3 Difficult People at Your Workplace and how to deal with them
Do you know someone in your workplace that can easily drive crazy? Does her mere presence make you uncomfortable? Have you run out of ways to properly deal with her simply because she's just difficult? If you say yes to some or all of the questions above, fret not because you are not alone. Different human resource books reveal that almost anyone who is working in a professional environment already encountered some, if not many difficult people in their workplace.
The key to understanding and dealing with difficult people is to recognize them for who they are. Just like in any relationship, it's easier to detach your emotions and plan a course of action if you know what you are dealing with. There are many kinds of difficult people but in this article, I will talk about the 3 difficult people at your workplace and the things you can do to deal with them.
The Complainer
People are often unsatisfied about their work but this fella will complain about everything and anything under the sun. You haven't even settled on your seat when suddenly she will come by to your workstation and complain about the rude cab driver, malfunctioning elevator, broken computer and such. Then she will continue blabbing about how terrible your boss is and how she's not being paid well enough and how there's a lot of unfinished work on her desk.

How to deal with her
Listen to her as much as you can but honestly and politely ask her to stop when necessary. Tell her that you're not comfortable talking about things inside your office and that you'd consider talking about it outside the office. Voice out your concern about her attitude and give a healthy space between the two of you to avoid future conflict.

The Pessimist
The glass is never half full for this kind of people. For them, it is habitually half empty! They will always think that all your efforts to close a prospective contract will fail and your suggestions regarding a new project will never work. They will never recognize your success and will negate any positive changes in your career by saying that it won't last.

How to deal with her
In this situation, compassion is the antidote of choice. There is no need to listen to her opinion about you and other people because at the end of the day, her opinion is not important. Tame her impulses by having the determination to succeed and minding your own business. Soon she will realize that you can actually succeed and that she can't do anything about it.

The Control Freak
This personality type is very common in the workplace and unfortunately these people might be your boss, immediate supervisor or senior colleague. It's their way or the highway for them because your submission validates their authority.

How to deal with them
Acknowledge the anxiety that they are going through because of the pressure and the demands of their job. Patiently listen to them and try to learn from their experience and style. If you have the chance, try voicing out your concerns or ideas. If they are still being very hard about it, just do your best and follow their way until you earn their trust. Then you can be more creative and responsible for your actions without having to succumb to these control freaks.

Building a healthy relationship is important in having a productive working environment. Try checking out the mirror if you're also being difficult to other person and try change for the better.
