Taia was our constant companion and true warrior. She was tough as nails and never ever gave up. She sat with me by the computer for hours on end giving me the inspiration to keep on keeping on.
I apologize for using the Warrior Forum to eulogize her but she was a Lhasa Apso whose heritage is that of a guard dog for the monks in Tibet. Appropriately she was a gentle warrior.
As I held her during her last breaths I realized the courage our animal friends show and the passion they have for staying in the moment and doing everything they can do to the fullest.
The lesson for me is to honor her memory by staying strong, staying on purpose and never letting go of the "bone"!
Some of you will take offence to my using the forum this way and you can report me, others will take inspiration from what her passing is trying to convey.
May I share a Dog's Prayer with you?
When I am gone, release me, let me go- I have so many things to see and do.
You must not tie yourself to me with tears,
Be happy that we had so many years.
I gave you my love, you can only guess
How much you gave me in happiness. I
thank you for the love you have each shown.
But now it is time I traveled alone.
So grieve awhile for me if grieve you must,
Then let your grief be comforted by trust, It is only for a while that we must part,
So bless the memories within your heart,
I will not be far away, for life goes on,
So if you need me, call and I will come.
Though you can not see or touch me, I will be near.
And if you listen with your heart, you will hear
All my love around you soft and clear.
And then, when you must come this way alone, I will greet you with a smile and "Welcome Home".
Look to animals for real inspiration and your path will become clear.
True power is in the present moment - cherish it.
