To 'succeed' at anything, to have power in any situation, it really helps to have insight into its true nature. Not just the surface stuff, the little circles of reactions and assumptions where we're usually trapped, but the multi-dimensional, full colour, big picture reality.
This is what divination is for. Not so much for 'thinking outside the box' (meh) as for dissolving the box.
