The Fundamentals Of Becoming Entrepreneur And Learning From Entrepreneur

The moment you become an entrepreneur, you have to forget everything you learn in schools and from people around you.

And that includes your friends and family unless one or some of them are entrepreneurs.

Truth be told, most of the teachers only teach based on what they learn on paper from THEIR teachers. Other than their degree/diploma qualifications, they have no real life experience and results to show for in marketing. That includes certain trainers employed by certain sales companies.

And even if you learn from the master, you have to forget everything you know or think you know about marketing. Sure you can tell him or her you know this and that during the meet and greet introduction. Although he will smile and agree with everything you say, that is just plain courtesy considering this is his first meeting with you.

BUT THAT'S IT.

Once you and your master aka mentor get down to business planning, you have to throw away everything you know out of the window and start listening and doing what your mentor tells you.

If he asks you to go out and meet people, you go out and meet people. If he asks you to do surveys, you do surveys.

If he says SEO sucks and asks you to focus on social media and list building, you forget SEO and focus on social media and list building.

The same goes when you are being mentored by a SEO or paid traffic expert. You followed his business model to achieve success.

You might not like it. I also don't like it. But that is the way it is and is all part of learning process.

That also reminds me of a 1984 movie scene in the old Karate Kid whereby Mr Miyagi asks Daniel to paint the wall instead of teaching him karate which Daniel needs to learn in order to beat his school bully and get his girl.

great stuff, right to the point. Most do not realize that the entire mindset must be transformed in order to be successful in entrepreneurship, and the more successful you are as an employee the less than likely you will be successful as an entrepreneur..
    thanks for the great post

The education part is key -- what people don't get about starting your own internet marketing business, whether online or offline, is that 99% of the successful people are self-educated.

    They learned this stuff themselves.

True and important. Its about learning from somebody else's model who has walked the path.

I soon learnt this when I became an entrepreneur myself. I don't personally know anybody who thinks the same way I do. Unfortunately most of my friends lack the ambition that I have somehow acquired and it is a constant frustration when they are negative about what I am trying to achieve simply because they could never understand what it is I am trying to achieve.

If anything, this is one of the main things that drive me on to succeed. There's nothing better than turning round and saying "I told you so".

    I get that, but...

That's not necessarily a bad thing. Some of the best teachers are people who never did what they teach. Their gift is teaching.

Take Vince Lombardi, for example. He never played professional football, but he's one of the best to have ever coached the game.

Many excellent music teachers never earned a dime as musicians, but they've taught others who went on to earn their living playing.

Ever heard of Sean Foley? That's Tiger Woods golf coach. He never aspired to be a professional golfer, he wanted to teach from the start. He's considered one of the best.

I'd rather learn from someone who is a great teacher and motivator than from someone with experience who can't teach. If the student has a good teacher, it's up the student how far he will go. If he has a bad teacher, even if the teacher has loads of experience, he's got a ball and chain holding him back.

    Great post.

But i believe it was "Mr Miyagi"

In order to learn, you must first empty your mind.

    Cheers,
