Remember that, no matter how bad your stress is now, there are millions of others in this world at this very moment who are are even stressful than you. Always have a sense of gratitude of what you already have as compared to many others who don't have anything at all.

The keyword is to be thankful of what you already have now.

  • Remind yourself of who you are and how you've gotten to where you are today. There are many other things so much more important than money, but if it's really bogging you down; remind yourself that you CANNOT fail. That you MUST succeed. Take some time to sit down and ponder your options, or seek assistance if you're stuck.

We all go through rough times; really the question is: What are YOU going to do about it?

When in a stressful situation, such as financial stress, there is usually not a quick or easy way to get out of it. You might develop a plan to pull you out of the situation, but it will take time to put the plan into place and wait for the results.

In the mean time, the stress is still weighing very heavily upon you. What does a person do?

First, take a step back from the situation, clear your mind of it and try to relax your mind and your body. Simply relax. Some people use techniques like closing their eyes and working on relaxing one part of the body at a time.

When your body and mind are in a more relaxed state, you are able to control and manage the stress much better.

Second, once you are in a more relaxed state, start writing down the steps you can take to alleviate the situation or relieve the stress. In other words, look at what you can do about the problem and make a step-by-step plan to deal with it.

When you have a clear plan of action mapped out, you will feel in greater control and will feel less stressed about the situation.

Third, where possible, discuss the situation with a trusted family member or friend. If you can get them involved as part of the plan to alleviate the problem, all the better.

The act of sharing the concern with someone else who you trust helps to get the issue outside of yourself and when it is "outside" like that, you will feel less stressed and in more control of it.

Those are a few ideas that just came to mind. I hope you (and other members) find some value in them.

Financial stress is something very familiar to me. It is something that blows out of proportions in your head and becomes overwhelming very easily.

The best way I have found to, not alleviate, but fix the problem is getting a proper perspective. I do this by going outside in the nature (I love the forest) for a walk. I walk to my favorite spot and just quiet down and watch the view. While I'm there I try to get the sense how small I am in the big scheme of things and how little all these artificial demands I make on myself are. After I realize how small these 'problems' actually are, I just decide on a way I'll deal with it without any over-analyzing.

The decisions I make there have always been the right ones. It feels like I get an objective view on the challenge, because I'm looking at my financial life from a natural surrounding which does not even recognize finances.

If you're too far from a good view spot in the nature, find a good view spot over the city. Preferably a place where you feel that you can't be bothered at. Whatever helps you to have a different perspective of the world. Go there, clear your mind, be very aware of where you are at this moment and visualize the issue in hand as an outsider to find the, usually obvious, answers.

“You can never solve a problem on the level on which it was created.” -A. Einstein

You've only got one life, and I honestly don't have enough time to stress out about much. Even if I didn't have money (and there was a time when I didn't have much), I just kind of ignored it (Not the responsibility of it, but just that it wasn't a big issue and with enough hard work I'll be able to pull through.) Try to find something you can enjoy if you're hunting for work, or find a way to enjoy it. I kind of miss working - meeting new people at work was always fun (I worked at an amusement park - lousy pay, but absolutely enjoyable!)

According to Lee Iacocca, the most successful entrepreneur is “the one who holds onto the old, as long as it is good, and grabs the new just as soon as it is better”. Patience, and innovation are the best weapons against financial stress

Stress is normal. With regards to financial stress, best way to handle it is to stay away with credits, work hard and smart that way you'll no longer have stress financially and then you'll only be worried about physical stresses, lol.
