She has $8.44 left in her bank account

I went to the bank today to deposit some cash.

I was waiting in the cue... me being nosy i was looking at how much money the women had in her account on the screen.

She had £25.26

I'm like... DAMN! She took out a £20 then checked her balance once again to see a remaining £5.26... ($8.44)

Five Lessons To be learned today:

1. be grateful for what you have and realize how lucky you are even if you have a penny to your name.

2. Money is an IDEA backed up by CONFIDENCE, So if you don't have more than enough money your missing the combination of an idea and confidence. This women obviously lacked in these areas but when you an idea and confidence in your idea - money WILL follow. #Giveandyouwillrecieve

3. Make a difference, not only for yourself but for your kids, your family, future generations and the society. If your job doesn't make you happy get a new one NOW and find something you will enjoy in 2013! Life is too ****ing short to work at a job you hate... If you don't, you will just cause friction in other areas of your life -mostly relationships- and quality relationships are the key to happiness ie LOVE.

4. If you require more money, you will get less of it? Money has legs!

When you chase money it runs away! Ever heard the saying love comes when you least expect it, and when you look for it, it never comes? Same goes for money.

When you don't need money it floods in your life. This can be a hard concept to understand for most but when you want something too bad your actually repelling it out of your life weather it be... love, success, happiness, health whatever.... (You might earn a lot but how much do you get to keep?)

God, the universe - only gives to those who are grateful for where they are and what they have right now... NEEDING & WANTING/CHASING is being ungrateful because your telling GOD you don't have enough.

When you feel like you have plenty, you will get plenty, and you are qualified to receive the abundance you deserve.

Thinking of how grateful you are is not good enough you need to write it down (not typing, pen and paper) and if you can't do that you're not as grateful as you could be. There is power in writing things down which is another chapter on it's own. it takes 2mins to write down 10 things you are grateful for and if you do it for 30 days you will not believe the shift it will make in your life! Total time 60 minutes spread of 30 days to change your life.

5. Money will not make you happy
it will just make life a lot easier :-)

SHAMWOW have an amazing 2013 - looking forward to your input and feedback.

What would you say if I've only got about $30 in my bank account? Would you also deem me as poor?

What if I then told you I have 5 other bank accounts?

Expand your mind, bra, and maybe you won't be the victim of assumptions. The wider you think, the more opportunities you can see. I am at the point in my life where I simply don't have enough time to act on all the opportunities that come to me.

Being grateful for what you have is great for those irreplaceable things: Your family, your friends, your lover, your health...

But being grateful for something that is continually flowing through node-like people? I say bollocks!

Want more! If you want to be rich, you need to see the end game. Being grateful for what you have in your bank account is not going to get you anywhere.

If we were all grateful about our financial status, we probably wouldn't be on these forums.

Emmm, I have 6 bank accounts and I even teach this in one of my coaching programs that you should manage your money in various accounts for various things (Bills/Fun/Business/Etc)

It did cross my mind that she might have more than one account but I've never withdrawn money unless it's fun or bills(Shopping/Electric etc) related. If the money was for fun then maybe I was wrong but I doubt it.

Although appearance has not much to do with how much you have in the bank she had very old cloths and it looked like she wasn't taking care of herself at all.

I don't have time to act on all opportunities either mate. In fact I just turned down an interview today. I'm not sure why you're saying that anyway?

About being grateful, I did say write down 10 things a day you are grateful for not just money.

Valid point on the assumption but I DID NOT deem her poor not once. You made the assumption that she was poor. Therefore maybe you have fallen victim to assumption. People in 3rd world countries are poorer than her. She has a bank account and probably a home to live in - she is richer than most.

What I am trying to convey in the thread is that happiness is more important than money. This thread isn't all about having more money its more about being happy.

Did you notice that or did you assume it was all about money and the lady being poor?

I personally know a couple of people who live on a day to day basis. Whatever they earn in a week, they'll spend in a week. I think it's a rather common occurrence actually.

This is so true, I know a few people that do that with their money. If they are happy doing, what can you do LOL. It's better to focus on what the minority do with there money (Well the happy ones)

I think I get what you mean by money makes you happy. You can do a lot more for yourself and the people around you. It can provide time freedom if you have a business that let's you do that. The problem is some people get it ALL but are worse off because they have a weak foundation when it comes to money.

I would think that you are grateful for the money you have and the things you can do with it... Plus a solid foundation with managing and using money. Therefore you manifest fresh fruits for you're time and effort rather than the rotten fruits.

If you lost it all "god fobbid" I'm sure you would be motivated to get back to that place again too. What do you think?

If I was to be judged on my bank balance I currently have $22 in it and I have a visa debit card with 1 cent in it. I don't trust banks and I find it easier to run my business with my (savings) hidden under my mattress (well not literally but somewhere equally safe)
It means I have cash when I need it. I don't drive so it costs me a taxi fare to go to the bank so having the money saves me money.

