How to just "BE" instead of WISHING to be
Sometimes you can back it up with a plan, where you work each day or week to get closer to the goal. But you don't need a "wish" to take action on that plan.
And as I've pointed out, having a wish can actually limit you and encourage you to procrastinate.
(If your goal is $5,000 a month, will you completely miss the opportunity to make $10,000 a month that just past you by? If you want to do X in Y months, will you wait Z months to even get started? With goal setting, there's always tomorrow to work on your goal, and that's procrastination.)
So instead of wishing, maybe try it my way. Just "BE."
If you want to be an Internet marketing guru...
...or if you want to make $10,000 a month...
instead of setting the goal, write down what a person who does these things already might do each day - and then do these things each day!
This action list is much better than a goal.
Especially because you'll FAIL much quicker. How? And why is that a good thing?
Let me explain.
If you set a goal to make $10,000 per month by the end of 2013, you won't find out if you've failed until January 1st, 2014. That's a year away. Do you have that much time to figure out you need to change course?
Now contrast that to a daily action plan.
If you create an action plan tonight, and you don't complete it tomorrow, you'll know by tomorrow night if something needs to change. Tomorrow night vs. a year.
This is a crucial difference, because failing many, many times is how success comes about. Just ask Thomas Edison and his 10,000 failed light bulbs!
If you're a gambler, you can hedge your bets and create a daily action plan and set a goal... but I still say you risk limiting yourself and procrastinating. At the very least, be aware that this is likely to happen and watch your behavior for signs it's time to ditch the goal and just be.
