How committed are you?
I just felt inspired to share this:
Emotions have NOTHING to do with your commitment to success.
It's clear to me that the reason we procrastinate or refuse to do the things we intend to do is because of some kind of subconscious fear that we haven't overcome. Often times we let these emotions dictate what we do or don't do.
But what if you were committed? What difference would it make?
What if your excuses and all your procrastination is a test of your commitment to success?
Now imagine for a moment that you are dating the perfect girl (or guy), and you didn't commit to having a happy and successful relationship. Would she (or he) want to stay with you?
Does it ever make sense to be with someone who is wishywashy or uncommitted? Likewise, if you don't commit to your business, then how likely do you think you would succeed?
So how committed are you?
Are you willing to stay the course regardless of whatever emotions show up?
I'm in a situation right now where I'm experiencing hair loss. I'm not exactly excited by it, but I became determined to change my health completely starting 6 months ago. The result of this is that this is the first winter where I haven't gotten a cold. My backpain has diminished considerably and acne is clearing up very quickly. My body is tremendously more resilient and I have more energy. (BTW, I don't like eating veggies. I drink them, and take quality supplements).
However, I've been overwhelmed with the fact that there is so much information to be gained about how to reverse hairloss through nutrition. But is it stopping me? Not in the least.
Is it easy to give up and go back to eating junk food (which will contribute towards my hair loss)? To a degree, yes, but not really because my desire to be healthy and youthful is far stronger than my desire to eat junk food.
In other words, I am driven to remain looking several years younger than my biological age.
So, here's a tip to help you get committed:
What is your COMPELLING reason to be successful?
Your answer shouldn't be "because I want to make money" because that doesn't compel you, does it? If it did, then you would be doing it!
Even an answer like "to be financially free" probably won't compel you because it may be too vague unless you have a very clear picture of what that looks like and it must totally excite you.
If your reason is to be financially free, and your motivation is based on avoiding pain (i.e. getting away from a terrible job) as opposed to the joy of providing a valuable service to people who want your skills/knowledge/product, then guess what? You will probably only do what it takes to avoid the pain (like procrastination, or constantly getting ready to get ready which just gives the false illusion of 'being busy' and thereby not producing revenue!)
Lastly, if you feel you really can't commit, here's a hint: Perhaps you're in the wrong business!
