reason why the system wouldn't work, or why I might not be able to get it to work for me. So I'd abandon the plan, purchase another system, and the cycle would start anew.

It is no longer an option for me to study and study and then (perhaps) act. These days I take immediate action on what I learn, and trust that success will follow.

My message for today is to take action now. Seize the day! Do not wait for your act to be perfected before you take it on the road.

    I love that saying...

Best played out in a verse of a poem by Robert Herrick:

'Gather ye rosebuds while ye may,
    Old time is still a-flying:
And this same flower that smiles to-day
    To-morrow will be dying
    '.

Time is there to be used to the max and must be indetified as an asset.

    Llwyddiant!

This is usually when one finds success. When there are no other options and you're put in a "do or die" situation. When you are forced to commit yourself and success is the only option.

Good luck on whatever path you've chosen

Yes, it's funny how being in a do or die situation can really make people shine. It'd be nice if we could find that commitment without having our back to the wall. That is the mindset I am trying to bring to the table.

Same with me. I am very good at reading, analyzing, planning, organizing. It is amazing fun!

I actually always took action. But I never worked very hard for it. As I would see immediate flaws and want to gather even more information to make everything perfect.

I realized with time that it is better to just start and work- then fix all the flaws along the way. You still end up with a good foundation.

Sounds like you have perfectionist tendencies like I do. I am trying to learn to let going of having some much control, and just get my show on the road.

I think you touched on an important issue of OVER-LEARNING.

It often baffles me why some people would keep buying courses, techniques, systems, tricks, toolkits, Wordpress themes, resources - one after another - even though they DON'T even have enough customers/clients to apply their expertise to.

They seem to think that by improving their skills and expertise, they'd SOMEHOW make more money.

But how is it POSSIBLE to make more more by SPENDING more money on learning?

It's as simple as this: You'll never earn a dime by providing first-class products/services to customers/clients that you never have.

If all you do is honing your skills to become a "better" marketer, you may end up wasting all that skills because you can't get enough customers/clients to use it on. Improving expertise (i.e. learning) alone is like building a beautiful website without uploading it to your server, making a great meal without serving it, shooting a great movie without showing it...

Look, I'm not saying that it's not important to be an expert at what you do. Expertise is a critical component of your business, and it's important to further your education to provide top-notch services, but we're NOT paid to become better experts. We're paid to USE our expertise to help others we must figure out how to get through to them.

So true, do not wait for a specific time to act on your plans. The better time is always now. Sieze the day.

In IM, there are a lot of shiny objects. Once my business was built, I spent the next 6 months trying to figure out how to market it. I tried all of them, and the only thing that worked was duplicating my top competitor's strategy, and now I am beating them at it, and it's a huge established company. Now I focus only on what works.

    Kathy and Alivender:

It could be the technical aspects, the work involved to get it done, and, the financial commitment that is keeping you from doing the program you buy. Maybe the product has something in it you dont like to do, like phone, or, face to face. I find it hard to believe that you buy products and never use them just because.
