Incentives... What do you do?

I have big goals in life and plan to achieve them. And sooner rather then later...

I find giving myself an incentive to push harder and longer and more importantly more focused, is the perfect way to function for myself.

For example. I really want a nice NEW top of the range car.. with my current situation.. I can't afford the cars I like that are new and buy one outright, And I certainly don't want credit.

I purchased a number plate... It is PERFECT for my name! It was quite expensive.. but well worth it! It can only go on a 2011 or newer car... sucks as mines a little older. But I did this because now I want to work even harder towards one of my goals!

I don't know if anyone does anything like this... whether it is even something like book a holiday and pay the deposit(Just an example)... but just curious!?

Do you give yourselves incentives? And what helps to push you harder and faster towards your own goals?

Input is very appreciated!

Craig

I am motivated by my family and wanting to provide them with opportunity to learn grow and experience a rich and rewarding life. I enjoy my work and my hobbies so I do not need any further incentive. If buying the license for the car works for you it is the perfect incentive. Best of luck achieving it.

I'm sure you've read "Think and Grow Rich" and if you haven't, I recommend picking it up, I can tell it will be right up your alley...

I do a lot of incentives and envisioning of the future I want.

Every morning and every night I read aloud a list of my goals to myself and the contract I made with the universe to achieve them.

I imagine myself living in my dream world...the house I own, the car I drive, the family I have, the work I do, the person I am, the friends I have, the things I'm learning

And I do it twice a day....

And its not enough to just imagine...To make it really work, add emotion. Think about the smells, the conversations, the way it makes you feel.

Before you know it, you'll be in that car you want.

My one recommendation is this...If you bargain with life for a penny and on your last day on earth, it grants you your wish...don't complain, for it surely has have given you only what you've asked for.

      Keep it up Craig!

Thanks! I just find having something to look forward to helps! I have no children yet! Obviously it's nice to team my family! So when I have my own family it will definitely be a bigger incentive buddy!

Thanks for popping by and replying!

  • There are always different ways of providing incentive for yourself - a new hot ride is certainly one of them. I love to travel, so I will set a deadline and a destination to a place I either love going to, or have never been. Once the plan is set, there are of course different levels of vacation packages I can treat myself to, as far as how nice of a hotel/room and what shows/events I want to visit when I get there.

Do I want the Plain Jane package with a basic to do list of just sipping cocktails on a beach? Or do I want the Baller Suite with full concierge services, seeing a different show every night, go scuba diving in a barrier reef, or being able to throw $1000 down on Black just for the rush?

The level of how you reward yourself is all up to how YOU drive yourself to the level of compensation and lifestyle you deserve. So ask yourself, do you want Salisbury or Filet Mignon?
