I am pulled in so many directions. I want to be successful in IM but what I'm noticing is I do too much stuff. I keep buying wso and not using most of them. Right now I've got some knowledge in cpa, ppc and I've got some plr rights. I've got a ton of plr products on my hard drive I'm not selling, however I did register a domain and begun changing the cover graphics and I'm forcing myself to put it online this week. I know I can only get so far "forcing" myself to do it. I want to change on a deeper level to where it's somewhat automatic.

What are some of your tips and strategies for focusing on 1 income stream and developing it??

I can tell you one thing that seems to be a major problem
"I know I can only get so far "forcing" myself to do it." If you feel like you are forcing yourself to do it...then you are always going to feel like it is a chore. Answer these 4 questions.

    1. What pain do I associate to doing my work?
Maybe its the pain of having to put out a lot of effort...etc...

    2. What pleasure do I gain by not doing my work?
This may sound like a dumb question, but you have gotten a lot of pleasure by not doing the work as well. Maybe its just getting the pleasure of having free time that you can use in other areas of your life?

    3. What will it cost you if you don't do your work? Be very detailed in answering this question.
It will cost me money, and that will make me feel bad
It will cost me in my personal life ...
*Creating a huge list of all of the things it will cost you present and long term.

    4. What will you gain by taking this action? Present and long term!
    For Example...
I will gain an increase in my self esteem because I know I got the job done.
I will gain in my happiness because I can move on to work in other areas of my life
I will gain in my level of self confidence.
I will gain more wealth, and that will help me purchase items that I want, and increase my level of financial independence.
    I will gain
    I will gain
    I will gain

Create a huge list that will really turn this so called pain of work into something very pleasurable for you!

"the pain of putting in work and possibly not seeing results. going in the wrong direction based on what i've been "taught" even though the big hitters in im may be doing something different. i guess its the lack of confidence in what i think i know. i know it takes time but i want to eventually see $$$$ results, that'll keep me motivated to keep going."

"actually none. i can't call it pleasure, it's more or less like a numb feeling. instead of working on landing pages I'll be watching tv or somewhere out for drinks talking about all the money I want to make. "

"actually you answered it just like i would've, i'd also gain another option and the freedom to leave my job and build a recession proof business"

i'll work on creating this list on my lunch break. thanks for your response. this is good for me to think on and get my mind right.

Just that, focus only on one and don't move to anything else until you're satisfied of your work.

Get a timer, 60 minutes then it plays an alarm sound.

Plan the first site, use the timer to work 4 times a day on it with no allowed distractions.

I don't know if you can perform this, brendan, but Thom Hartmann (author) has a theory that the act of walking balances the hemispheres of the brain.

Makes sense that we evolved with a lot of walking.

Anyway, he's a highly respected dude and he wrote a whole book about it.

    Works wonders for me.

    Walk and then Focus.

    Good luck, man.

Just create a plan and do the steps seriously. Don't jump to the next step while you are not done with the present.

I JUST posted a video about this on youtube

Basically, my advice to you is to get a mentor/coach to help you develop a game plan and hold you accountable.

Also - start each day with making your To Do List so that you can stay on task

Third- remove yourself from all the other things that are distracting you (emails from other gurus etc..)

But the main thing I always teach when it comes to "staying focused" is to get someone else (a coach or a mastermind team) to hold you accountable

F.O.C.U.S. - Follow One Course Until Successful

I, too, used to be pull from all directions. Then I stepped back and assessed what I enjoyed doing and what I could get lost doing day after day.

I finally stepped away from the "quick money" CPA, PPC, etc markets because I enjoy researching, creating and writing. I now create my own products and I enjoy copywriting. Now, if I get an offer for a PPC course that guarantees $65,346/month I don't get distracted because I tell myself that I would be doing it for the money rather than what I love to do.

thanks for the responses. you guys have provided some great tips. i really like that idea about using a timer. it's similar to another strategy i've heard talked about called time blocking.

i've got my work cut out for me.

btw- i'll be looking for a mentor soon. i've decided that i'm not spending anymore money til i make somemore off my internet ventures.

I focus by keeping my mind on my goals. You just need to think about why you should be focusing.

Work in sets of times, and take a break. Just think about what you might accomplish.

The best suggestion I can tell you is to get a mentor! You can check the Warrior Forum from time to time to find great discounts on coaching programs. One word of caution is to do your research first and make sure they have plenty of measurable testimonials to review.

great responses and great tips.. just like the OP i have the same problem that I cant focus on things. I am being directed in all directions and at the end of the day end up accomplishing nothing. I have a lot of plr and other products I can sell but it just sits in my pc. I have my domain too but instead of focusing on working on it I keep doing other things. It frustrates me at times and its just so hard on how to make things done. Reading the tips here is a great help on somebody like me who has this kind of problem too. Nice tips everyone.
