Shawn Achor: The happy secret to better work | Video on TED.com

I've just started writing my 3 things per day as well as a small entry, as Shawn asks for us to try in the video.

I really like this presentation as well. The challenge is to maintain the process as I am probably guilty of starting to do what he suggests and the moment you stop you lose that momentum. Maybe everyone who views this thread should report back in 21 days to confirm they have carried out all the suggestions for that period of time. If we are all committed and accountable it will be interesting to see what changes have occurred during that time.

    My Notes from the Video
(and yes, I'm gonna try it)

For just 2 Mins/day for 21 days in a row:
    • 3 Gratitude's - Write down 3 new things that you are grateful for - 21 days in a row. (end of 21 days, your brain is trained to scan the world to look for the positive instead of the negative)
    • Journaling about 1 positive experience you've had over the past 24 hours
(allows your brain to re-live it)
    • Exercise
(teaches your brain that your behaviour matters)
    • Meditation
(allows your brain to get over the culture that we are creating to try and do multiple tasks at once, allowing our brains to focus to the task at hand)
    • Random Acts of Kindness - or conscious acts of kindness
(Train yourself when you open up your inbox, to write one positive email - praising or thanking someone in your social supporting network)

    Good presentation.

Definitely just a "business" approach to what has been trying to be taught to mankind for thousands of years by not only our ancients, but the greatest minds in history such as Albert Einstein, Napoleon Hill, Leonardo Da Vinci etc, as well as spiritual leaders such as Buddha and Mother Teresa.

It's a start, and it's a wonderful thing to see the possibility of world peace coming into view.
