If You Could Sit Next to Anyone You Want on a 20 Hour Flight, Who would it be?

For 20 hours of laughter & inspiration I would love to sit next to Robin Williams, comedian & actor.

That is a very hard question. I have so many different names that come to mind. For pure business reasons I would love to sit next to Warren Buffet. I hear he is down to earth and an has a great amount of knowledge.

That is a hard question to answer but I kind of like your choice of Robin Williams because for sure he wouldn't be boring. But I think as a 1st choice I'm going to go with Jon Stewart as I am a political junkie of sorts.

I can't think of someone popular but I want to sit with someone who is fun and informative to talk to. I guess a friend would do where we share some interest and make use of the time talking about anything. I am not really so picky on conversations as long as I enjoy it then I'm in it.

Considering flying *totally* 100% freaks me out, I think I'd have to go along with the answer Beatrix gave and go flying with the Dali or some equally spiritual person to help me stay sane on the flight.

Here are the two individuals that I would gladly sit next to on a 20 hour flight and they are Dr. OZ and Oprah. Why? Dr. Oz- I would get update on the latest health information and have all my questions answered on hypertension, diabetes and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Oprah- She's very cosmopolitan and knowledgeable on many subject matter. Definitely, I would enjoy my converstation with both of them.

      iphonecashmachine,

Looks like an interesting and rare read....

Rare because he made his money, then wrote about becoming wealthy.....

Unlike many others who had made no substantial money...... But, became wealthy by speaking and writing about how to become wealthy...

      A HUGE difference.

It would easily be Nikola Tesla. He's dead of course now, so the living version would be preferable.

In my opinion he had the greatest mind of any human being since Da Vinci, even greater than Einstein, and that's no mean feat.

If you don't know much about Tesla, it really is worth Googling him. I believe he had the single greatest insight into the nature of reality than any person has ever had in our history. I think I could learn more from him on a more profound level than I could from any other human that has ever lived.

Oh geez, I wouldn't last one minute with Robin Williams next to me. Seems like a nice guy but I find him VERY annoying. Anywho...

Business related - Dan Kennedy. He has forgotten more than most people know.

For fun - Brunette, blue eyes, 5'8'', tan skin, great sense of humor.

Realistically - An empty seat. 20 hours next to anyone is too much, let alone in a damn airplane. I'd be fine listening to my ipod (which has hours and hours of marketing material on it, and of course music I love) and then sleeping to kill the time and so I wouldn't keep thinking about how much of an idiot I was for getting on a flight that long.

There are no 20 hours flights.

The longest flight is Singapore to EWR (Newark) on Singapore Airlines non stop. All is an improved Business Class cabin divided in different sections with different lighting and colours. The total flying time is a little over 18 hours depending on the winds.

Now as to who I would want to sit next to? Difficult question.
It has to be a very highly educated person with knowledge in diverse fields and fluent in several languages.

The person would have to convince me of something and that the "something" is right.

Pope John Paul II would have been ideal or else I would choose Ludwig van Beethoven.

I think I would even like flying along with Pope Benedikt as a seat neighbour. Although I am not religious there is so much I could learn from him! It would be so exclusive!

Think about it: Litterature, Ancient History, Music, World Religions, the Fine Arts... such a scholarly man! Even football for a distraction!

Yet I very much doubt I could ever have him as a seat neighbour. He would be given his own special seat on the flight!

Back to reality... I will be very lucky if I ever get on board a Pope flight. :-)

I would sit next to Kevin O'leary or Richard Branson. Kevin O'leary seems arrogant and pompous on the outside, but under all that he is actually a very intellectual and knowledgeable individual. How he see business and making money is unlike any other person on top of that, he isn't just all talk. He sold his first company to Mattel for $3.6 billion(or thereabouts).
I would also be very happy to sit beside Richard Branson. I really admire his "you only live once" mindset. He realizes that money is not the only importance in life, but having fun and good relationships are important as well. He should have and endless amount of intriguing stories to tell and priceless business philosophies to tell.
This was a very tough question to answer, even now I'm not shure of my answer. Well done, you got over 300 people tripping over their thoughts.

My grandmother. She was in the stages of dementia when I was young and she died when I was just 5 years old. I didn't know her long, but I really loved her very much. I would give almost anything to sit with her when she was just a bit healthier so that I could remember her smile, her laugh and tell her how much I love her and miss her. Ther is no amount of money or sucess in the world that I would choose over a moment like that.

One of my favourite musical artists. His stories alone in that department would keep me interested. I might be able to convince him to freestyle which would be mind blowing.

Not to mention he has been able to amass a half a billion dollars in net worth. Coming from literally nothing, living in a project. Would be a really motivating story to hear about.

Lastly, it might mean that beyonce is sitting ont he other side of me...grr.

Interesting question...on a personal level I'd have to agree with this Warrior's quote above. I lost my handicapped Mom unexpectantly a little over 2 yrs ago and it turned my world upside down. I would love to have 20 hours with her to tell her everything I didn't do enough of when she was here to make her life easier and happier for her. I think of her every day and miss her greatly even though she is in a much better place now at peace and pain free.

For inspiration I'd love to sit next to Zig Ziglar for 10 hours and then he could get up and switch seats with Tony Robbins who just happened to be on the same flight for the other 10 hours.

Somebody did get the chance to sit next to Richard Branson for a few hours on a flight, and the conversation was turned into a book called "Millionaire Upgrade"....

Millionaire Upgrade delves deep into the mindset of self-made millionaires, and was inspired by a true story when passenger Jason Murphy was upgraded on a flight and found himself sitting next to Sir Richard Branson.

