Would you call this behavior Lazy?

I have a friend who is very skilled in his line of work and makes a lot of money in less than six months a year usually when the weather is lousy.

Then, I swear to god, he closes up shop and has the time of his life doing everything from "nothing at all" to traveling the world or taking on a personal project at his discretion.

And, he's done this for the past seven years now. . . .

Would you call him lazy for throwing away the opportunity to make even more money if he would stick it out and work, work, work? Or is there something to this "devil may care" behavior?

I would call him successful. It sounds like he's living his life on his own terms and is enjoying it.

Just when you think you've got it all figured out, someone changes the rules.

Wow.. I would call him a success

Personally i believe that he is living his dream life.. And working to get tons of money is useless if you don't enjoy it.

    Cheers,

He is living his life to his personal fullest.

Money isn't what people want. And they would be a lot more successful if they realized that and started figuring out what they really wanted and how much money that requires.

me i am planning to use im to allow me to live in tropical environments ..where you can live well or with a pretty high standard of living for not so much money ..

you do not need a lot of money to live well if you break away from the old mindset of trying to look rich .

right now i primary care taker for my elderly parents ..i have watched them decline in health to where they have needed my help for basic stuff the last two years ..

work to live.. living to work is not that healthy .

Perfect happiness is the highest attainment in life.

      If he's happy then he's a success.

He goes to work and works hard for 6 months of the year.
I know people who don't work hard any part of the year and nearly vomit come Monday morning because they are sick at the thought of going back.

    Lazy? Heck no!

Have you ever traveled extensively? That calls for energy my friend. A lazy person couldn't handle it.

    Lazy? Heck no.

As others have pointed out, money is not the means to the end. You don't work for MONEY, you work for money...to buy food, clothes, travel, etc.

If you are making enough to live comfortably and ENJOY your life, why would you need more?

I call it contentment. He's contented on what he got and for him he believes that he's successful. He's not into taking all the money and all the riches, he's up to being happy and enjoying his life.

    That's WOW!
I don't think that it is laziness. Your friend is simply enjoying his work and enjoying the returns of his work. It is something that rewarding yourselves for those achievements.

    Successful.

Ask him what took him and what action he had to take to reach the stage in where he can travel for half the year.
