This is how I stay motivated, I am probably insane.

While I do not believe specifically in "The Secret," I do believe that a law of positive attraction is somewhat real.

Every morning I wake up and I am exhausted as I am simply not a morning person. I get up and stumble into the shower like I just came out of a 2 week bender.

I get dressed (my shirt is probably on backwards and my socks don't match.)

Now here is the fun part,

I get in my car and pull onto the highway.

I put on my favorite rap jam to get me going.

Then I scream at the absolute top of my lungs.

P-O-S-I-T-I-V-E

TODAY IS GOING TO BE A GOOD DAY.

I AM GOING TO MAKE MONEY AND I AM GOING TO CRUSH IT AT WORK.

THIS DAY IS MINE WHOOOOOO (Ric Flair.)

By the end of my roaring I am laughing and smiling as most of the people in traffic look at me like I have 5 heads. I am now in a positive mindset.

It sounds stupid and weird but it works.

Zig Zigler used to suggest something similar to this but literally when you woke up each day. I can't remember the details as it has been a while since I read it.

It's a fun idea and I think for most people some version of this would work.

Haha, this might be just what I need. I am the WORST morning person. At university I learnt that I have a condition called Delayed Sleep Phase Disorder, it means that I find it impossible to keep wht would be described as a 'normal' sleeping pattern. For example, for at least the last 10 years, 90% of the time I don't go to sleep until between 3am and 6am, and I usually wake up naturally at around 12pm to 2pm. This is part fo the reason why I knew I would never be able to work a 9 to 5 job, that's how the internet marketing career formed

What a fantastic way to start your day techniques like these seem strange and weird, but they really do work. I used to work for a telemarketing company a few years ago and we'd all have a "positive" session before the shift started. Basically, we'd all chant positive words to get our into a positive frame of mind before we started making sales call. Thing is.. it worked.

Sorry, slightly off topic: RockNRolla, have you tried forcing yourself to wake-up at the same time every day? I believe that I too have delayed sleep phase syndrome, spent years going to bed somewhere between 1am and 6am, But recently forced myself into a "normal" sleeping routine and have seen my productivity go through the roof...

  • Hey Kroncept,

The best thing about your style is that you know it works for you and that's what matters.

And, yes, I'm glad you can do this and not run off the highway. That is a skill in itself!

Keep up the positive motivation and keep winning the day.

Haha! That’s funny and weird idea. Every individual has a capacity to attract positive thinking by each day. But, in your action, it’s clear that you are trying to make a difference in life. That might not acceptable by the other people but it's your own way, anyway. I like it.

Very funny idea! I just like to jump out of bed and see how many push ups I can do. I may still be tired and want to go back to bed, but after doing push ups, you know the day has already started!

There seems to a common trend here... I am 42 years young, and for as long as I can remember; "I too despise mornings!"

Not sure if I qualify for any natural disorder by term, but... I find it unnatural to be ordered to wake up early!

Over my 30 years working, nearly 80% involved some form of self-employment or independant contractural agreements, whereby; I could avoid starting before 9am - 10am.

I like the 'screaming part' as well, only difference is my music preference, lol

I love good products because they make my day and I love flying straight.

Recently I acquired something priceless and that gets me going.

This is how I got motivated and is probably going to last forever.

The only thing that I agree with you is: While I do not believe specifically in "The Secret"...

It is cool to be positive and think on the good things, but when your thoughts are connected to the material word, you will never be happy! Tell me, how can you be positive about something that you only see it or touch it (in your case the money)?

Money will never make you feel positive, because today you have them and tomorrow maybe not. So, you thoughts and action will be driven in positive direction until you have the money in your pocket, but what after that?

One of things I have learned in this live is that you must start to think about your thoughts, feelings and actions. Because, you thoughts create the feelings and the feelings create the actions.

This reminds me of Tony Robbins. He said in one of his stories that back when he was starting out in a sales position selling to business CEO's and such, he would yell at himself with motivational messages while driving to their business. When he got to the business he would be super pumped up and full of energy.

    Haha Kroncept!

    Definitely not stupid or weird!

Tony talks about everything being a state of mind. So what you are doing is changing you state before you get to work. Your music is energising you and you are using positive affirmations to reinforce self-belief. Brilliant. It does work. I do it all the time. This is good old fashioned PMA (Positive Mental Attitude).

The next step for you is to decide on a specific amount of that cash you actually want to make and see an image in your mind of you actually receiving that amount. Imagine it in all its detail as if it was real now, pay attention especially to how it makes you feel achieving it. Do that often enough and your mind will start to believe it and you'll make it happen! Its a little trick called 'seeing the result in advance'. Give it a go! If you can get your head around it, you should get a result .

I agree with Shaunybb, if it works for you then good for you.

You could try to put some music on first thing as this will kick start your day earlier and will have a knock

    on effect even more.

It is such a great feeling to go from feeling tired in the morning to absolutely feeling amazing by the

end of the day. It's sorta like a roller coaster that you become addicted to you and I love it when you

are just so happy by the end of the day and everyone is staring at you like there is somethings wrong

with the happy guy. I get like that too and you can't buy that feeling, you just wish you could inject that

natural high into most people.....love it.

I've got to try this one day. Seems a lit crazy but sounds like it could be fun as well.

Usually when I wake up in the morning I'll watch one or two short motivational videos on youtube to get me going.
