I sometimes think Self-motivation is the more difficult of the two, but the truth is I struggle with Creativity more.

What about you, Warriors?

if you are creative and you have an outlet to express your creativity ..i doubt there is any problem with motivation .

if you are creative and you are just trying to be creative to make money ..it may be really hare to motivate yourself ..

or if you are creative and you are in the wrong field of expression

i think be creative and motivating my self is kind of different. when my lazyness came out, i need my friend to motivating me but creative is like it suddenly came when you want to be creative. so i thing self-motivation is harder then be creative

For me, motivating myself is a bit harder especially when, my laziness kicks in along with his 'friend' procrastination. Having said that, on some occasions trying to be creative at will is also hard.

Neither. The answer is indecision. Or is it?

  • I believe that creativity and self-motivation go hand in hand. Before I read "The Art of War" by Stephen Pressfield, I looked at them as two different things but after reading the book, I realized Action creates motivation and action creates creativity.

Here is a little video I shot in response as well -

I believe Creativity is much more difficult, it is something more of a TALENT or skill, self-motivation is something that can be taught or can be learned.

If you struggle with creativity, try freewriting. Ever since I discovered it I've found writing much easier. Then all you have to do is get motivated enough to sit down and write.

Basically, you set a timer (I usually start out with a ten minute session) and just write. You don't have to be writing content. You can write about a problem you're having, about feeling stuck, anything. It's a problem solving tool and a creativity booster.

You start the timer and write about whatever it is you decided you were going to write about without stopping. Allow yourself to go on tangents, but don't forget the task at hand. If you run out of things to say, just write what you're thinking or write the same sentence or word over and over until you think of something else. Sometimes I'll just write a couple of lines of "blah blah blah." That might sound crazy, but it works!

I think self motivation and creativity have different degrees of difficulty for different people.
Creative individuals don't usually have a problem with being motivated because they have a
vision of the steps required to achieve the end result [their Goal]
People that wish to achieve a Goal but don't understand the step by step process, have
problems with motivation because the frustration of not being sure what of to do next or how to do it.

I find self motivation far more of a problem than creativity. I can lie thinking up new ideas in bed for hours but the problem comes when it's time to implement hose ideas.

Self motivation is harder for me because if you are not focused or don't have goals, then one can easily live a complacent and "comfortable" life. Also, self motivation may lack if one gets knocked down and endured many failures.

Creativity is easy.. your mind can wander, there are no restrictions and you can allow your consciousness to expand with creativity... just let the ideas flow through dreams, epiphanies, writing, drawing.. etc

I find self-motivation to be easier to attain since I have $$ coming in. My motivation is my online business thriving.

Creativity isn't always the easiest to come up with since that requires doing what isn't already thought about.

But you need both ideally to keep a business up and running long term. But self persistence will keep you going even when creativity runs short in some instances.
