30 day trial- Wakeup at 7am

I set up another trial recently, but it turned out to be more of a realization than a trial. At first I had tried to get up at 5am, but then I realized that wouldn't work because going to bed around 8-9pm would just cut out my evening time, whereas going to bed between 10 and 11 is much, much better and I still class 7am as an early morning time.

I will post my bedtime, my wake up time, my ease of waking up and my energy/clarity level.

Waking up at 7am is a great time because by 2pm it feels the whole day has passed, when I have another 8 hours to go.

Another thing is that some of my family are early risers (around 6-7am early risers), this should motivate me further.

Challenge begins tomorrow
April 25th- May 25th

Well - the problem is that in order to wake up early, you need to go to bed early. Not very easy if you are someone who is a night-owl. My senses seem to come alive at 6pm and last until 2am... Ugh. Help me! lol

Well I guess being a night owl is right for you, since your peak times are then. That is why I'm getting up at7am, since my peak times are from about 7am-11:30am.

I wish I slept to 7... but my mornings are so productive when it's all quiet, cool and everyone's asleep.
I guess I'm one of the 'lucky' ones. 5-6 hours of sleep is more than enough for me....

    April 25th

    Woke up at 7:00
    Slept at 11pm

    Success!!

    Ease of waking up: 7/10
    Energy/clarity level: 8/10

So I slept around 8 hours last night and I feel great, much better than when I slept 8.5 and 9 hours. I guess my golden sleep amount is between 6 and 8 hours. It did feel by 1pm that the whole day had passed too. So I was up at 7am and off to school at 8am, therefore I had a good hour to get everything ready.

I've been waking up at 6:30 for about...8 years in a row now. It gets easier, if you stick with it

    Cool.

I personally sleep until 7:20 am and 7:30 am I leave for school.

I got fed up of it and like you I tried to set up a goal.

Now I wake up at 7 am and use the same time to exercise.

    One problem though...

    It doesn't get easier.

    It gets harder.

For a while... like day one is easy... day 10 is impossible... and day 30 is easy again.
    Something like that.

    Why?

You lose motivation. At least I do.
You want to get back to old habits.

After a month, you may make it a new habit.
And habits are easy to do.

Sheer will must be used to avoid that.

    But...

If you quit at the peak of "hard"...
Then you have to start over again.

For motivation you can even use a penalty.

Tell yourself -> if I don't wake up at 7 am whole week - I will not use computer for whole weekend.

To increase the techniques power - tell that to a close friend or a family member.
(I'm afraid to do that, so I rather keep my own promises).

Similarly, you can use a pleasure.

    Finally,
good luck; it's time to get some sleep :|

Thanks for your tips, I may take some on board. I could use a reward system that if I manage to wake up at 7am for 30 days, I will take myself skating or do something I love, but rarely do!

Not a bad day. I wasn't that alert in the morning, but by 10am, things started to pick up. I did wake up at 6:20, but decided to sleep till 7, however I woke up not as great at 7, so I should have got up then. I am still continuing this challenge because I want this to be a success!
