Which Film Inspires/Motivates You ?

Hey warriors,
I am a Big Fan of Movies and watch a New movie every other Day.

But one Movie inspired me very Much was IN TIME.

The film was not very good but the concept was superb. In the movie, time was the currency and to buy anything,a person have to give his time through a Little machine which is attached in the arm.And when the time is over in that machine, the person dies.

After that,I realized the Value of every second in Life.

Just wanted to know out of curiosity,

Which Film inspired you and Motivated you ?

Hope I get some new Movie names to get Inspired.
#film #inspires or motivates

Tom and Jerry is a great film also. It teaches us that laughter is always the best medicine. A simple smile is worth a whole day full of happiness.

The Pursuit of Happiness. This is the movie that's based on the life of Chris Gardner the broke, homeless salesmen & father that turned successful stock broker.

The movie hits me on many levels that I've experienced in my own life. (Yeah homelessness sucks. Been there done that, not going back!) To quote Forest Gump, "That's all I have to say about that"

Really? I see all guys, all white guys, and someone who says you should treat co-workers with respect and then turns and throws someone out of the room as being overqualified.

Now Pursuit of Happiness -- that movie I loved and have watched a couple times for inspiration. In fact, maybe I'll pop in tonight one more time.

I also love Miracle -- the movie about the U.S. Olympic ice hockey team.

The Pursuit of Happyness (2006) - casts were Will Smith and his son Jaden. Very inspirational it teaches me how to appreciate simple things such as food and shelter. In the story Will Smith is a father who is struggling with homelessness together with his son. And you can see how he works hard everyday just to provide shelter and food for his son. Eventually his hardwork pays off and he was able to get a job a salesman.

First on the list is Pursuit of Happiness like the others mentioned here already.

Here's one quote from the movie which I even want to say to my wife (lol) when she doubts my persistence and something that I will say to my son when he grows up:

Christopher Gardner: Hey. Don't ever let somebody tell you... You can't do something. Not even me. All right?
        Christopher: All right.
Christopher Gardner: You got a dream... You gotta protect it. People can't do somethin' themselves, they wanna tell you you can't do it. If you want somethin', go get it. Period.

In Pursuit of Happiness really inspired me greatly. Chris Gardner's nearly one-year struggle with homelessness with a child to support is painful to watch but he Succeeds. The film features Will Smith as Gardner, an on-and-off-homeless salesman-turned stockbroker. I think most of us would understand the struggles faced by the poor chap.

I have to say that 'Cloud Atlas' really made a big impact on me recently. Just the idea that the human race will survive into the far distant future and the way we live our lives now can have a significant, positive effect on future generations. Plus, it has some pretty awesome sci-fi aspects too..

I am a movie fan. too. I don't watch much TV, but I watch a lot of movies of all genre.

One of the most inspiring and enjoyable movies that comes to mind, and that my spouse and I watch every once in a while, is Secondhand Lions, with Michael Caine, Robert Duvall and Haley Joel Osment (the "I see dead people" kid).

A great portrayal of relationships and the meaning of life.

I never fail to get misty-eyed at the end of that movie!

Netflix, Blockbuster, TiVo, DVD, whatever, find these movies and play them over and over until your bank account says stop:

      The Edge
      - "I'm gonna kill the bear...say it!! Again! And again!! What one man can do, another can do!"
      Castaway - "Fiiiiiirrrrre!!"
Star Wars - "Use the force, Luke."
Boiler Room - "Whoever tells you that money is the root of all evil, doesn't f***ing have any."
The Shawshank Redemption - "Get busy livin', or get busy dyin'. That's g*ddamn right."
Any Given Sunday - "G*ddamnit you're dumb enough, we made this sh*t is simple enough!"
      Braveheart - "Freeeeddom!"
Pumping Iron - "The wolf at the top is not as hungry...but when he wants to eat, it's there."

If these movies don't get you going, you should stop watching movies.

          It's a Wonderful Life
Usually just watch around Christmas - but a timeless message

          Joe Versus the Volcano
Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan comedy - movie was a flop, critics hated it.
They just didn't get it...Tom Hanks was told he had a rare terminal disease and finally decides to go live his life when it's almost over.
          Great quote from the movie...
"Most people spend their whole lives asleep, the people that are truly awake, live in constant amazement."

Ok, going to dig through my DVD's I'm sure I missed a couple

The Pursuit of Happyness is a genial movie and so is The Shawshank Redemption. Both Chris Gardner and Andy Dufresne fighting for their dreams and going through an awful lot of obstacles... Obstacles that most of us won't get in touch with in our lifetime. Obstacles that create a character. It (or the lack of it) makes us weak or strong, poor or rich, miserable or successful, etc. It's us that make our choices.
    Have you made yours?

I thought Cloud Atlas was pretty good. Also Dredd is a good inspirational film when it comes to opposing darkness while things seem hopeless(ok maybe a little violent).

Ya "dark city" was an interesting one along with the "thriteenth floor" and "the matrix"...And gladiator is definitley a classic

This is my best movie list, still gotta add a few things to it, and some of the movies are fairly negative, but worth the watch none the less:

As for movies slightly similar to "dark city" and the matrix:

Probably Good Will Hunting and V for Vendetta. As when ever there on tv I get sucked in and feel more positive and focused after watching. Another good one is Gattaca.

I wonder are some people just name movies? Spongebob shouldn't even be on TV. I hate that guy!!!!
I thought this was about inspiring motivational movies?

Anyway, pursuit of happiness was good for that quote that someone mentioned. Plus these three movies:
RUDY, BREWSTER'S MILLIONS, &, A KNIGHTS TALE Starring HEATH LEDGER!!!!

Does this make me a bad person to say Boiler Room?

I hope not. I don't agree with the unethical things they were doing, but it still inspires me how a college dropout could find success in sales, despite it being illegitimate success.

I used to say that if I only had 24 hours to live I would spend the first 2 watching Harold and Maude. It is an odd movie but once you understand why Maude is the way she is you will truley appreciate life more. I actually found the entire movie at Youtube - Harold and Maude Full Movie - YouTube

Also two thumbs up for The Shawshank Redemption and October Sky!!!

As for The Matrix - fun movie ....but inspirational ? I do not see that.

One movie that I put on when I need a little inspiration is Limitless. It is about a guy who finds a "super drug" that enables him to have extreme focus. I am not advocating drug use, and in the end he finds a way to access his super focus without the drug. I just find the movie inspires me to focus super hard on what needs to be done and block out all of the noise.

I love Mr Holland's Opus. I am not ashamed to admit that I have watched this film more times that I could even estimate and yet it makes me cry each and every time!

This film helps you to realise just how much of a difference one person can make in so many people's lives. You may even think you're a failure because things haven't worked out the way you planned but if you have been able to touch the life of just one person in a special way then you're certainly far from being a failure

There was something about this scene from Dark Knight Rises that really got to me. I started to imagine being in the pit and looking up to the sky day after day with all the freedom of the surface almost close enough to touch, but yet so far.. This has become a common visualization that I do. I imagine myself in that pit and try to imagine what it is that I would yearn to do if I got back to the surface.

Other truly inspirational movies that have really affected my life are
    • Adaptation
    • Magnolia
    • Weatherman
    • Shawshank Redemption

    • Braveheart