If that works well for you and your happy, Great!

I know people that get upset when they make less and 100k per month obviously your threshold is a lot lower.

You now have to stretch 40 euros until you get paid. That my friend is stupid!

I did state that if it makes you happy great!

You implied my post is stupid and you think I should think wider... Emmm nah!

Obviously you know somewhere along the line having 40 euros at the end of the month isn't satisfactory to you which is why you want to do online business... Right? Along with time freedom you get, Right? So you can do more and be more happy right?

How does that make this post stupid in your current situation... Don't get me wrong I understand your happy with what your currently earning but your perusing a career online(you have a desire for more!) So you do want more life/money/time. I just think your missing some of the things I stated in this thread. This thread is perfect for you along with this thread:

you sound like you need an Idea & Confidence in your idea since it's taken you 3 years to get started. I made this thread for people like you, but you've totally thrown it out the window, therefore YOU need to think wider!

I think your a good person you just need more confidence and age has nothing to do with it. Reed Floren got started when he was 14 years old, George Brown 18 years old... So justifying my thread as stupid is an error on your part and you've blocked out information that could possibly help you out.

I mean no ill will, I'm just helping you see what your mind is currently blocking out. There is a mechanism in the mind (filter) that only lets through particular information (i'm not going to go into all the detail) but it hinders a lot of peoples success, possible even yours.

Word of advice don't call a respected marketers stuff stupid unless you've surpassed his success they probably know and experience a lot more than you. I've got a lot of experience, I know what works for me and i was only passing it on to help others.

only thing this tell me is people on your side of the pond stand way to close when others are conducting private business ..

reading in to one tiny snippet of data about someone ..and getting some large lesson out of it ..is a personal thing that has nothing to do with them..but us .

most human in this world we live on live on less than 5 dollars a day a few billion are in the dollar a day and lower zone ..

everyone has different opportunities available to them and much different priorities ..

happiness is relative ..honestly if someone get all stressed out and misserable if they make less than 100k a month .. are they really financially free ? seems like they are more a slave to money than someone who make just enough to live on week to week ..

      I agree with this.

I think it's unethical to "look down" at people.

Even if the dude was only looking with curious intentions, it's still kinda nosy.

Imagine how embarrassed that person could have been if they saw you looking over their shoulder?

That type of situation can do some real mental damage; if you think they're in bad shape now just wait for the mental image of shame to set in. Negativity is an energy, and stuff like that can cause real damage. (in my opinion).

Life is tough for some; do what you can to help; not spy (and look down upon).

PS: People are more dreadfully broke than you think.

We have a established that but again a majority of the public do not manage their money this way. We are not all entrepreneurs and I think a lot people forget reading this is that we are completely 180 from a majority of the population.

People here have a keen intrested in marketing and mindset therefore theres a good chance they think and act a lot different especially when dealing with money. Most people have no clue.

In fairness, it doesn't matter how people handle their money, the fact remains that many people (even the non IMer) have more than one bank account

A friend of mine (marketer) sold his car so he would take the bus to his office just to listen to the conversations of his target market! By using this intel he was able to increase is income.

    Thanks for the post.

It sucks how a ton of people out there are literally dead broke. It honestly makes me sad.

I grew up in the greater Boston area and a SOLID majority of people around here are dead broke or in poverty. (Sad in such a rich city / country).

It's true that there are a wide spectrum of social programs designed to help people, imagine not being able to get any decent food, or watch tv, or take money out to take care of your kids? (Imagine having kids and no money, no new clothes, not being able to buy them cool stuff?)

Don't know what else to say really.

Be thankful for what you have. Try to help others in need every way you can.

Most of the population of the UK have £5 in their bank accounts. I didn't realise this for years - I thought everyone saved as much money as I did.

The funny thing is... it's not even a question of how much I earn, it's more a question of how much I don't spend compared to other people.

    Hmm, there's a message here.

As someone who has been "broke and beyond" I wholeheartedly agree with you! When one has no money, it's extremely difficult - nearly impossible - NOT to think about money and obsess about it all the time. But then you're screaming to the universe, "I don't have...!!! I lack!!!" and that's what you'll get. Even if you don't believe in the metaphysical stuff, you know that you pick up on peoples' vibes, right? Those vibes either attract you or repel you and you don't even know why. Since people are necessary for your success, you have to project the best vibe possible.

If you manage to take your attention away from your lack of money and instead focus on the contribution you can make to the world, the value you bring, and what you want your life to look like... your mindset will change. Your vibe will change.

Nothing turned around for me until I got control of my mind through meditation and writing a daily gratitude journal. The less I thought about money and the less I wanted it, the more easily it came to me!

reading some of the posts it seems to me how different people are and how they will percieve one situation in completely different ways. One can see a glass half empty, one can see it half full, and another cannot even see the glass.
    Fascinating