If I could choose from anyone of all time, I would be stuck between Ben Franklin, Nikola Tesla, Helen Keller or Leonardo Da Vinci (I have a list of several others that would be more than acceptable).

If it has to be someone living today, I would go with my wonderful & beautiful better half (Di), Richard Branson, Geoff Shaw, or any one of the Moody Blues.

I could be selfish and pick any of the highly successful entrepreneurs on the planet, but I'd rather sit next to someone that is really keen to get into our business but doesn't know where or how to start.

This person will already have a note book and pen with them, because that's how prepared they are for life - ready to capture any and all opportunities that come their way.

They will know the right questions to ask and start planning it out immediately in their head.

Seriously... That is a tough one. I think it would depend on what I would want to discuss. If we are going to talk business then probably Warren Buffet. If I am talking sports (which I do a lot) then I would have to say Phil Mickelson.

I can't really answer that question, I do not have a "favorite" individual I would like to have a conversation with, because I tend to find it unhealthy when you idolize somebody too much. After all they are just human beings, sometimes with extraordinary qualities, I hope that I can always see the best of somebody and take a little bit from that while giving some of my own best to them.

I like the thought of talking to some all-knowing entity, God, but I wouldn't like to be able to have access to all knowledge, because I like being human and finding things out on my own, that's what life is all about.

I wouldn't really care anyways, no matter who I sit next to is marvelous in every sense, we are all the same, just caught up in different stages of intellectual development. That's the kind of mindset I love and try to keep.

I apologize for the long answer, I tend to swift away very easily, an answer such as Tony Robbins might have been more appropriate.

oh. I prefer non-talkers next to me on a flight. So I could describe the characteristics like that. Quiet. Thin. at least a bit Pretty. No burpy type of dude.

A movie star to get a photo with, cuz it probly be on her private jet, then, and with real silverware and those stretchout white leather seats.

You know why Jesus said he's coming on the clouds? Because he must've known we'd have flying machines by now... uncanny.

I sat next to Sarah Palin once on a flight, when Governor. Before her big splash on the nationl scene.

I sat next to a Kraft food taster once. A jet engine salesperson. A kid about to climb mt McKinley.

If I sat next to any of the great philosophers, I'd love to get into debates with them. Get Socrates or Plato or Confucious. Now, I would have a gas with them.

They are like my brothers.... What would satisfy you if you sit with Steve Jobs, Angelina Jolie, Barrack Obama etc? Believe me, nothing!! This thread needs a resurrection!

Re: If You Could Sit Next to Anyone You Want on a 20 Hour Flight, Who would it be?

A: Richard Branson & Elon Musk.

I was just thinking how highly successful people usually have throw away ideas. I remember Richard gave someone an idea that although they didnt do it, someone else did, and, they made millions.

Unrelated story: There was a guy who was in a meeting group with millionaires and the millionaires gave him a throw away idea because they were interested in more sophisticated investments. The guy took the idea and made millions.

If I am going to be on a plane, (& could pick my select two people), I want bonafide billionaires who freely give away ideas that could help me TODAY. Those two guys I know can provide what I need today!!

I agree, that movie is a classic. But one of his most underated and out of the box performances was in the Nutty Professor where he played 5 different parts ... Everyone but the little boy and Jada Pinkett in the video below. Most people would never know he played those if someone didn't tell you.

I'm shocked he didn't win some kind of award, but it didn't.

Check it out. Only if you want to laugh.

    Frank Kern.

Not the most famous, nor richest or the smartest and given the fact I could have anyone in the world most would consider a poor choice (probably even to Frank himself! ) .

However, I've just finished his latest book "Convert" and he aligns himself with exactly what I want to do. We could spend the most productive hour of my life applying that said teaching to my specific niche. Then I'd have the blueprint to go and take action. The rest of the flight we could spend either chatting shit or applying his teachings in real time with my laptop, ready to launch when we land

Actually....that would make a pretty cool marketing tool for him.

"How I changed a guys life just from a plane ride by setting up his business ready to launch when we landed!"

Good thoughts, reminds me of my father who I lost 10 years ago. Wish I had spent more time with him when I was a teen, instead of hanging out with the girls and my thug friends all day. Ah, you never miss what you have until it's gone.

Despite my youthful hard head I still learned a lot from him, perhaps by osmosis.

Plus, the good examples he set and things I saw him doing when he thought I wasn't looking or listening. He was the real deal, if I can be half the man he was I'd consider myself successful ... No matter how much money I make or don't make.

Currently alive: Bruce Springsteen. I'm a big fan and he seems like someone who'd be cool to chat about life with.

Dead, but somehow miraculously brought back to life for the sole purpose of sitting next to me on a long flight: Carl Sagan. I love science, and space is one of my favourite areas of science. I'm sure Carl could teach me a lot.

Carl Icahn would be my choice. The list of his accomplishments are endless. His tactics some would agree are very brash. But underneath all that lies an investment strategy that can not be ignored. I don't favor being brash but I do favor learning the underlying principles behind highly successful investment strategies.

Right now it would be anybody who is decent in marketing. I don't need to sit next to Jay Abrams or Dan Kennedy right now. Not that it wouldn't be nice but I don't need that level right now. I am honestly answering just what I need right now and a decent marketer would be awesome.

And here is why: I have one of the most incredible and controversial claims in the personal development industry right now. It took twenty-five years to figure out. I can explain exactly why and how it works. But people don't care about what it does. They want to know how it will benefit them.

So I want to know what to put on my site (and post in forums) to do that. Something specific. Something that works because I deliver on my promise - every time.
